Nope its fun, but [censored]..seriously in large mobs in PvE it sucks just the way whirlwind does.
In PvP whirlwind rocks, becuase of the no rooted animation, however repel still sucks in PvP -
You might want to reconside fly as a travel power, its a pretty crappy escape power as its slow, low maneveurabilty and can be countered esaily by things like snow storm impale web grenade (which is a temporary power) also air supperiority isn't a good attack on stalkers.
I'd advise SJ or teleport as escape powers on a stalker.
Hasten could use 3 slots, it ensures that placate and AS are as often as possible.
For placate i'd put in 3 recharges and any spares should be range. The extra range in placate will be great if you focus and placate from a far, then sneak up and AS.
integration should be 3 heals 1 endurance redux
dull pain 3 heal 3 recharge
instant healing 3 heal 3 recharge
I'd get rid of leadership if i were you. consider grant invis for team mates? or invisi for you and maybe phase shift for those times where things don't go well in battle.
Also slot hide with 3 defence buffs its the most defence your going to get out of being a regenner.
Oh yeah definately get MoG the only other defencce power in regen next to hide, slot it 1 res damage 3 defence buff 2 recharge. -
I'd say increase density is a must its my teams status protections its also going to be stackable and to me its seems the duration of id is a bit longer. Its a great power i'd definately take it.
Personally i dont think siphon speed can cut it on its own its okay but i prefer superspeed and hasten, hasten is a great power and a must to get get transfusion up as often as possible. from 1-50 i used ss and inert reduction and i thought that was great, i don't really use siphon speed in PvE hasten is a much better option.
Oh and don't get repel it seriously sucks. -
personally i don't like having hover on a kin, or the idea of staying at range-safest place to be with kin is in melee although i don't like hover on any of my toons to be honest, i like staying mobile and 3 slotted hurdle and CJ works wonders for me in PvP and PvE. Personally with kinetics staying in melee so much and iny our caseusing ball of lightening and short circuit your more often or not playing like a blapper and movement is everything.
As for repel i hate the power, it sucks in PvP and way to situational to use in PvE ie it sucks. For PvP i use whirlwind because it supresses rooted and kinetic annimation is notorious for its rooted animation.
Btw if your intrested this is my kin/nrg build and im REALLY happy with it, the build is really about stacking debuffs on the player making them a)unable to move b) not attack because they have no endurance c) any attacks that fire off will have debuffed damage so they hardly scratch me d) they're perma knocked down when sapped out of their shields

Oh and soz for the late reply i've been away for a while -
PvE-fire/ice PvP-fire/fire, in PvP */ice can perform fine although it lacks serious damage, and well fire/fire does have 2 build ups.
-
clearly must be energy melee primary- hardest hitting single target damage, however secondary at the moment is dark armour although im intrested in seein how electrical armour will turnout, energy melee/elec could be awesome. I presume elec will have a recover power
-
fight! fight! fight! fight! woooooooo!!!!
seriously though um any time will do preferably weekdays at night, tomorrow sounds good -
I play nova in Sirens someimes he gets ASed a lot, and with only 2 attacks i dont do well at all solo since i'm built for pure support for the PDs. I buff heal etc and they get the kills.
Although in recluse's victory he'll be a real ******* in PvP like he is in the arena ;o
My controlller rocks in sirens, but i can't kill anything without emp glove. But yeah they are better than defenders, for kinetics i must say its a bloody hard set to play support on in PvP thats why i like to practise with him and well for PvP seeing as i team with the SG and they know my playstyle they know where to go for heals, and how i play.- nova is nice in warburg, but just not sirens, hence why i bring MG a lot.
You need to be very fast in PvP to play a defender and even more so as a kinetic defender- possibly the fastest reflex's needed out of all the other defender primaries as as you know there is a lot to do buffing, healing draining whilst moving. I do that best in warburg. -
Easy one
Dominator for PvP zones and arena
Stalker best for PvP zones-could be good for arena, with a good palyer using placate to full advantage.
A dark mastermind will do well in the arena. My fav PvP mastermind is ninja/dark- although i hate masterminds. wouldnt play one ;o
Rad corrupter will be good to- ice/rad is your best bet for arena 1 vs 1.
