  1. Fair enough with your points.

About the immobilze your missing the point, it does -fly. Which is pretty good to have in PvP. AoE sleep is complete [censored] in teams and with your tanker, AoE sleep and then wake them up with footstomp, or another memeber of your team has AoE. Its a pants power and is reason why most trollers avoid it in the high level. Single target immobilze is just for PvP, you don't even have to use it for PvE. I wouldn't take a sleep power for a tanker, but hey your choice.

Stalagmites isn't really a damage power its a control tool, its like the controller version. If your concerned about endurance cost stick redux in this power, or just give it a miss. Hand clap does disorient to but spreads mobs which can be annoying for teams. I notice you don't have hasten, why don't you just pick hasten and 3 slot it for recharge. Hasten always helps a build.

    Jump Kick?

Nothing wrong with it in the early levels, just make sure you get rid of it later on.

Slotting your single target immobilze for damage is great for damage to.
  3. Ice/elec should be great, I'd advise following imaginary's builds.

Wow that is incredible, especially how its on artpad, i mean compare it to xanthus's artpad drawing on his sig lol

    great job!

    uggggllllyyyyy....

Happy Birthday TG, Have a great one
  6. heh anytime man

Good luck with your new character
  7. When PvP zones first came out, I was playing on my defender in bloody bay just messing about getting some badges. I see a speech bubble behind me going

"hahaha you can't see me your going to die"

I just laughed, popped 2 insights and killed the stalker, he goes

    "aww you h4x"

    funniest thing ever!
  8. Dark/Ninjitsu would be hella cool, great concept and great in PvP.

Ninjitsu has a great self heal, fear resistance clickable status protection, same defence to melee and range as super reflex's provided you didn't take the SR passives. Only problem with ninjitsu is you don't have quickness which has slow res, also you have no knockback protection so most ninjitsu stalkers are forced into leaping pool- which isn't a bad thing as SJ is the best escape power for a stalker.
  9. I would think it is worth taking, one of the main reasons why fire secondary on a dominator is one of the best.

I'd recommend blazing bolt, it's one of the Dom's highest damage attacks and thats what you want-damage?

  10. essell!!! haha good to see you man! Long time no see, remember darkstalker, when we used to team during the teen levels in like issue 3, along with kreternal!

Great to see you again matey
  11. Hey Capt

Took a quick look and i hope your not relying on those tohitbuffs in invincibilty to be enough for your accuracy, It's now issue 6! Can't do that anymore and get away with half decent accuracy, especially in PvP. Stick accuracy in your attacks, 2acc 3 damage 1 endredux.

Shame your not going body mastery because tankers are one of the AT's have access to one of the most overpowering powers- focussed accuracy. Ah well concept all the way.

For your epics, get rid of salt crystals-it's [censored].

Take Stone Prison- the single target immobilze does -fly very powerful in PvP and as your lacking in range it will really help.

Get rid of Hand Clap, I'd take stalagmites instead, the power looks a LOT better, and is a cool ranged stun. 2acc 2 recharge i'd say
  12. eh, thaw gives res to slow aswell btw, which is priceless in PvP. I would take a traps corrupter over a thermal who didn't have thaw, thats how much of a must thaw is. Even traps has force field generator which gives status protection!
  13. here's a pretty "uber" build for PvP, and very very good in PvE. What are your thoughts lode? If you wanted cobra strike and MoG you can scrap leadership. ALso mess around with order of powers.

Btw how come you want to start over with your ma/regen when a free respec with issue 7 is due?

  15. I don't know if i qualify to be moderator, but yeah i'm offering to help.

    Great idea imag.
  16. lol nightbringer, awesome post lol

    And i don't disagree at all, PDs/innermonkey teams> defiant.
  17. heh thanks mate, this game really does grab you by the balls, look foward to seeing you in game

Fair enough if you team with kin's regularly, then you can forget about the redux.

