I find it completely unsurprising that the filter still isn't fixed. Until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume the devs don't care about the filter issue anymore, and we're supposed to shut up and be excited over the new shiny, and consider a dev's choice a month until they get too busy/distracted to be the extent of their attention to AE for the next year or so.

By the way, have another /em headdesk moment: I finally fixed my broken arc. Turns out one of the problem objectives was a "Damaged computer." "Damage" is apparently copyrighted. I have said it before and will say it again: the swear filter can go suck on a rusty railroad spike.

    I enjoyed that!

I will have to agree with you there. Although of course, like any cutscene, I can't help but be reminded of that conversation in the Incredibles: "And what does Baron von Ruthless do? He starts monologuing!"

I think I may have been on one of these "like clockwork" runs today. What happened was, all the Warworks on the catwalks died very very quickly. Which left everyone who wasn't the tank with very little to do while the tank dragged Anti-Matter around to the terminals.

Maybe they drop automatically into your tray...they most certainly didn't drop automatically into mine. Granted, my main trays are all full of powers I use all the time and not just on one trial, so I guess I'm doing it wrong.

What's broken for who now? I crashed out of Keyes today (at the very start) and was able to rejoin just fine.

At this point I might just make her an optional boss without a fail condition attached. Ah well, her killing the character is enough of a fail condition =P Thanks for the responses, all!
Well you could use dialogue to indicate that fighting the EB might be a bad idea.

Yeah, but what if they happen to choose a worthy arc to play every week? It all depends on how well they choose what to play and review.

Do Rogue escorts still remain passive? Betraying allies immediately become aggressive now, because they give XP.
  7. It was a required escort set to Rogue alignment, with no guards. It immediately became hostile when "rescued."

Can you make an escort betray as soon as they're rescued? Or do you have to complete the escort objective first? Or perhaps you can chain another objective off the escort rescue, one that is easily completed such as the release of an unguarded captive, then have the escort's betrayal chain off that.

It worked for me too! Markets are down right now or I'd check if the "hide large auction house fee warning" option works too...if these are finally fixed I deem that the best part of this update.
  9. So what with getting free server transfers every month, I'm planning to reroll my MA/Regen Scrapper once i21 goes live. The question is, Shields or Super Reflexes?

Advantages of Shields: +damage, another AoE, taunt aura, +HP

Advantages of /SR: Far more flexible build that will be easier to make exemp-friendly, can hit the "new softcap" without really gimping myself if I feel like doing that.

I'm sticking with Martial Arts as my primary and price is not a concern. So....suggestions?

Should I report the person? Or is that just petty retaliation? Most people don't even give comments when they downvote, and this guy told me exactly why he downvoted it, so should I want him punished for that? Note that I didn't include his name when I mentioned the comment. I'm not sure what to do about it, so it just made me want to give up.
I'd report it. I'm not optimistic enough to think anything will be done about it, but I'd report it anyway, just in case something is. It is most certainly griefing, since people who go around 1-starring know EXACTLY what effects it has on an arc.

You wrote a story arc that uses the system as intended. If someone doesn't like it and rates low based on that, sure, ok. But if someone downvotes you simply because you're using the AE for its intended purpose and not as a farm tool, they're being an ***hat.

I hereby propose we lobby for the removal of shoulder kittens and anime hair from the game.

I'm pretty sure I've seen him named as Mot also, but that could have been second-hand information that someone got from the Prima guide and has been accepted as canon. Until stated otherwise, I will keep calling him Mot.

    Quote:
It's quite possible that the Sleeper was totally separate, and just (relatively) recently discovered by the BP. It is an *old* creature, though.
Yep, that's why there's a few in-between steps between what has been stated in canon and "the CoT bound Mot" hypothesis. The CoT are old but they're not Great Old One old. Then again, Mot could have been running wild and free until they got tired of him doing that and put him to sleep....and even if he was like that when they found him, the CoT have been here for a while, plenty of time to study the existing bindings and make sure they stick.

I did a brief search on Paragonwiki and now I'm confused. It was Tielekku who banished the Banished Pantheon a long long time ago...but Lughebu found out about the Sleeper recently. This implies that the Sleeper has been sleeping longer than the Banished Pantheon has been banished....which would likely predate the CoT and would probably be beyond their power level anyway. Lore contradictions confuse me. I can see where you might draw that inference, but frankly, that's a whole arc in and of itself.

Fairly certain I used an in-game contact, Kong Bao - who gives Tsoo missions anyway - for the contact, since he's tied with them in game. Never checked to see that the in-game bio transferred, I suppose. I'll have to snag it - he is supposed to be the same guy from Skyway, after all.
No, default bios don't transfer, or at least didn't when you published the arc. If he's a canon contact then I must have done his missions a bunch of times....shows how memorable some of those contacts are. Giving him more personality would be totally out of character

Can we at least maybe have the Signature arcs cater to that apparently tiny minority that actually spends some time between level 30 and 50 doing something other than back-to-back ITFs?
  17. Yeah, it needs some work....*cracks knuckles.* Ok, here goes:

This arc does look dated. It's very bare-bones, which we could get away with back then, but now, not so much for a lot of people. Uneven level ranges spread cooties and may contribute to global warming. I suggest replacing the high level Banished Pantheon with your garden variety low-level Banished Pantheon and making the whole arc 20-30. Story-wise it fits that range, and Tsoo at those levels aren't full of *$!?# Blue Inks, and are more fun to fight. I wouldn't use the "custom critters" tag for it either, since I counted a grand total of one custom critter. Using the "magic" tag might be a good idea though.

The story itself progresses fairly logically, although there are a few rather jarring jumps that could be smoothed over...more on that later. At some point it's also mentioned that the CoT bound the Sleeper....did they? I think that's wrong, might wanna double-check.