Best villain Short answer- dominators. -
Nope it doesnt work through acrobatics, your gona have to toggle knock first then go for powerpush, its a very good power for squishies and is an excellent attack to use before fireing of total focus, (the KB will keep them on the floor for total focus animationm to kick in) with 2 acc 1 recharge you can keep anyone perma grounded.
-
Awwww imaginary beat me to it the PDs do love a challenge, and once we're fully into CoV we'll lay your heroes to rest
-
They have less hp, but they DO have defences (mainly in the form of status protection and final mitigation power) aswell as strong offence unlike controller, defenders and some masterminds, their not as squishy as other ATs and can stand toe to toe against a scrapper, even if they have less hp.
But yes you are right some stalkers can be classes as "squishy" and its the way you build them. -
ZOMG!!!!!!!!!1111111111111 double post, stupid forums
-
heh yeah, stalkers are definately not squishy- they can rack up the highest number of kills out of all the ATs, with ease- that really doesn't cry out as squishy to me.
As for regens, they have least chance against a stalker if you think about it, regens suffer most from alpha strike and high damage coming at a high rate, and that is effectively what a stalker is all about, so basically a regenner has less chance of surviving against a stalker than say an SR scrapper as an sr scrapper has a greater chance to mitigate that AS with defence as rare as it is its true, and even more so at the high end of PvP-elude -
Was browsing the US boards came across this great post, about stalkers check it out and discuss!!!
(No this isn't against stalkers its for them!!)

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't mind stormies being immune to AS. But they're immune to ALL meele classes. Than again, if I see sombody with that aura, I just look for a different target. If he's go friends in that aura, it's only a matter of time before one of them jumps out of it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well actually stormies aren't really immune to melee classes its really the repel that does it for scrappers however in the high end of PvP when epic powers come into play, stormies are far from immune to melee-focussed accuracy the tohitbuff on focused accuracy is huge and cuts through that debuff, giving meleers time to hit build up run in with focussed accuracy get a few hits in and take down the stormy (found that out from fighting nightbringers tank) so we'll see less complaints about stormies from some PvP melee players in recluse's victory, i think. And personally i predict stalkers getting a focused accuracy type power so that'll give them more mileage to take them down.

[I took fly and superspeed to escape his -fly and slow (
[/ QUOTE ]
stalk-obot-dude snowstorm is -fly and a slow which means you have no way of getting away from us stormies if your anchored because your superspeed is reduced to a crawl, i thought you'd start to notice that when fighting my troller botty, Get SJ or TP!!!! i keep telling you!!!!
As for tp foe, well its a good power for stormies on an open map we really need good positioning for cornering our enemies due to repel, and tp foe opens that up to us, so whats the difference between me teleporting you into a wall, and a phonebox? your still going to have a hard time getting away? and we're still using the environment, seriously i dont have a problem with tp foe its an open field tactic, i just dont understand why so many people have respecced into it, we stormies gain from tp foe, there are some ATs and powersets which just don't.
oh yeah guys /stuck is your friend -
unless im battling plight and i take 8minutes to get one kill, defender damage needs a booooooooooossttt i tell ya
A BOOOOOOO00000000SSSTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!! -
okay heres mine, DO
mind/sonic will be awesome, the damage will be great from the damage res debuffs, hold +levitate with sonic siphon wil means you'll be a killer. And well with mind, its the best controller out of the lot, SO definately go for it from speculation your mind/sonic will be great. Its just going to be hard finding responses as it is a very very rare set, shame though as its a bloody effective one on paper. -
If your going pure range on your blaster, don't have powers like bonesmasher and energy punch ie. seriously lacking melee damage, your not going to do well in PvP
-
heh i do love stalker thread, personally i have no problem with stalkers on my defender and controller, for the same reason preparation, the only stalker i have a problem with is spines, mainly because of impale that ranged crit really does it for me, i think botty just needs 1 hit with BU and another to floor my troller and im a stormy
. I run tactics +IR and i see all stalkers except from stealth +hide from a distance i can spot the stalker for a second and then closer i go in he disappears usually i pop an insight or 2 just to take those stealth stalkers.
