Don't make me do you like I did the loot naysayers, Venture. Don't make me!
Bring it. :P
[/ QUOTE ]
Careful, Venture. Thanks to I11, Geko's got a whole lot of new things to hit you with. Sledgehammers, shovels, pipewrenches... this could get ugly.
[/ QUOTE ]
And buff IO's and purple loot...
Oh hey, never mind. Go for it guys!
*sits back with popcorn*

*sits next to Lady_A with a box of junior mints*
ugly? no no no, this could get awesome.

*backs up the station wagon*
*pulls out the grill and the cooler*
Geko vs. Venture? Sweet!
[/ QUOTE ]
Venture has already lost. He's already backed off on his more strident declaration that Flashback is a bad idea. Look at his quote above:
Venture sez:
[ QUOTE ]
I'm just so excited about this issue. This is seriously just too much win!!!
It's good stuff, but I'm just not seeing any cause for all the exuberance. Weapon customization is something we've wanted for a long time but it's nothing to squirt your shorts over. Flashback is at best a wash, and [u]will probably do more harm than good over the long run[u], and we don't know much about the new loot.
[/ QUOTE ]
When has the Venture ever shied away from making bold declarative statements...
Oh right...when he dared stand in opposition to the EVILGEKO! -

Because you know, despite the doomsaying about alting dying, I have this strange desire to make a mace tanker and an AR blaster. Something I can say unequivocally I had no desire to before. -

It would have been the best year ever if I9 was the only thing that happened.
Now, it's like a supernova of awesome exploding inside my computer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup! -
[ QUOTE ]
Posi and I did want to make this the year where we gave fans what they've been asking for!
[/ QUOTE ]
You did it with this fan!!! -
Devs. Well, gosh darnit.
Issues 9, 10, and 11 have just plain out made this year of City of Heroes awesome. And we started the year with the very good Issue 8 to tide us over. I am more than willing to give praise where warranted and this year qualifies and then some.
Seriously this year, you've outdone yourselves. You've taken the gameplay options to a new level. I'm so frikken excited about the changes you've made in the last few months.
Loot, crafting, high level content, flashback, PHAT LEWT, a way to get a prettier sword for my main and new melee sets!
WOW!!!
I don't know what more to say. Thanks for the best "City of" year ever!!! -

The other problem I have with this idea, is that this is what they pay Lighthouse and Ex Libris for. Seriously, I don't see why they couldn't perform this role. It seems to me that having two full time staffers working on community would be enough to get information to the community and in a manner that the powers that be want.
-
QR
I think this is a well thought out idea, but I have the following concerns:
Player elections will not work. The correspondents should simply be selected by Lighthouse and Ex Libris after expressing interest. Democracy is a wonderful institution, but it's too slow for this purpose.
To be honest, I'm not sure the devs are ready to commit to the free flow of information on their end to make this work. Ex Libris solicited a list of questions and then there was no answer back.
In addition there are long standing issues in many of the ATs that the devs simply will not address. Tundara just got an answer back from Castle on the very, very old issue of Frozen Aura that basically stated, "You guys do OK so I really can't take the time to fix Frozen Aura right now." Honest, but really I think that if that's the answer on a lot of issues people will get discouraged. -

Oh, boy. I can see it now the first time someone complains about CoV, there are going to be 1500 people flaming, trolling and name calling. Woo Hoo!
Great move.
[/ QUOTE ]
Make a legitimate statement about problems shouldn't elicit any more problems than normal.
It's when the complaint is peppered with inflammatory comments and allegations that the reasons behind the problem is some kind of CoV hatred conspiracy, that people get irked. That would happen anywhere on these forums, not just in CoH General.
Keep it simple, don't talk like tinfoil hat people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Come on Lemur. You darn well what the villain forum turns into without provocation. No need to tinfoil hat people when it is done for you because people have a negative opinion of things red side. [u]I already know what will happen when Bad_Influence posts anything. [u]
[/ QUOTE ]
As do I. Hopefully villain players will be able to accept graciously the rule of their heroic overlords and conduct themselves with obedience and supplication.
But they probably won't.It's going to be interesting for awhile!

[ QUOTE ]
It's just a clean-up move that has nothing to do with i11. Comment was made in another thread about this merging.
[/ QUOTE ]
Who said that? I read that post that said that Ex wanted to do this for a long time. In fact, that suggests that since she just got approval now, that there might be ulterior motives.

