That despite your baseless accusations against Scrappers, it was indeed the Tankers who slowly bled the Defenders down. Scrappers, as we are want to do, took the fight to whoever our eye caught first.

Tankers, slowly methodically, took down the squishies. Surely you gave the kill shot to Scrappers to cover your vile scheme, but surely the Defenders, as wise and thoughtful that they are, will see through your ruse.

Because whatever honeyed words you use, your actions against the Defenders spoke loudly in opposition.

    Debuff?

I just want to kill the healors!

True story: You don't know how many Tanker have said that to me as I went off on my own. Somehow they think it would hurt the team. When the exp starts rolling in twice as fast, they tend to just leave the Scrapper to killin'.
  7. Tankers, be smart about this. The Defenders mock us, they call us meleers their "pets". They lord their debuffs over us. They create their "super-teams" to mock us.

It is not time for meleers to fall prey to infighting, it's time to destroy the squishies and then let the final battle be one of men and women who stand toe to toe on the field of battle.

It shall be the ultimate fiteclub! You have only to aid our cause in smiting the Defenders. I do apologize for Bill, but you know when Scrappers flip out and start killin' they're pretty hard to stop!

I know Bill is off on Scrapperlock on the Tankers, but we need to take the drama-que...er Defenders down. The Corruptor pouters have joined with their more resilience squishy brethren.

Let the final battle be melee v. melee.

I'm going after the Corruptors because they are weak and we can put them down like the vile dogs that they are! Then we can go after the weak and servile HEALORS!!

He was AR/Pain, and no, it wasn't just a corruptor with more heals than attacks. Here's a few quotes from the fight.

Him: Going back to all healing mode.

    Sometime later...

Him: Aren't you guys glad I took all my heals?

    ...

Him: I'm going to take the medicine pool next.

Am I off my rocker for saying he was a wasted spot on the team? Would you team with a corruptor that only healed? Again, I could be wrong here, which is why I'm asking, but it seems to me that he's like a petless MM.
If you guys were taking a lot of damage and he was healing it and having fun, what's the problem?

If you were all taking no damage and he was just wasting end and a spot, then I would agree with you.

Controllers can't draw those players away, and Going Rogue won't either.
There's also crazy people like me who want to have one of each AT. My Cold/Ice Defender covers the Defender slot though, but I'm still enjoying my Kin/Sonic. Although that particular combo is the exception that proves the rule IMO.

At least with Arachnos they don't make a secret out of probably killing you someday for, I dunno, crossing the streets while the traffic lights were red, but with heroes, you never know when they use their super power of moral relativism to explain why you are evil and must be exterminated immediately.

Either way, it's kinda hard to respect a super hero who messes with the minds of everyone who doesn't harbour unconditional love for her.
Most of the Freedom Phalanx are jerks. My heroes harbor no respect for them and one even wishes for their retirement, "forcibly" if necessary!

A lot of bane spiders were injured during this experiment...
Hmm... which suggest States would have won handily if fighting an even con.

States just needs to go to Atlas and get on a boss farm for an hour or so.

I don't know if there is any evidence for that statement. The devs mentioned something like this back in 2005, where I would imagine it's true. Now...not so much. I would imagine most long term players have one or more level 50s.

Knockdown's slightly lesser duration is well balanced by the greater control and ease of use of KD. KD is never, ever a hindrance. One doesn't have to consider whether it's appropriate to use in this instance. One doesn't have to position KD so as not to do more harm than good.

To sum up, I disagree that Energy Blast would be negatively impacted if folks had a choice to turn its KB into KD.

On the other hand, wide area knockback changed to knockdown could be considered too effective for team play. With stacked KD, it just rewards thoughtless spamming. As now, with KB, if you spam these wide area effects, you have to have a direction. Lack of one only grants you the mitigation from the KB but player skill is rewarded in other ways (placement, more mitigation, more damage because you can spam) if you use it properly.
I actually agree with this. There is some good balance reasons why all ranged AoEs, and some melee AoEs should cause some form of mob scatter (like terror or KB). But the problem here is that KB doesn't appear to be put in most powers as a balancing element (unlike the aforementioned terror) and other sets don't suffer the same limitation. I think if the idea is that ranged AoEs are too good, then we need to spread the scatter concept to the few AoEs that don't have KB or some other form of scatter.

Because most do. Which does suggest that the devs think this way. If powers don't have scatter there should be a very good reason for it.

I think it was another post, but I can't see why all powers that would allow this enhancer couldn't have:

.67 KB (i.e. Knockdown) that's unaffected by buffs or enhancements.

Whatever their current KB mag is.

And a KD "enhancer" with an enhancement value of 0. 0 times anything is 0, right. So the enhancer would eliminate the KB effect, leaving only the unenhanceable KD effect.

Kick me if you want, but you usually can't because I usually have the star.

So all you knockback powered heroes, start your own team and don't give up the star!
    That's how it works now.

I don't agree with that. Using Nova or Dwarf turns off all your other powers. In effect, that is the balance consideration at work. If when you turned on Dwarf you had all its powers PLUS your human form powers I would agree with you.

    Quote:
Also I don't think the VEATs can have ALL those powers, at some point a fair few of them get closed off when they pick their branches?
When you pick say Bane Spider, you have access to the whole wolf training and your Bane choices. There are a couple of exceptions. Crabs can't have duplicates of Venom Grenade and WAWG and Night Widows can't have both Follow-Up and Build Up, but other than that, the VEATs have more power choices than Kheldians.

I already have a Scrapper build for */Nin that has four KB IOs.

We should have gotten Axe/Mace and Ninjitsu this time. Electric is better now after its heal, but it's still not really up to snuff for Scrappers IMO.
