What, nerf Aid Self because it is overpowered when used with Power Boost? Right...

[/ QUOTE ]

Pretty much things can be overpowered when buffed with Powerboost. Defenders can get power build up (which increases the power of the secondary effect too)

And to the OP:
If you think that Aid Self is overpowered, take a look at Statesman in RV... Zeus Strike every 3 seconds. NERF!
2. You being a /Kin, I suggest to not leaning towards GW just because of the PbAoE +dmg, because it won't do a smidge when you already have Fulcrum Shift. (And Soul Drain has a 4 min recharge.)
The only thing I'd choose GW is the sweet Soul Storm, planned on getting it but been retired on my Corruptor. (stuck at 38)

Anyway, the patrons:

Ghost Widow: Pick her if you drool to that Soul Storm, not to mention the powerful pet. Her armor sounds creepy (not in a good way)

Black Scorpion: Amazing pet, especially if you SB him. A has a defense based armor which just rocks the horse in PvE. Web Envelope will stop fliers and alike down so you can use your AoE to great effect (FS, Full Auto and Flamethrower mainly)

Scirocco: The only thing I'd go for him would be Power Sink, but you already got Transference which is just great alone.

Mako: That waterspout will just mess up the AoEs... ugh.

My personal advice would lean onto Black Scorpion, after all, having +def is good when going to melee to cast off Fulcrum, no?

Good luck with your choice, though, if you have enough [censored] you can level off to 50 (or 47) without a patron, then copy them to Test Server and have a good time checking the powers.
3. Plant/ and Earth/ controls are easily negated in PvP by jumping around. You get "Held" each time you hit the ground, but can bounce back up.

So if you're planning on Plant/ PvP, don't forget to take that immob to stop bunnies! (Or webnade from SC merchant)

If an Empath or 2 (2 is the NIGHTMARE combo) in the zone, I leave. I don't offer sweet damage and if controls are negated, it makes you utterly useless. Sad thing is that Emps are one of the most popular Defender primaries. The hardest thing to beat are Scrappers, as to any other AT. They have nice mez protection, and nice health. They will run the second they know they can't beat you. (if you manage to hold them, that is)

Today in Siren's Call I tried to hold many Scrappers with Domination, and there was no success. Me being a Plant/ they were just hopping around, and I tried to immob them. They hopped right away into the base and proceeded to BU + Impale me (of course it critted) and annihilated me.

When PvPing on a Dominator, there are good days and bad days, good days are when there are no controllers or scrappers. I yet have to see a day like that.

Insp/No Insp

Nothing stops anyone from using insps, but however, there was this corruptor in Siren's Call who popped alot of reds, a few purples and yellows. Then he went on rampage killing everyone on his path. He called himself a "good PvPer."(*)

I try to avoid using insps too much, and I expect the same for others. But if everyone else is using BFs while they're held, ok, I'll use some reds to speed up the kill.

Arena fights should always be done with full trays of insps. And then, I'm packed with BFs and lucks and yellows, in that order.

*) I hate people who use excessive amounts of insps in a short amount of time and when you use an occasional insp they start moaning how you used insps.
5. Dominators - and Controllers will be more effective, I think some Dev said that Breakfrees will be reduced to 1/4 of their original effectiveness.

So Dominators will be able to dominate their targets better. Do I smell burning BFs?

@PeeWee:
What kind of a Scrapper was he? I heard that SR can have their mezprotection doubled for a while.
6. Doms were designed to be the Jekyll & Hyde type of things, I'm glad they're improving Mr. Hyde-form, finally can't be stunned by a freaking EB who uses pink pom-poms of death (I seldom have more than 1 breakfree)

Now if they'd give us a Godmode instead of an AoE-blast, a Dominator can be freaky (as it is already, under Domination of course.)
7. [ QUOTE ]

No-one can perma-hold anyone else in PvP, due to mez-suppression.

[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that the suppression was for one type of a mezz, you could be held and smacked right that moment. Then been slept, and nobody would do a thing to you, then, when the suppression has ended, they hold you out again.
8. [ QUOTE ]
Mesmerize: WHY the hell people say its a great power? i've got it at lvl 1, and i still dont understand...

[/ QUOTE ]
Because it can sleep bosses with 1 application, so being a great "Will be back to you later" kind of a power. No, you're not crazy about respecing out of it, it is pretty much worthless on teams (especially PuGs) when that Fire Corruptor hits Rain of Fire, or that Brute finds that sleepyhead on his SMASH!ing path. Great for soloing.

