EM and SS are two of the problem sets in this game. If you been paying attention to the stuff they proliferating, they are not proliferating the big problem sets, at least not yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. Castle did some gymnastics to avoid it this time though.

    No fire for Defenders;
    No illusion for Doms;
    No BS for Tankers;
    etc.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

And in the end, the base damage Foot Stomp does is less than Fire Sword Circle, that you already have access to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't care about that. It's the radius and appearance I want. They nerf the radius I'll be bummed. But really I just want the powerset. If dragon tail (that's MA's AoE right?) gets the Footstomp animation, I'll probably be cool. Although it would be [naughty word for engaging in coitus] weak to lose the radius.

I might start nerfherding on Brutes.
  3. That is an awesome option. No more fill requests. I probably can get even level AVs without going Invincible from what it sounds like. That feature may be my favorite.

Electric Melee and Armor for Issue 16.

I think Castle is just scared. I was really hoping for Energy Melee/Energy Aura. Or SS and Mace/Axe. Or Ice/Ice. Sigh...

    [/ QUOTE ]

But didnt you know that Martial Arts will use Super Strenght Animations as alternates? There is your Super Strength!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I so fear you're right.

Must I forever be denied Scrapper Footstomp?
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    But /Elec....lolz

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. Electric Melee is OK. Might even be awesome with Scrapper mods and crits. But Electric Armor is fail.

    Assassin's Head Splitter anyone?

lawls was coming here to post this exact thing. You wins lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Should be Assassin's Crunch.

But TBH I've actually seen BS Stalkers in the comics. I wouldn't use the legacy BS, but other sword options will look just fine for stalkers.

My Will Tanker has capped Energy defense and never went below 70% against Reischman. I think he's kinda a weenie personally.

I did. That's what happened: I talked to the contact who was sending me TO the security chief. The mission autocompleted, and auto-started me on the security chief's mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, you have to talk to the security chief first, then go back to the contact to drop the hunt.

Although with the particular hunt in question, you would probably be better off just doing the hunt.

Actually last night, I hit what MUST be a bug, or else a serious flaw in the mission selection process.

Merisel Velanzuela suggests I go to the Eden Security Chief. (Merisel is on the far west side of Brickstown, in case you've forgotten. Eden is on the far south side of Founders Falls.)

I suggest to her that she is smoking crack, why not give me a real mission instead? So I drop the mission.

And instantly in my nav bar is "defeat 35 Devouring Earth in Eden".

?!?! Say what?! Yeah so I bugged that. I was not planning on GOING there, at all, but wound up wandering through anyway and dying (it's embarrassing to die because of all the Swarms, you know?) and quitting.

So the mission selection setup might be borked for certain contacts, just... be aware of that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not a bug. That's how Security Chief missions work. It's a two mission process. The mission you properly dropped was, "Talk to the Security Chief." Remember what happens when you drop a mission in a story arc? You get the next mission in that arc.

Likewise, when you drop the first mission in this very tiny mini-arc, you get the next mission in sequence. The proper thing to do is take the security chief mission, talk to him. Then drop the hunt that comes after.

I like this idea. Seems easy to implement. A custom group would be considered invalid to use until a Minion class was added. Then the game could automatically weight it so there are more minions than bosses.

    I like it, I think it's a strong idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If would be very problematic if you want a single custom AV/EB for an arc that otherwise uses normal enemies. Not to mention that implementing this now would invalidate zillions of arcs (not that that's anything particularly new).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. That's why I think any such restriction should be based on the MISSION and not the custom group. So long as you have a minion rank IN THE MISSION, you're fine.
  12. QR

I agree with the idea, but I would give folks an out if they REALLY want to just create challenge missions.

I think it should be possible to create a mission with a single critter rank, but if you do, then that (those) critter(s) only gives minion exp. When i do the Scrapper challenge, I don't care about exp, nor should people making legitimate challenge missions.

People who are interested in story can just create a minion class mob if they want a single critter type mission.

They should just make a button for these people that lets them immediately start at L50. No more need for farming...

Of course, no more need to play either...

People don't seem to realize that the reason for playing isn't to BE L50, but to enjoy the trip TO L50.

    [/ QUOTE ]

if the game ends at 50 - is that the players fault ? 5 years and they cannot come up with end game content? You could try pvp - that keeps some of us in the game - oh wait they screwed that up....

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've been playing my first level 50...at 50 for 4 1/2 years. Who says there's no end game content?

Personally I'd like to see AE shut down for.. ahem... Maintenance during double XP.. I'd get a laugh at all the "you mean I need to go OUTSIDE??" comments.

While I was reading I was thinking, 'I really don't care whether it gets 2xp." But this would be hilarious.

Take those Security Chief missions. The only one that is slightly difficult at the early levels is the "Kill 10 CoT in Perez Park" that you get from level 5-9.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Security Chiefs that roadblocked me were CoT in Perez Park, and Clockwork in Boomtown. Those, I am not touching.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The clockwork in boomtown is free exp. I usually get that mission around level 12-13 and there are level 11-13 clockwork in small spawns in Boomtown. I could tell you how to get there, but I'd need to be in game to point out the directions. However, let's say that if you're coming into Boomtown facing away from the exit, you need to go diagonally to the left past the Council troops. You'll see the zone wall hit a 90 degree angle. Start looking for clockwork around there. Bring some blues and greens.

