Fire/kinetic controller. Fire/kinetic=ownage
Fire's main control comes from the flashfire+fire cages stun and immobilze combination, so if you use that combo on a mob with a boss in it, the ma/sr can run in and stun the left over boss in one go (stacking stuns between you two)
And well, kinetics is a scrappers best friend.
Other options could be illusion/empathy
But can't go wrong with fire/kinetics you'll be up there next to her amongst the mobs buffing, healing etc and basically destroying the groups with zero downtime at an insane rate! -

I think it is a good idea for a blaster to have acrobatics and aid self for PvP, there are so many knockback/down powers in this game acrobatics for a squishy is invaluable. I went with medicine pool as obviously a self heal can be the key to what wins the fight.
I don't think there is much point in taking blazing aura if your already taking hot feet. It may be an idea to slot accuracys in your hot feet (hero builder wouldn't let me) so hot feet will unhide a stalker, you can then lay down burn patch to ensure hide doesn't come back up and basically lay the stalker to rest. Slows in hot feet could also be a good idea when dealing with a non SR stalker.
I took power bolt ahead of energy torrent it does more damage, their aren't many options there except for combustion which is cack in PvP routes you and most of the damage is DoT which can be annoying, the upfront damage is poor. So power bolt is the way to imo, with energy the 3 solid range attacks are power bolt, powerblast,power burst.
With fire sword circle, it is one GREAT PvE power, but I wasn't sure wether to take this or sniper blast. I think fire sword circle has a toggle drop capability?????
Oh yeah no accuracies in nova, always use aim +BU before you use it, it'll hit everytime and slots can be used elsewhere.

hehe not overkill 4stacked sb for insane recharge buff and limitless endurance come to think of it ignite is unbuffable untill i7 stacked melt armour +ignite would be ownage

I'd like to see an 8man AR team. 4AR/thermals 4AR/kinetics.
4stack melt armour on a mob, along with fulcrum shift. Hit ignite (AR's burn patch)= instant dead mob. -
Interesting point about the trailing issue, never really thought about that.
Imo it's still quite track the sniper and actually kill him because of the monster range. Hit the person with snipe then fly back up outta range, team can't reach you unless once has fly- in that case either way your screwed.
I'd like to see an elec/devices for that style of play it has aim,hold,snipe, ranged nuke,little pet could be handy to.
heh oh yeah AR/devices seems to be FoTM on defiant though

heh after reading your post its so ironic now. At the start of CoV and PvP zones it was heroes doing the tp foe out of base trick, and phonebox trick etc. etc. And now its the villains doing it, seems fair to me their getting there own back on the heroes
Both ways it was a weak tactic, and really for a defensive/ganking playstyle, who are probably ineffective at playing aggresively.
Maybe try flying way up high above them so your outta tp foe range? If you have ss keep moving so its harder to target you. Also when you come out of sirens don't go out the front exit go around the inside bit of the hospital.
I agree bases tend to have a weak design. You could maybe have the drones give tp foe resitance like they give +perception. -
Power build up is mainly used atm to buff the endurance drain for say kinetic/elecs or kinetics/* in PvP. It does buff speed boost's endurance recovery, only thing is duration is to short to buff a whole team with built up sb. Power build up is also good for a tohitbuff with aim. I hear their allowing power build up to buff transfusion, so transfusion +powerbuild up will be healing insane amounts of damage.

Fire/storm does insane damage aswell and more visual with the flashfire+firecages+hotfeet+freezing rain+fireball+imps+lightning storm combo.
Only problem is by the end of it you want have any endurance
Fire/kinetics is serious ownage and least downtime out of the sets. -

I think a PvP build would do awesome in PvE aswell, and you'll be damn effective in both, only difference is less AoE damage which could arguably effect punchvoke however chilling embrace often sorts that out, along with spamming your attacks. Single target attacks often use less endurance aswell.
Energy mastery is useful in PvE because of conserve power. Focused accuracy can allow you to manage your slots and slot something like 1accuracy 3damage 2 endurance redux or even miss out the accuracy in PvE and slow your attacks with damage endrdx and recharge.
If you want AoE you could even get the crappy damage energy torrent
Pyre mastery could even be useful in PvP hold is always good and fire blasts do the highest damange iirc. But hey focused accuracy is uber, yo. -
Fought one the last night in sirens NB, the trick arrow powers were damn effective on my stalker, completely screwed up his movement, the sticky arrow is really nasty. -jump.
I think in the high end of PvP it'll be really effective. That sticky arrow is pretty uber, aswell as immobilze for containment and extra hold.
Matron had a grav/trick arrow and did really well in PvP zones aswell, mainly because he screwed up so many villains movement, and hit them with containment damage.
Edit: Oh yeah pretty sure i read they lowered animation times for arrow powers. Fire already has short animation times. -
Ah okay maybe I wasn't making myself clear, yes i am a PvPer, I am one of those few who try and use arena when it is open but I am interested in trying to make the arena more popular and have more organised battles, Why in your people do defiant not use the arena? I had organized a few free for all battles long time ago, aswell as a couple of teammatches, but then again there is always a lack on interest in the arena why is that?
As for PvP zones, its a mixture, sometimes it can be real busy others it can't, yes it normally if TG is there it is busy, but if someone calls heroes and villains wanted in sirens for battle, most of the time no one is there to answer, along with anyone want a team battle in the arena? no one replies, look at PDs no one wants to fight them, they even offer to mix up players just form team battle still no one replies. Why is this? I just would like to know each of your opinions.
PvP is not dead, its seriously lacking and from what i've heard union is much more active. -

