There is the Dance Rave map under Unique > Warehouse. Might be an unlockable, I'm not sure.
-
I have one catgirl. Claws/Invul scrapper. She belongs to my solo SG called the Ancient and Mystic Order of No Catgirls (like the Ancient and Mystic Order of No Homers, they're allowed to have one.) And she's on Virtue too.
-
There are plenty of non-farm custom AE missions on Freedom. The Architect is cross-server.
-
Has anyone managed to get the "Defeat all enemies in final room" option to work? I tried it on maps with a very clear front, middle and back, and the objective refused to complete until I'd pretty much cleared the map.
-
You don't even have to make custom groups. You can use a boss from faction 1, and set his surrounding enemy group to faction 2. You can't have a boss negotiating with a boss, but at least that way you can have a boss negotiating with the other group. You could even set the dialogue to indicate that the boss wants to talk to the other boss, but has to get through lackey red tape first. Then you could add faction 2's negotiator, in another room maybe, either surrounded by his own guys and waiting for faction 1's negotiator, or surrounded by faction 1, and negotiating with their lackeys.

Qr - the problem I have with the 'movie trilogy' concept is that depending on yr viewpoint, 5 missions might be seen as the equivalent of 20mins of screen time. There are loads of great 20-minute short films out there, but nobodies suggesting Star Wars would be as good if it was only 20mins long.
[/ QUOTE ]
Star Wars also wouldn't have been as good if the first movie had ended with "To be continued..." It had a resolution of its own.
And as for being 20 minutes long...bad analogy. A movie can have a lot of extraneous detail, while a story arc has to be efficient in its presentation. Star Wars can essentially be broken down into: Mission 1: Find Obi Wan. Mission 2: Meet Han Solo. Mission 3: Rescue Leia. Mission 4: Blow up the Death Star. The rest is just extras.
[ QUOTE ]
I think it depends on the story. As has been said, few of the canon arcs are 5 or fewer missions long.

Many of the villain-side arcs and the newer zone-specific arcs are around 5 missions long, not counting fed-exes and hunts. Incidentally, those arcs are constantly cited as being "more interesting," and "less repetitive." -

Stripping a character's badges off when switching sides would defeat the purpose of the alternet names some of the badges have.
[/ QUOTE ] This..
For all we know, we might only be able to earn the badges for our own faction, but we'd have the alternate names once we switch sides.
It may be possible some badges will cross, but certainly not all of them. I'm sure many of them, especially accolades will still be restricted to the specific AT classes.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with this is, that if your corruptor sees the error of his ways, decides to repent, apologizes for his evil deeds, and starts the long and rocky road to redemption....(ie switches sides for roleplaying/in-character reasons other than min-max or meta-game reasons) you will never be able to earn some accolades. The requirements for some "corruptor" accolades are simply unavailable hero-side. -
Elite Bosses scale down to bosses on Heroic. Otherwise, they are Elite Bosses.
-
I would think that the most logical solution would be to have heroes only be able to use hero accolades, and villains only be able to use villain accolades (except for costume pieces.) You can keep your old badges, but you don't have access to the powers. Robbing banks doesn't give heroes a boost.
Yes, it would be a pain to re-earn some of them, but switching sides shouldn't be trivial, IMO. Besides, if you can have the badges for both, that's MOAR BADGES! -
Stores in Kings Row and a train in Founders?

Locking higher level characters out of the AE missions in lower level zones so that they can't lure lower level characters into content based on their jaded point-of-view.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I am all in favor of kicking 50s out of Cap and Atlas, all this would do would turn the high-level zones into MA farm central. Lowbies looking for Portal Corp farms made it to PI, they could make it there for MA farms as well. Then high-level characters who wish to play and create legitimate AE content would be stuck sharing the buildings in high-level zones with swarms of farmers, instead of having the option to go to a low-traffic zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
So I guess you understand what a pain all that spam is.
Who could deal with the spam situation better?
A new player?
Or - a player that has a level 50?
Grandville and Peregrine Island were "farm central" before the MA/AE was introduced. I'm just trying to force it back there.
If you want to do something to help the MA/AE then do something about stopping the abuse.
I see you aren't posting an idea to help solve it.
Please. I want to hear what your idea is to keep this behavior out of the lower level zones so that people can play zone appropriate content with out all the higher level team spams.
I'm sure you have a better idea.
I would like to see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't give a rat's hiney about all the spam. I can remove Broadcast from my tab, all my characters on Freedom do so as soon as I hit 40. I care about the lag. I went into the AE building in Cap on Freedom once. Never again.
The truth is, you spend a lot more time at level 40-50 than at 1-5. And even at 1-5, heroes can choose Galaxy. There is absolutely no reason to start your lowbie in Atlas unless you're a Peacebringer, it boggles my mind that everyone does it and then complains. Villains who want to avoid the Cap AE can just stay in Port Oakes.
The only people who really suffer here are villains who want to run regular content through the teens, and heroes running fed-exes back to Atlas. Again, a small fraction of your total 1-50 time, compared to the 40-50 range.
Lower-level players can avoid being "lured" to the insta-50 playstyle. Low-level doesn't equal stupid. -

