Quote:He gets Westin Phipps to do it.Lord Recluse is smart, he keeps the masses dumbed down to prevent revolution!
Now I'm getting a mental image of Miss Francine's reformed and edumacated Freakshow setting up underground classrooms and educating the masses, and inciting them to revolt.

They ARE still Freaks, after all. -
Quote:Besides, even for a "straight damage" AT, DPS calculations aren't everything. A Scrapper contributes nothing if they're faceplanted because they haven't paid attention to their secondary. A Blaster contributes nothing if they're faceplanted because they don't know where to stand or how to manage their aggro. You also create and encourage competition where none currently exists, or should exist, thereby fostering an environment of discontent and an erroneous belief that X doesn't contribute because X wasn't doing something that was tracked by UberSpecialMeter, or Y can't contribute because Y doesn't have a resume in the form of sixteen pages of IO set bonuses.
What would it accomplish? Just like being able to see people's set bonuses, it would give me something to do while waiting for the TF to start. That's about it. It wouldn't wreck the game or cause some "super elite super sekrit you must have spent this many billions on your build to ride" club, just like IOs didn't. It's a lot of work for practically no benefit though. If you want to compare DPS, go beat up a pylon and post about it on the Scrapper forums. -
Quote:MA simply being included in new issues results in things like a lot of people not knowing, months after the fact, that the ally XP nerf had been rolled back. MA is not new, not shiny, and doesn't let you color your Shadowfall puke green or annihilate a mob of Council Empire three seconds faster. As far as people right now being busy with I19 goes, while that is true it's neither here nor there since there is always new stuff like I16, I17, I18, etc. Bottom line is if MA problems are not addressed and if MA is not included in new issues, it will crumble more as time goes on.
WN
We go months between issues. Those are perfect times for the devs to devote a teeny bit of attention to promoting MA, just as everyone is getting bored with the new shiny and thinking of letting their subscriptions lapse until the next issue comes out. -

Kidnapping Survival 101: Curriculum includes "How to follow the hulking 8-foot glowing guy who is really really trying very hard to show you the way out of the warehouse full of supervillains who are trying to kill you," "Crey are nothing like the image they present on TV," "Safe and proper transportation of glowing green rocks" and "Why you should never follow the hulking 8-foot guy covered in spikes and skulls who just threatened to break both your legs." Course requirements include a jacket with pockets big enough to fit all your stuff, so you don't have to carry a purse, and a Rectified Reticle: Increased Perception IO.

Quote:And/or add two or three more slots through vet rewards. And let people buy more than five if they want. That's probably even easier. It will eventually become noticeable when authors they like start leaving or just can't/won't write new arcs. I do feel this would be much less of a problem if the hour or so it would take to lower HoF was spent and if DCs were actually awarded regularly by more than one person.
WN
Still won't fix the other HoF problems though, which affect far more people than the one or two that are out of slots or nearly out of slots and have a snowball's chance in hell of attaining HoF if the requirements were lowered. Still won't fix the bigger problem of getting more people to play AE arcs, getting more people to play a greater variety of AE arcs, and making it as easy as possible for those people to find stuff they want to play. -
Quote:No, you do not. Many maps have a clear, one-room "Front" and "Back" area that you can easily fill with a different enemy group while leaving the rest of the map to spawn normally. You're just going to have to spawn the map as empty and manually fill in the mobs via spawn points. Then just fool around with the spawn points until you get some consistency.
You do, of course, need to test your map a few times to make sure it spawns properly. But you should be doing that anyway. -

Quote:Too...many....War Walkers? There is no such thing as too many War Walkers.Apex is definitely more tedious. The first mission is slogging through hotspots outside then more inside the sewers, then too many War Walkers.
Quote:The second mission isn't fun at all and extremely tedious. We managed the first part fairly easily but the second part is where it breaks down; the "Halberd Death Waves" should at least not spawn at the entrance to the outside area.
I've only done these new TFs once, with an all-Scrapper team on test server, and they were hella fun. Part of that was that everything is level 54, so you don't have to find seven people willing to crank the difficulty to the point where a full team is actually required rather than redundant. More team content should be like that. -