One thing in teams of 5, you forget that you'll be using your other powers (i hope ) so endurance does become a bit hefty if you don't have a buffer as back up.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
hmm, i tend to disagree with you, maybe its because of what groups i fight. usually, i (used to be) am in an 8 man group on invincible or maybe unyielding.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, i actually retired my katana/da scrapper however i have also been in such teams.

    [ QUOTE ]
Death Shroud, yes, quite an end cost, but run herostats, it actually does quite nice damage, those ticks tend to rack up very nicely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't take this because it doesn't do enough damage for my liking aswell as that its DoT, i would rather have another single target attack to chain my other attacks.

    [ QUOTE ]
Opressive Gloom, it stops the minions from running very nice, so they stay in DS/SD/DR/DC range. The end is quite low, and the hp loss is manageable.

[/ QUOTE ] Hp loss is minimal your right it does take minions out of the fight but i'd rather have tough, but thats a PvP thing as i said before. ALso opppresive gloom does disorient the enemies just "wander" about aimlessly.

    [ QUOTE ]
Health Slots, there to counter OGs hp dropping.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You don't need them there, i just think it would be better used somwhere else.

    [ QUOTE ]
Acc in DC/DR/SD, i rarely fight only 1 opponent, and in big groups, with the AoE cap in place, it tends to hit quite enough (4 for DR/DC, and as much as possible for SD). Also, running FA helps this quite a bit aswell.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah sounds reasonable, howeever I'd micromanage toggles incase i had no buffer for endurance, so i wouldn't be running focussed accuracy all the time. Difference in playstyle.

    [ QUOTE ]
I've fought with tough (its even in my current build) but all it does to me is suck endurance. DAs has more than enough defenses to holds its own in the set itself (resists and very importantly, dark regeneration).

    [/ QUOTE ]

PvE i guess you could say it can support itself but in PvP it can't without tough, i also suggested this because DA lost a lot of s/l res during ED. tough makes it up, also with slotting it with 3 endurance redux its manageable. Funny how you say it just sucks endurance, i feel the same with death shroud

    [ QUOTE ]
Also, in PvP, soul drain sucks, i'd rather have a 'real' build-up (for PvP only! in PvE, soul drain is the best you can get) Soul Drain is only better than build-up after 5 or 6 mobs, you hardly fight that much in PvP (well, that they all are close enough to SD off anyway)

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah your right it does suck in comparison to build up in PvP but i thought i'd just mention that little trick when fighting in PvP zones use your resources and its a means to boost damage and get more kills.

    [ QUOTE ]
As to your closing statement, to be very good in PvE with DA, you need at least OG or CoF imho. OG/CoF beat (for example) Tough in damage mitigation with a huge difference. Also, having DS really helps, those ticks stack up to be quite a portion of your damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

you really don't need them to be very good in PvE, being good in PvE is about your primaries and how you use them not your secondaries. Secondaries are to support your primary- scrapping, in your build your sacrificing scrapping attack chains for to much from your secondary thats why i'd suggest dropping certain powers, just so you have an extra attack like laser beam eyes, so you can chain better.

    PvP Respec

Just thought i'd pitch in an idea which i'm doing for my fire/storm controller. For PvP i'll be taking ice epic (yeah thats right)

What does storm lack? self heal....endurance recovery problems, your answer- hibernate, slot this with 3 heal/3recharge. If your in duals or team matches and your enduranace or health is running low, hit hibernate, none of your toggles are dropped, and health and endurance are back up to full. Not only that you have the hardest hitting blast out of all epics. However you will be sacrificing armour, although defence armour and tohit debuff could mix well.
  20. Haven't read the whole thread...

anyway its a pride thing, getting killed in 1-2 shots generally will aggravate people and hurts their pride because they've they die so fast. Let alone people don't grasp that its a stalkers job to kill in such a way. Slippery slope kicks in, complaints about being 1-2 shotted, this spreads around the boards, dev's then listen to the crybabies and nerf them.

