I would try Fire/Dark or Elec/Dark. Fire Sword Circle is yummy even if it doesn't have the flash of Elec.

Hi, I'm EvilGeko, and I play Scrappers.
I'm not known for anything anymore. I used to be the main proponent/foil/defender of Regen and an avowed Moment of Glory hater, but then they left Regen alone for awhile and actually buffed MoG.
So, I'm pretty mellow these days. I'm like the old war vet who gets a kick out of the new kids and their survival charts, and arguing over who does 10 more DPS than the other guy. All the time arguing about builds that are in the top 1% and can all do pretty much the same overpowered things.

Hmmm, purples have a considerably less than 1 in 1000 chance of dropping when fighting level 47+ enemies. i know people who play 50's regularly and have not gotten more than one or two purples recipes in months.
You can get a guaranteed HO drop through the Statesman Task Force, Lord Recluse Strike Force and Hamidon raid. All of which can be completed in less than two hours with a competent group.
HO's are much easier to acquire than purples.
HOs have dwindled because many people aren't taking that reward. -

Weird. For some reason I can only slot one Hecatomb DMG/RECH per character, while I can slot as many HOs as I want. Must be a bug.
Also, I forget which IO I'm supposed to triple-slot into Mind Link to max out Defense, Recharge, AND ToHit.
As to the second: I mentioned my widow in my post. Strange that people keep ignoring that. In addition, if you all keep coming back to that one power, you're proving my point. HOs are incredibly situational. And hell, Membranes are one HOs out of about a dozen. How many Lysosomes does your widow slot?
In your zeal to make a point, you forgot the overriding issue. HOs don't fare well against purples and even most IOs. Sure (LIKE I SAID IN MY POST) there are situational things like Mind Link where HOs are the best option, but for many characters HOs are useless in their current state. And given the effort required to earn one, that shouldn't be the case. -

While it's bad form to necro this, I just wanted to note that I recently ran my Fire/Pain Corruptor over Kadabra Kill. Had to chew a couple of inspirations (because the bastid had help from the Lost he was fighting) but it wasn't difficult at all to take him down. -

I was thinking the same thing. Even fairly common IOs like Crushing Impact (level50) is 2-3x more pricey Red Side.
I've seen LotG7.5% go for 120+million Red Side, last I checked Blue Side it was 50-60?

Not a bad idea necessarily, but I think it would have to be something along the lines of making the drop rate better the further into the TF you are.
Many TFs have first missions that would be farmed for days otherwise. See the first mission of the ITF for example. With fillers (we're finally getting rid of them, this could bring them back), many ATs could solo the first mission set for 8. Over and over again.
Even with the addition of making it being based on how long you were in the TF, you would have to be careful lest people get to the end of the Doc. Q and then farm the last mission every night for weeks. Again, I don't think this is a bad idea per se, but we have to be careful how it's implemented.
Better IMO, to give a chance for a purple based on completing challenge goals in a TF. Something like Kill 1000 mobs in the ITF or something. -

To say it "gets denied" implies its ever even been visited:[u] its possible its simply never come up as a proliferation target yet for someone to say "no" to.[u] Picking other sets first as higher priorities for proliferation is not the same thing as saying no to Illusion.
Also, I'm not sure there actually are major problems with proliferating Illusion to dominators (at least, not balance-related ones) but if there were, Domination would not be at the top of my list. Giving Superior Invisibility and indestructible tanks to something with assault sets would be higher.
And finally, "if you weren't full of crap you'd give me what I demand" is only sweet talk in the original Klingon.

Except, again, it's the last already existing control set to proliferate. Controllers only have a secondary, because they only have secondaries left. They have all currently existing control sets.
Dominators got a sorta brand new set versus a set that already exists. -