Just curious has the PvP just died on defiant, I know arena was never that popular, but long time ago when some open event was held in arena everyone would flock there and have a great time. I personally though arena usage would increase over time. But its just a ghosttown now. To be honest PvP zones seem to be getting much quieter to.
Is there any particular reason why the defiant's don't PvP? I would like to hear your thoughts on the arena? What could be done to attract interest amongst the 50s for some high level matches, just for some genuine fun.
I mean union our comrades have much more PvP on their server, I would personally like to see more PvP activity on this server, we have some great players on this server and I think we owe it to ourselves to get into the thick of things more.
I don't want this thread to turn into, for PvP we need right builds we R teh gimpz0r, i get owned i r teh gimp, X and Y are overpowered
I would like to see if people are actually interested in some balanced matches, and hopefully boost PvP activity here. -
Well to be honest with that build you have it is quite old, and the slotting in it is really quite weird aswell as power choices such as conserve power and thunder kick.
Genuinely with a regen scrapper who has stamina and quick recovery-attack slotting would be: 2accuracy 3damage 1recharge
If you have focussed accuracy it is possible to slot: 1accuracy 3damage 2recharge allowing faster cycle off attack
Personally I feel the 2accuracy in the attacks are a comfort blanket for me, and in PvP focussed accuracy can be toggle knocked.
The slotting of regen powers seem okay. and focus chi has the best slotting.
Personally I would follow my build, but instead of the leadership build, you could have cobra strike and MoG. (I for one am not taking leadership on my scrapper)
Thunder kick cobra strike and eagles claw could stun an AV, but so can storm kick cobra strike and eagles claw. Ever since the changes in damage I would not take thunder kick, crippling axe kick is the one to go for.
In the build I posted I 3slotted health and fast healing, with that and 3slotted integration that is the highest possible regen alone, with no instant healing or outside buffs.
I will be taking MoG in my build as a fun power, it'll also be fun to use in the last 3minutes of an arena fight to score some more kills and run through force bubble and hurricane.

Hmm your build seems really really toggle heavy and there are a few unecessary toggles like tough and icicles, personally i feelt these powers for what they do are a waste of endurance. You missed perma frost which gives res to slow which is really handy.
I thought i'd post my idea of a PvP/PvE build. I'd like to hear your opinion of it.

It's more single target harder hitting build which is from PvP. Basically i was going to include medicine but theres no point in having that if you have hibernate which is a great power in PvP imo. For PvE in my experience of teaming with ice tanks they can hold aggro perfectly with CE, taunt is there for PvP which is really annoying to have in PvP. I also included focussed accuracy as i think that power is fantastic its one of the most powerful self buff powers. and you can even slow 1accuracy 3damage 1recharge1endurance redux with it and hit fine. I slotted shields for 3endurance redux just to completely hack down endurance costs those slots can easily be transferable. Also included CJ and hurdle with ss that travel power is great. You could even get rid of conserve power and have SJ, as i doubt with this build you'll have endurance problems.
What do you think? -

You have insanely high damage sets! It only gets better, wait for inferno and total focus with a dash of aim and build up, recipe for destruction ^^ -
Definately a different troller build which i'm a fan off
For ice control:
I would drop frostbite, the AoE immobilze is pointless as you already will be using ice patch as your main control tool. So AoE immobilze and knockdown don't mix well at all. I would get the single target immobilze instead and slot it for damage, with containment the single immobilze can do nice damage.
For Flashfreeze, i would drop it to, i don't think a sleep is that useful, unless your going to use it to achieve containment status. I would drop this power aswell.
I would take arctic air instead of these powers. The AoE slow is great, aswell as confuse it is very handy imo.
For your sonic powers i would drop the single target buffs, sonic for a controler losses quite a bit of resistance to damage, thats why a sonic defender is always better to have than a sonic controller. It's actually the only set which is better than on a defender rather than a controller. So in my opinion i'd drop these buffs. Maybe take speed pool for extra hold spamming or acrobatics for self protection, a controller is better doing his job standing up than lying on his back.
Out of sonic i would take:
Sonic siphon: 2 acc 3 recharge (spam -res on the mobs)
Sonic Cage: 2acc 1recharge (good for taking the biggest threat out of the fight)
Disruption field:3endrdx maybe recharges i don't know recharge stats on this
Sonic Dispersion: as you've slotted
Clarity: as you've slotted
Liquefy: 2acc 3recharge (xanth claims this power is pants) But maybe good to use with ice patch, so up as often as possible!

For duals i usually listen to something fast paced to get the reflexes up.
If i team with the PDs i'm normally on TS, if its Pickup PvP team again something fast paced.
Muse-hypermusic is pretty good to listen to, and generally their faster stuff.
PvP zones maybe some hip hop stuffI like everything!

Thanks for the comment kinslayer, nightbringer is right to slot ranges on his buffs, I will be doing that in the 40-50, when i have extra slots so i will have 3damage res 2range 1 endurance redux. Thaw will also have 3ranages 1 endurance redux.
Reason for ranges is to make it easier to buff while in a team match. With all your team mates moving its a nightmare to follow each of them and buff, range helps this a lot. I plan on my team having perma thaw on them, so they don't get held in the first place. Also the slow res is invaluable.
As for CJ, and acro, i'd rather sacrifice those because there are so many good powers at those levels.
I'll also get rid of rise of the phoenix for an arena PvP build. -

yeah totally agree with that, most people don't understand that FoTM are not insta win buttons in the game eg. storm
Union seems better for PvP than defiant, looking at test server and such.