Stalkers were fine as they are now, yet alone the dev's haven't realised how pants their going to be in recluse's victory....

w00t range snipe....who cares its resistable damage. squishies now have shields. Stalkers are now just scrapper/tank meat.
  21. I think most brutes feel this way, when their in PvE they feel invincible but as soon as they step into PvP, they get royally owned.

Obviously one of the reasons behind this is toggle drops, which will be toned down in i7.

In the mean time, brutes should always have a corrupter behind them. corrupters really are the most powerful villain AT and a godsend to teams, they have the best buffs in game. A brute with forge, and a couple of fire shields is a force to be reckoned with.

Also regarding not killing them i'm curious to see your attack slotting, most PvE brute slot something like 2acc 2 recharge 2 endurance redux or such, so they can build fury fast. Thats one of the main problems with brutes in PvP their PvE slotting also brutes, well they will never rule the zones solo, as most their damage comes from fury and in PvP theres jst not enough time to build it solo. In issue 7 howeever with level 40-50 and more villain vs hero team battles, with a corrupter having your back, you should be good to go, and be able to build fury with ur frontline nature.

    Ice/Elec PvP

Regarding Sgt Furnace's build for PvP:

(If your low on slots you can take them out of ice bolt)

1)Stick tohit buffs on aim and build up, they'll help you hit through things such as pff. 3 recharge 3 tohit for PvP

2)Swift and hurdle over health, mobility is one of the key things that determine the outcome of the match.

3)Take the defence buffs out of combat jumping keep it with 1 jump enhancement and transfer the left over 2 slots into hurdle, that way you can have unsuppresed jumping for your blaster.

    4) I personally feel that your attack slotting should be 2 accuracy 3damage 1 endurance redux, you have more than enough attacks required and constantly attacking will mean empty bar of endurance.

    5) I'd take freeze ray earlier, it will help you in PvE aswell as a hold is very useful in zones such as sirens call.

Apart from that your build will be great for PvP, don't bother taking air supp and fly, their pants in PvP, and you don't have the endurance for assault and tactics.

    Blaster= Hurt stuff.

    Hope that helps at all.

Edit: don't know if electric fence has a -fly component to it, if so stick 2 accuracy in there.
  23. Few things

I'd drop death shroud, by taking this power you are hurting your attack chain and replacing it with something that does [censored] AoE damage and hogs endurance. I'd get rid of it and get laser beam eyes..i'd say you could pick shadow punch, but laser beam eyes does more damage and is ranged. Death shroud is just a strain on your endurance its a waste, no point in taking it.

I'd give oppressive gloom a miss to its not THAT helpful in PvE imo no point useless toggles it hurts your endurance and effectiveness in PvE aswell as PvP.

Take slots out in health, slotting it is a waste. the regen is pathetic. I would pick up hurdle instead mobility is everything.

Stick 2 accuracy in soul drain amd dark consumption. I'd even put 3 acc 3 recharge (i wouldn't be running focussed accuracy 100% of the time) you wan't these to hit all the time even when fighting hi level mobs.

ALso worth recommending tough, the s/l res really does help.

Here is a build i made.

I'm looking at this in a PvP aswell as PvE perspective, with this style of build and carful managment of toggles, you could be very viable in PvP. Even nicely in PvP zones park yourself next to some lowbie foes soul drain them, you have a huge tohit buff and damage buff (greater than build up) and lasts 30seconds, find an enemy and destroy him

Heck even in arena, open the battle with conserve power and fire away

I think that would be an effective build for level 50 PvP and very good in PvE.

    Hope that helped somewhat.
  24. nice build, few notes for PvP

Thermal has no endurance recovery powers or such, and on the battlefield you'll be reapplying shields all the time aswell as using your other powers. I'd recommend taking some slots out of your single target heal and stick endurance redux in fire shield, plasma shield, thaw. This will help you a lot in battle. Sacrifice a range at the moment and stick endurance redux if you don't have slots. Then with your slots in the 40-50 zone stick ranges in the shields, or even take slots out of ice blast.

Also tohitbuffs in aim, you don't want to miss with ur debuffs as they have a long recharge.

    Looks real good.