As for stalkers having one trick hide, bah!!!, they have placate which is an excellent power. For the record on stalker defence if you haev 1 accuracy on youra ttacks and are fighting a well slotted stalker you have no chance and deserve to be ASed 1 accuracyin your attacks is NO way near enough for PvP. That is the problem your having right there.
Also for the OP there really aren't any problems in PvP, peronally i feel that concept builds just don't cut it in PvP, from your posts i think you need to rethink your build to make it more effective in PvP or rethink your tactics. thats all thats needed. -
Don't bother with fear pool, as much as fear is nice you have a hold and as a kin/elec in PvP your a sapper.
So take tesla cage, and short circuit, slot short circuit with endurance drain so you can use it in tie with transference. Your tactic should be transference + short circuit get the enemy into no power so all his toggles have dropped then throw a hold. he'll be helpless and locked down.
As for kinetic powers i can give you a run down of my slotting for PvP aswell as being great in PvE
transfusion- 2 accuracy 3 heal 1 recharge, i run hasten with my build and use ss as a travel power you'll find with hasten running your heal is up every 2 seconds or so, i'd really recommend taking hasten on your build.
siphon power: 2 acc 3 recharge, the damage buff might be poor but the damage debuff is great especially when you get your epic shield. blasters won't even scratch you, if this is stacked enough-great debuff
siphon speed- 2 accuracy 3 recharge 1 slow, The 3 recharge is for stacking excelllent on an opponent he can't move at all stacked with damage debuff while your hasten is up to perma, ever since ED and the kinetics who used hasten this power is definately a necessity. It can serve well as a no suppresion PvP movement power.
speed boost: 3 endurance recovery, take it slot it your team will love you for it, nuff said
increase density: i put 3 res damage, i think it gives a base 25% resistance to smashing and energy damage- so 3 slotted is 39% damage res excellent for DA scrappers lacking energy res aswell as giving squishies KB and status protection- in PvP this is THE kinetic power, especialy now that it has tp foe protection, definately a must.
inertial reduction- i used this from 1-50 on my kin served my well great with superspeed, no suppresion and you can give it to team mates and lowbies in atlas :P great power if you want cheap movement take this.
transference- 2accuracy 2 endurance mod 2 recharge- the best PvP kinetic power by far, this is what makes you a sapper along with short circuit, definately a must power.
fulcrum shift- 2 accuracy 3 recharge- incredible power in PvE not so impressive in PvP requires a lot of AoE, but works well against masterminds, with al their henchmen. you wont be using it that much in PvP but can be used with siphon power with extra debuff.
ALl in all with a kin/elec build your going to be the best sapper in game, definately have to take short circuit, i'd prolyl slot it 2 accuracy 3 endurance drain 1 recharge? maybe 2 acc 2 endurance 2 recharge, but you want it up quite often and use it with transference for complete drainage.
I'd still advise in your respec to take hasten and ss, you really won't regret it, for other pool powers i have fitness, and leadership (+perception) and leaping (i use CJ+hurdle with ss for PvP-no inertial reduction)
hope that helps, oh and sorry about spelling -
heh on my kinetic, im always watching health bars and endurance if someone ends a fight with low endurance i consider myself doing a bad job, thats my mentality when it comes to big teams i always have the buffs bar open and i have to have the whole team perma buffed, if someone goes "sb plz" i consider myself doing a bad job, as its my job to keep them perma buffed with speed boost or increase density.
Thats how i've played and always will with my defender, and it makes it more fun for me i always have something to dobut yeah i hate beeing on teams with other defenders and everyone else has ID and protected from status and im not, so when im stunned my effectiveness is lowered, don't like that at all. Always carry bfs is all i can say, when teaming my inspirations is fully of bfs and awakens
-
On my defender
loves: tanks especially fire tanks, just sapp all the endurance and their done for. I also like some blasters except */nrg blasters they hit very hard if their good, so can be nasty/
hate: controllers especially rad or storm and anything with can accuracy debuff, the rest you can guess why. regen scrappers my damage is so low that by the time i drop them to half health dull pain or reconstruction is back up, also spines is a nasty set.
On my controller i love fighting most things don't have any problems, fighting other storm controllers is annoying, also illusionists do my head in because of PA and spec terror all those pets just distract the imps. >_>
Also /agree with everything lexce said
