At least Arbiter Hawk deigned to give us some actual information.
This weekend was for the special few that could make the trip to the Pummit. Not for the rest of us.
We should be grateful for what we get. -
-
What a failure.
The biggest piece of news from the whole debacle turns out to be the terrible "super packs" being added to the market.
And next to no solid information on anything else mentioned in the keynote. I'd be alot more excited for the upcomming features if we get some answers like they were hyping this up to be providing. -
Apparently Dark Control is "tentacle free"
Just overheard in between panels. -
Any idea what panels will be on the Ustream?
-
A team of 8 beam rifle/ corruptors.
So many letters the damage looks like algebraic equations. -
A long series of missions, at least 5. Probably more.
Enemies at lvl 54. Though all Incarnate level shifts apply.
Threads drop randomly in mission. Awards one Emp merit at the end, one Astral each time after for the next 20 hours.

Whatever they do, hopefully it'll be slower than that and arrive months after the last incarnate trial they make. I feel the day a worthwhile solo incarnate path gets introduced is the day the Incarnate trials go the way of PvP, bases and AE story content.
But thats what everyone wants. -
Quote:Agreed. Asking for help finding/filling out a team seems appropriate to me.Of course if you are a F2P player or dont have access to globals as a premium then yes help channel is the LFG channel.
Also if anybody does tell you on the help channel that it should only be used for help and not for looking for teams, ignore them. Until there is an actual LFG channel available to all, the help channel is the best source. -
Those IOs are too easy to get in game for that price point. It doesnt take half a month of playtime (900pts worth) to get them.
Now Kinetic Combats take weeks of farming A-merits to get or you buy off the Auction House for more than an entire set of Touch of Deaths or Mako's go for. I would buy those without hesitation. Multiple times. (Basilisk Gazes are good for that too).
The only motivation I have for buying these is to motivate Marketing to put the IOs I actually want up on the market. -
Quote:The way the system works now, you have to run tips to affirm your heroic or villianous status before the SSA's start awarding Alignment Merits. All,
Anyway, I thought I heard you can get hero merits doing them? If do, how often? I am still unable to make myself do tip missions on a single character long enough to generate hero merits, because I am an altaholic. So if these have a chance to generate hero merits without me having to do 5 missions across 2 nights in a row, I am curious to try.
Thanks,
Lewis
If you cant make yourself run tips now, theres no point in playing SSA's for merits. -

Maaaaaaaaaaaaybe if they were account wide.
And I had more than a day and a half of zombie invasions to use them in.
Next time, bundle the Bloody Bay and Warburg temp powers. People will pay $5 to never have to set foot in there for those again. -
Whatever it is... its not worth the downtime.
-
Quote:Probably because those are the groups available at the minimum level of the trial. Just because its low level content does not exclude high level characters from it. That's one of the best things about this game. Then why do you just fight newbie enemy groups? (Hellion/Lost/Vahz.)
Then why do the rewards at the end of the trial expire at level 20?
Dont know about the Hydra Temps though. To be honest I dont care enough about them to think about it. No one is running this for the temp rewards. Its run for xp, fun, xp, teamage, xp, maybe low level SO drops, and more xp. And that never expires. -
More true now than ever.

Quote:Seems arbitrary. I like the fact that I can take any level toon I'm playing at the time and hop on a quick sewer trial. The xp isnt bad at any level, and I dont always have time to run an ITF or somesuch when I want to make progress.I don't understand why the newbie trial lasts all the way to 50. Surely it should cap at 20?
I also love that I can make a new toon and get it into the 20's quickly to try out all kinds of combos that I didnt have time to try before. I have a bunch of alts now that I never would have made before because I wasnt going to waste a week playing a set that I possibly wont enjoy mid or late game.
DFB isnt just for newbies. -
Quote:Its even easier since the ITrials came out, the Incarnate stores anyway. Every Astral can be converted into a shard courtesy of Astral Christy... and claimed by any toon to boot.Getting the Alpha level shift through shards and Notices was easy before the iTrials came around. Level 50s had nothing to do but do the shard giving tasks.
Nowadays its so much easier to fill Alpha by running iTrials its a shame. I miss shards. . .
Half a dozen BAFs + 1 Kal/WST = instant level shift for any 50 with the slot unlocked. And they can be earned while getting threads and drops on another Incarnate. -
Getting aggro on both AVs in the BAF on my rad defender.
Finding a spawn that makes me go all out on my Illusion/Time... then owning said spawn.
Sending purse-snatching Hellions and Skulls flying with KB powers.
Using Street Justice on... anything.
DISINTEGRATION! DISINTEGRATION SPREAD! DISINTEGRATION SPREAD! DISINTEGRATION SPREAD! DISINTEGRATION! SCOURGE! DISINTEGRATION! SCOURGE! SCOURGE! DISINTEGRATION SPREAD! ...where's my damage numbers? Ah well, stuff's dying! -
Now that this is on the boards, expect it to get fixed.
Edit: What Z said. -
I'm done with all my 50's. Theyre all Incarnated with at least Rares in every slot and have enough Astrals to instantly create a Rare Alpha slot on the next 50 I'll run through the trial grind so they'll be at least +1.
Even if it werent for that, I've been playing my new alts with a bunch of returned old friends who arent VIPs and dont have access. -
Ok then... lets try a different tact.
Whats so much fun with the non-melee characters you enjoy? There ought to be a reasonable likeness somewhere in the melee community.
And I wouldnt write off tanks either... my Shield/Kin tank will probably be my first melee to 50 in all these years. -
Quote:It sucks when a great concept idea gets canned because the powersets are terrible/not fun. I've had a sweet Peacebringer concept for years but the devs seem to refuse to make them fun for me.
For my Brute, it was concept. His name is Kwiturbitchin and is just an interesting thug, using a pipe wrench for a weapon and looking generally scruffy. He's now very slightly incarnate but he's about 4 years old and took ages to get to 50.
As for my shield scrapper, he's come to a grinding halt and frankly I'm not enjoying him.
Anyway, does it have to be a brute or scrapper? You mentioned thorns, and a /thorn dominator spends plenty of time in melee... with lots of runner stopping options.
Or a bane spider if you have SoA access. You liked the mace well enough... and a bane can add some of the blasts for flavor.
And even though you have to pay for it... Street Justice fits a whole lotta concepts... and is easily the most fun on a melee guy I've had! (all both of them that havent been deleted!) -
FWIW, I always run new content at base level the first time so I can concentrate on the story. That said, there are several instances in the First Ward arcs that spawn bosses wether you turned them on or not. Apparations are especially bad at that.