The contact needs a bio. He doesn't really have much in the way of personality either, he's just kinda the "do this" guy....if that's his sole purpose that's fine, but at least tell us who he is.

There's a bit of tone dissonance throughout as well, in that it's a fairly serious "stop the bad guys from doing bad stuff" story but you threw in a bunch of puns and "why don't bad guys ever conduct rituals on sunny beaches?" jokes seemingly for the heck of it. The two don't really mesh. I'd also watch the "you think"-type dialogues.

Now, mission by mission, what could be improved:
Mission 1: The Inventory blinky would work better chained off the empty crate, I think. Also, to make the mission more interesting, you could throw in a few patrols with dialogue, some captive workers, or some artifacts that were left unstolen, to further emphasize the Tsoo's interest in this particular artifact.

Mission 2: I walk in and get "investigate Circle presence" in my nav bar...one guy doesn't make for much of a Circle presence. Perhaps throw in a few CoT/Tsoo battles and have the contact mention that the CoT have been seen in the area, so your character knows to look for them. Appolonix could stand to be more arrogant. Xob Laim *says something that sounds like a chant* doesn't ring right. Some actual arcane-sounding fake words would work better.

Mission 3: "If you can get that artifact, even a piece away from either side...." sounds awkward and should be reworded. Again, the nav bar says "4 bodies" but how is the character to know they're looking for bodies? Also, when you have multiples of a blinky, the clue drops from the first one. The way the bodies clue is worded would work if it dropped from the last one, but not the first. I think you need to tweak the collections....perhaps make only one required body, put it in the back, and put a bunch of optional bodies up front, leaving them off the nav bar? The Artifact spawned up front for me, although with the clue suggesting I've already found the bodies it should be in the back, so I will find the bodies first. There's also a mention that the final piece was found before Xob Laim disappeared...huh? That needs to be cleared up a bit.

Mission 4: The first jarring jump in the story. Out of nowhere my contact gets a phone call from Tou Vue who is suddenly willing to work with outsiders to take care of an internal Tsoo problem. Maybe you could add Tou Vue as a captive in mission 3. That way the player is directly involved in brokering a truce instead of having it happen off-screen, and it would be a nice excuse to add some Tsoo patrols set to Rogue as well, to directly show a Tsoo vs Tsoo conflict. Xob is all sneaky sneak now...nice touch. Very Banished Pantheonesque. And....OMFG WE'RE ALL DOOOOOMED! The whole thing kinda goes from "Tsoo artifact-stealing plot" to 11 in about five seconds. If waking up the Sleeper was that easy, why haven't they done it yet? I think the immediate consequences if Xob succeeds might need to be dialed back a little bit, with waking up the sleeper as more of a long-term goal.

Mission 5: I'm told that Tou Vue was snatched, but he was right behind me a minute ago....It's jarring because the intent seems to be to go straight from mission 4 to mission 5. To that end, I'd suggest switching to one of the newer Banished Pantheon mausoleum maps. The Artifact still has its default description. I'd also suggest adding a few more objectives, maybe some ritual-conducting guys I need to defeat or something, just to make the mission a little more interesting and climactic.

Looking back over this post, it's very critical....on the plus side though, I do think you should revise your arc. I didn't actually rate it in game, since you seem to be planning to improve it.
  18. I really wish they'd just tell us what level range the new zone covers already. I've had months to save up snarky responses for when they say it's going to be level 20-30, and I'd like to either get them out of the way, or be pleasantly surprised.
  19. In the first Signature arc you will be helping the Vanguard in their ongoing mission to keep our dimension safe.

The hero arc will involve Fusionette, chloroform, duct tape and a bunker. Vanguard will do much better job of saving the world without that dead weight dragging them down, and it's the only way you can really save her and keep her safe.

The villain arc will involve Fusionette, chloroform, duct tape and a bunker full of Rikti Restructurists. Vanguard will do a much better job of saving the world for you without that dead weight dragging them down, and with Fus'net infecting the Rikti psychic network....they're done.
  20. This is what I hope they do:

Stop adding badges past 84 months. Let those of us who haven't been playing since release start catching up.

Separate the Vet Badges from the Vet Rewards. That is, keep awarding the badges automatically for time subscribed, and make the rewards that go with them purchasable with Paragon Points or Paragon Tokens or Paragon Radial Freem-and-Bacon Pie or whatever new currency they come up with. The Vet badges, in my mind, are badges you earn for being a loyal and subscribed customer for X months, let's keep it that way. I want the /auctionhouse vet reward, but I don't want a badge that says I've been playing for 84 months when I haven't been. I don't agree with buying badges unless they are and always have been badges specifically granted for buying something. Sell VIP? Heck yeah. Sell the 84-month vet badge to 60-month vets? No.

You heard it here first, folks. Positron is an elitist snob, cause he said farms aren't valid missions. That elitist snob Positron specifically gave us the ability to rate missions we haven't completed so we can 1-star something that is so bad we can't finish it. Most farms are so bad I can't finish them; the sloppiness of these things hurts my elitist snob brain.

See? I'm using the system as intended. As for you and all your other ratings-bombing and farm-creating cronies, you're just the guys who get away with speeding because there aren't any cops around. Honestly, the real reason I want a farm crackdown these days is because the crying will be EPIC. Cleaning up the search interface is just a fringe benefit at this point, since the thing is completely useless anyway.

I'm completely serious. Certain people have been asking for more arc slots for two years. The two most vocal (Wrong Number and Twoflower) have multiple 4- and 5-star arcs with hundreds of plays. I fail to see the logic behind preventing people from giving you money so they can make more stuff that makes other players happy.