I decided to go to the AE building in Steel yesterday to see if there were mobs of people there like there are in AP. It was completely empty except for me & the NPCs. It would be like heaven to go there when writing/editing missions. No spam and no lag FTW!
[/ QUOTE ]
St. Martial and Port Oakes are similar. No spam, no lag, and a market and a crafting place in the zone. That's why I don't want to be banished to a high-level spam ghetto. -
What kind of "agreement" does Recluse have with Malta?
Is it just a simple "you don't mess with us and we won't mess with you?" Or are they actively conspiring together? -
If you have a super-powerful ally that's probably more of a turnoff than a "defeat all in last room" objective.
Although the reasoning for defeating all is again, sound.
Anything that essentially boils down to "leave no witnesses" justifies a defeat all in my opinion. It's up to the author to make the defeat all as painless as possible. -

Perhaps when i15 gives you the ability to do so, rename the 5th to "German army" or "SS" or some such? That was my biggest gripe with this arc, the 5th were based out of the US, weren't they?
Besides which, the 5th are still around today. Their original purpose as a military unit is no longer valid, so they're heavily implying that they stay together because of their Nazi ideology. Making them strictly a military unit would further help distance your character from the Nazi party, and all that implies. -
If you're playing a Fire armor Brute, and a Thermal Corruptor casts Fire Shield on you, when the Corruptor buff's duration expires, the visuals for your Fire Shield toggle also vanish. The toggle is still running and appears to be working.
The same thing happens with Thermal Plasma Shield and your Plasma Shield toggle. -

Unfortunately, "defeat all" seems to provoke the same kind of knee-jerk "grr, snarl" reaction from a lot of people as "sapper."
[/ QUOTE ]
Hehe.. I have one defeat all on a casino map, and I use (random) Malta in one spot... I love the way Sappers make people stop and take three deep breaths before rushing in. They make my characters feel alive
[/ QUOTE ]
I eat Sappers for breakfast. They taste like chicken. -
Maybe try removing the level 51-51 Valkyrie? She could be messing things up. There's another version available, I believe she goes up to 54, she will scale down to an EB but if you're on Invincible that doesn't matter.

I'm all in favor of people using them as long as 1) it is justified, and 2) you make it as painless as possible. Your example with the flyer, totally justified IMO. I would not down-rate you for that. However, the simple fact that unique maps are not listed by size in the mission description probably discourages a lot of people from playing your arc. I know I think twice when I see "unique map" and "defeat all," unless the authors puts "defeat all is on a tiny map" in the description.
Simple solution: separate the unique maps by size in the description fields, devs -
You mean you'd only be hurting the poony heroes. If they come to CoV, you can tell them Grandville has the best AE PLing...but you have to find the building first, cause it's a seeecret...then evil-laugh as they get ganked by hordes of Bane Spiders.
Or, you can convince them to be your dumb minions. Every supervillain needs dumb minions, so they can go steal Manticore's stuff for you.
-
Yep, the Crey Medics and Radiologists would definitely fit, the ice gun....you might have to get creative with their bios.

Malta don't have a problem with supers per se, just uncontrolled supers, such as our characters. The group was formed by intelligence agents in charge of meta-human operations, after the Might for Right act was overturned. So they're used to supers working for them.
Being a member of the Knives might count as "under control." Then again, we are never told why Indigo left, iirc.
Edit: According to ParagonWiki, Indigo is a mutation origin contact. Eeeeenteresting.
[/ QUOTE ]
That actually raises further questions, specifically what qualifies as "Uncontrolledl?" Some heroes are part of government recognized organizations and have some limits or rules about their powers while others (PCs) are likely free agents.
[/ QUOTE ]
The whole reason the Malta group was formed was because they didn't trust their governments to do what was "necessary." So I doubt that government-approved supers count as "controlled."
[ QUOTE ]
Another point to bring up is that Malta constantly stress that all their members are fully human, bots and technology notwithstanding, and Slingers are the pride of everyone because they can take down a super.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, if I was going around telling everybody how dangerous supers are, I'd hide my own supers too. It is mentioned in a few of the missions that they try to get supers to work for them, through various nefarious means, there is one from Indigo where you have to prevent Malta from making a young superhero look bad so they can take advantage of her. And as SMerc pointed out, Moment.
[ QUOTE ]
As for the mutant entry in ParagonWiki, that comes from the fact that she sells Mutant Enhancements (Crimson's in there too).
[/ QUOTE ]
I know, but it is eeenteresting. -
If you were truly villainous you'd take the schoolbooks and edit them to make you look like the good guy...history is written by the winners, after all.
Then you'd sell them for beer money. -

...that the AE building in the RWZ seems really out of place?
[/ QUOTE ]
How about moving it to Cimerora?
That AE building is the only one I know of ingame where you can do cooperative AE. I suppose a AE simulator could be moved to Pocket D instead.
[/ QUOTE ]How about we take the artificial reality entertainment building out of the WAR ZONE, and move it to the INTERDIMENSIONAL NIGHT CLUB
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, we need both. Otherwise Pocket D will become the new Atlas Park.
Well, it probably will anyway, but at least after 35 you have the option to avoid it and still team with the enemy.