Xs are bosses, 0s are rescues, and filled in dots are any. The "boss" and "any" spawn points are where enemies normally spawn on a map, so in order to fill a room with an enemy group, you need to fill those. The "rescue" spawn points will remain empty unless you put something there.
You can tell how many you need by looking at the map info. Let's say you want to fill the front room with Crey. Your map allows 11 boss spawn points (3 front, 5 middle, 3 back) 6 rescues (1 front, 4 middle, 1 back) and 6 any detail (1 front, 4 middle, 1 back). You can ignore the rescue spawn points, add 4 Crey boss, destructible, or patrol details, and set them to "front" and you will have a front room full of Crey, unless one of the patrols moves before the player reaches them. You do not have to add any rescue details to make sure there is nothing but Crey in the front room. -
Being out of slots is only a problem for a few authors. It is also completely irrelevant from a player's perspective. The things that are relevant to EVERYONE, authors and players alike, include the crappy search function and ratings system. They are broken. They are not WAI. Adding new maps and NPCs is like slapping fancy decals on your car when your brakes aren't working reliably.

The Safeguard and Mayhem maps were never in MA.
The Shadow Shard Nemesis base was added in i19. There aren't any other Shadow Shard maps available, and there never have been. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure someone hit me with Aid Other at some point. So we had a h34l0rz.All of the complaints against both of those TFs being too hard without "the right team setup" can be safely thrown out the window. We had no Temporary Powers, no debuffs, no heal others, no buffs from others (except for some that had Leadership pool), and I think only two people that had Ranged attacks.

Quote:Here, have some Praetorian maps, and some Praetorian enemies. But not all the enemies, just some. Now stop bugging us.That is one of the most infuriating things I've seen that shows that the sorting function wholeheartedly stinks. How in the world can an arc go from 925 plays and 5 stars, the very first arc (non DC/GA/HoF) and after probably 1-2 votes get knocked down to page 21 for 4-star rated arcs? That makes no sense whatsoever!
And I just realized that the default sort order for all arcs goes like this:
Guest Author
Dev Choice
Hall of Fame
5-star arcs
unplayed arcs
1-star arcs
2-star arcs
3-star arcs
4 star arcs
Really? Really? I mean, really? -
You can't. The slider does nothing on random rolls. People in the market forum have been pushing for that to change for ages. You will always get a level 50 or the max level of the recipe.

Quote:This rant lacks spelling errors, and isn't a single run-on sentence. Please take your high and mighty attitude and three university degrees elsewhere. The accuracy nerf to purple drops are costing too much endurance in AE, which has completely wrecked PvP. Furthermore, now that no one plays tankers anymore because brutes can go to blue side, flippers have made it impossible to buy any recipes useful to stalkers, who can't go on TFs because they have too much single target damage. Unfortunately, because AE babies don't know how to access the new content without a server merge, CoH is doomed to buy Going Rogue, and badgers are spamming Atlas Park with questions about how to get to the ferry. The new Ultra Mode graphics are preventing people with Storm Summoning from getting on teams which is a problem because knockback is the best mitigation other than intangibility, unless you are fighting enemies with redraw.
-
That requires 1: knowing what to spend your tickets on; 2: knowing which recipes are desirable and which are vendor trash; and 3: knowing how to use the market properly. It also assumes people actually care about earning inf and aren't all about the UBER XPEEEZ so they can get to 50 as fast as possible and complain about the price of purples.

Probably me. Those War Walkers seemed to dislike me a lot, although it could have been the tentacle comments.
So would I. I'd also team a lot more if everything was +4 all the time. -
Yeah, seriously. If Cole wants to try to invade us, he's gonna need more Scrappers.

I died, um...I lost count of how many times on Apex. Cursed death patches of death.
Only once on Tin Mage though. Kinda, um, forgot how much AAO makes stuff hate you. -
Just to make sure: This is on the regular Training room, not the beta server, and it's 9 PM EST?
-
Well, my static team looks like a no-go again, so I'm updating my Test server now.
Darkfire Avenger, DM/SD. -
That isn't a "glorified EB." That's just an EB. And those EBs were AVs first, they were just scaled down to make them soloable. The default setting for them is AV. The difficulty slider defaults to "no AVs" because most players can't or don't want to solo them.

Quote:Blasters can do this too, they just might need a few inspirations first. I just popped Eye of the Magus, Vanguard, held him and slow-roasted him to death.A MM or scrapper can just run in and beat him to death without caring about the bifurcations.
For everyone else, I just pull him to the hallway.
Do they bifurcations give him a to-hit buff as well, or do I need to sacrifice another Chief Soldier to the RNG gods?