How about merging the markets at the same time

How about QFT! -
Ex Libris, is this just a cleanup move or is this part of the Issue 11 pre-hype? It looks suspicious.

Given the Devs' inability or unwillingness to balance PvP over the past two years, and with IOs aggrevating the problems and making them more complex, I've given up in despair and returned halfheartedly to the PvE game. I'm reduced to hoping MUO will serve as a CoH Mark II.
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember a certain poster wondering why the EvilGeko gave up on there ever being PvP balance!

EvilGeko, love your posts! I don't usually associate you with defeatism though. Presuming it -can- be done, I'm asking if the devs have the will.

2) Weren't you one of the ones that said we couldn't count AoE nerfs like ED in saying Regen got nerfed?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not that I recall. When ED hit, I was firmly on the side of "MFers nerfed my SR into oblivion with this #*&#^$*&#$^*#$!"
It was only later that I switched sides. After the scaling dam-res. And after the critter accuracy change.
[/ QUOTE ]
That does sound more like your speed, come to mind. SR really did get screwed by ED. Much more than Regen. The irony that the nerfs of I3-5 pretty much insulated Regen from ED was just too delicious. -

You don't understand Geko's exquisite madness like I do. Dull Pain will never get nerfed. Removed maybe, but never nerfed. It's left alone to instill fear in us. We are meant to fear its nerfing forevermore.
Geko is a wicked, wicked man.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that statement 2 years ago sure went down the drain.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dull Pain has never been nerfed. The last change to it was a buff - its +health was made 50% enhanceable. Very approximately, that buff was comparable to giving the two scrappers with dull pain (invuln and regen) brute health.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahh, but was it not indirectly nerfed with ED?
[/ QUOTE ]
Two things:
1) Not really buff canceled that out.
2) Weren't you one of the ones that said we couldn't count AoE nerfs like ED in saying Regen got nerfed? -

would Arcana eat at McDonald's except under pressure of relatively dire need.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sometimes, I specifically order food elsewhere, then zip through the drive-through at McDonalds just for french fries.
Sometimes, I'm not specifically out looking for food, and I zip through the drive-through at McDonalds just for french fries. Its sad, but true.

Ah, I was wrong then. Very well.
The SR Lounge: Arcana, a Supersize french fry, and a graphing calculator! -

I know black pudding sounds disgusting, but it tastes like heaven.

The most delicious sausage is made from crap that you wouldn't eat if you knew in advance. I think the problem is that they tell me what it's made of. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh if anyone if the ATL area knows where I can get real bacon I will be forever in their debt.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can't order it online?
I just typed in www.britishbacon.com and found a site that will ship it. It looks like the picture you linked. -

Bacon, and I mean REAL BACON, not the streaky cheap bacon wannabe you get over in the US.

That looks yummy.

mmmm grits.... grits, eggs, sausage, bacon and grape jelly all mixed up in a bowl...
<slobbers on self>

That's vile
The only appropriate addition to eggs would be a nice hot sauce.
Edit: actually eggs with smoked trout and a hollandaise sauce sauce can work too

You people are evil. Eggs and fish now? -

Grits = WOOT!
Eggs = Yes, please
Bacon = Yes, but not so much
Grape Jelly = Keep that garbage away from my breakfast!!
JELLY and EGGS should not be eaten within the same meal...or day for that matter. -

However, seriously Bill, McGriddles? Ugh... The person who thought up making a sandwich with pancakes and syrup needs to be shot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ohhh I love em, regardless of the disgust and pain.
Once every other month or so I'll go get a couple.
I'm happy that I became domesticated and treat my body well with proper meals now.
The old days of doublemeat, double cheese, bacon grease burgers every day followed by 8-12 jack and cokes a night were ... bad for me.

Agreed. Being a family man really is better. -

That's an interesting point and why "Supersize Me" while entertaining was BS. There's nothing wrong with having a big plate of greasy food....occassionally. It has no business being part of a normal healthy diet, but sometimes it's ok.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's why supersize me WASN'T BS. There are people that live like that, man. It may not be MCDs everyday, but it's the same garbage equivalent every day.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I know some of them. But Morgan Spurlock went from living with a Vegan Chef to eating like that.
There was this great episode of "Married with Children" that I thought of when I watched that movie. Peg had managed to corrupt her physical trainer from eating salads with no dressing, to eating bons bons and watching Oprah all day!It killed the guy.
Al explained that his body wasn't ready for that splash of toxins (not in those words of course).