As for the CoT in Perez. If you go into Perez from Atlas, and go straight from the gate into the woods, there are spawns of 8-9 level CoT. Take a couple of greens and a couple of breakfrees and most characters can knock that one out.

It's fine that he said he didn't like it, but to say not to bother anymore, is to kill the topic and not add Ideas or suggestions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was very tempted to attack after reading this response, but I will demur. I did not say that you didn't need to bother to post your suggestion.

I said that people don't need to bother with the markets anymore if they don't choose. Please do not misrepresent what I said to make your point.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
They may very well, not consider it, but that is not a suggestion of Ideas, that's your opinion. [u]To say that I don't really need to bother making suggestions in a suggestion channel, is Griefer remark, otherwise why are you bothering to reply, with no Suggestions or Ideas?[u]

    [/ QUOTE ]

I said your suggestion was not needed. You have the right to post whatever suggestion you wish. And while I have no call to attack you personally, as I have not (but you have to me), I have every right to attack your IDEA.

Your idea is unnecessary and would eliminate a portion of the game that people enjoy. I don't have, nor am required, to present responsive suggestion as I'm arguing that the status quo should be maintained.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
OK, other than you think the market is fine the way it is, do you have any Ideas? Suggestions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. That the devs ignore your suggestion because it is not needed. It is not difficult for any player to build a character they will enjoy. Merits and tickets already provide sufficient ability for players to "get what they want" while avoiding the markets.

Some people like the markets. If you don't. Ignore them. Between merits and AE, you really don't need to bother anymore if you want.
  19. QR

    What Spiritchaser said.

My DM/EA is a beast. Yes, I've sunk about 200M into the build, but she's quite fun to play and feels much more solid than my EM/FA Brute.
  20. QR

The "Market is ruining the game" fight is so 2007. That fight has been fought and your side lost.

Issue 9 breathed new life into the game. The people who preached doom when loot came into the game were wrong. The people who preached doom when the markets opened were wrong.

The player economy (hero side at least) is vibrant, fluid and functioning.

I wish we could get rid of the Security Chiefs, Visit PvP Zone contact, and Hero Corps Representative in King's Row that easily. I just started a new character; and decided I would run old contact material for gits and shiggles after getting the AP temp travel power. I ran into the same brick wall on two separate contacts: all they would offer me after a point were Security Chiefs or street hunts in Perez Park. No thank'ee, back to the radio.

    [/ QUOTE ]

EvilGeko has a point. Since the AE we are getting an increasing number of players that don't know where other zones are. Thes missions that are annoying to us are now serving a purpose by introdicing these new players to parts of the game they didn't know existed. That's a good thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly. Take those Security Chief missions. The only one that is slightly difficult at the early levels is the "Kill 10 CoT in Perez Park" that you get from level 5-9. I can see those being a pain for a low level player, but any vet should be able to knock those out. The Atlas SC mission is kill 5 hellions. IIRC the King's Row SC mission is kill 10 Skulls. These are not difficult missions, you kill less mobs and can do it on mobs lower than you would get even in a Heroic paper mission.

As for the street hunts in Perez. Half of those are free exp. Some of the contacts in Steel give you "Kill 10 Hellions." Well at the time you're level 10+ and there are mobs there that start at level 7.

Personally, I don't really understand folk's reluctance to do hunts or perhaps walk a few yards, but the devs have given you several repetitive, boring, exp grinds if that's what you want. But can we at least have the game let you know that there are other things that you can do other than that if you want.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Everyone seems to think it is not an issue because they have found easy ways around it. What the OP is asking for, I believe, is to not have to do those things to avoid the hollows.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even if that's what he's asking for. It's 5 minutes at most to walk to Wincott and leave. Or do his missions if you want.

I've never agreed and don't now that this is a major problem. I think that the game should introduce new characters to Wincott every time and force them to go there if they haven't already. People already do everything in their power to avoid normal content in favor of repetitive content. I don't have a problem with forcing people to look at the City at least for a couple of minutes before getting back to the exp grind.
  23. Awesome Post OP! Thanks for the chuckle.

Seriously! That's what I saw this weekend in the auction house when I went looking for an Apocalypse IO and a few other purples to complete a set I'd begun slotting several months ago.

How is *anything* going for 200 million plus inf. on the auction house? Is the system that unbalanced now? [u]There's just no way the casual player is ever going to afford a purple recipe now - or is that the idea?[u]

    *edit*

Deleted the $ sign - sorry about that!

    [/ QUOTE ]

"Casual" is subject to far too many differing intepretations to have any meaning. However, some purple recipes go for as little as a couple of million inf (primarily the control sets) so I don't believe that purple recipes are out of the reach of any level 50 player.

The most popular sets go for extreme amounts. As it should be.