When I'm rolling a /Psi, I skip Stamina because Drain Psyche does the same, and better, but only for 30 seconds. 6-slot it with 3 acc (if you certainly don't want to miss) and 3 rechg. Hasten helps it to be more often too.

Skipping the tree of Fitness will save you 3 power slots to play on.
9. Dominator tactics...

In a team: use an AoE immob and die.

No but seriously, the tactic is to (in a typical 1 Lt 2 minions situation) to hold the Lt and bash off the minions, then go for the Lt.
If you're a Plant/, use Seeds of Confusion and proceed to control the ones it missed. When there's only a few left, hurt each of the mob, cones help a lot on this and they will annihilate eachother pretty soon. (Longbow Flamethrowers ftw)
10. First off, drop Frost Breath, funny to see how Ice Bolt has an endredux and Frost Breath hasn't, and Frost Breath just eats end.

Don't slot Lingering Radiation with slow, the enemy is probably capped to crawl when you have hit your ice attacks and LR. The slows in it only debuff the speed.

Ice Bolt doesn't really need EndReduxes, put another damage in it.

AM looks good

I'd slot fly first with an EndRedux but that's only personal thing

Switch Health to Hurdle, you can easily heal yourself with Radiant Aura and Health doesn't really show up difference then.

As it's a /Rad secondary, I'd swap BIB's recharge for another EndRdx, you'll kill things easy anyway, and with less endurance then. (BIB eats a chunk of End)

Ice Storm, 3 slows, interesting. I'd have at least 1 acc so you can get more out of the 3 Dmg in it.

It'd be nice if you had Freeze Ray aswell, especially if the group has for example, 2 Nullifiers in it. 2 Holds, 2 acc and 2 rechg would be the ideal 6-slotting.

Radiant Aura seems so underslotted, guess you can sacrifice a few slots for it when you progress to 50, can't you?

Fallout isn't that good, it requires your mate to be dead. Having no accuracies, it means that it's more likely that it's going to miss, unless the mobs are under RI.

Slot Rest with a rchg, you'll most likely need it for endurance, not health, and with a Rchg you can cast it more often.

Don't slot Brawl with damage, it only does 1 BI and you're going to miss with it anyway, 1 acc if anything.

Radiant Infection doesn't really need DefDebuffs, the base is high enough, combined with 1 acc you almost never miss anyway, unless you are facing CoT spectral things.

When you get more slots, slot EM Pulse heavily, it's the best hold in the {b]game[/b].

Stamina looks good, so does Hasten.

Ice/Rad was the last month's FoTM (current one is Ice/Cold.)
11. Ethric

Ice/Thorns?

I do not understand why people make such a big fuzz about the redrawing of the thorns. It's not a long time, and I often do not press control - assault - control assault.

Control - Control - assault - assault - assault, that's what I do.

And the difference isn't that big, unless you compare to Psionic Assault, which is just stupidly fast. You'll still get Domination at least once per mission, often twice. And if there's an EB ahead, I'll just smack some minions which were hanging around in the other corridor.

Plus being a cheap on endurance set, you don't have to rest so often, meaning less downtime. (Psi assault doesn't have almost any downtime with combined Drain Psyche and Stamina)

But meh, I really can't argue with someone with a lot of experience with /Thorns. However soon I get my pet (2 bars left) and see how it goes, I might have to change my tactics.
12. Ethric

plant/thorns

Recall Friend power would be really nice for dragging around that Spirit Tree, plus you can TP Foe people onto Thorntrops or on your Carrion Creeper Patch. Yeah, TP is a good choice.
13. Ethric

Ice/Thorns?

Thorny Assault is pretty damn fast at building Domination due to it's cheapness of endurance and fast recharging attacks.
14. Ethric

Slotting Holds?

Just made some calculations, seems that 2 hold, 2 acc and 2 rechg is the zen of stacking. Having 3 hold, 2 acc and 1 rechg is as good in stacking as 3 rechg, 2 acc, 1 hold (the amount of holds in maximum)

Having 2 holds, 2 acc and 2 rechg allows you to do the most stacking, not as fast as 3 rechg, but keeps the mob easier on perma.
15. @Nefarious:
Acrobatics doesn't help against troller/dom holds. They can however, protect against one "lesser" hold, such as corruptors' or blasters' Freeze Ray.

@OP
Bloody Bay is excellent for PvP, no PvP-builded powerhouses running around and telling everyone that they suck, and that PvP-builds don't exist because it's just "skill."

The problem is that NPCs take lots of kills, you can never know when you are running backwards if there's a Tank Swiper or a Shivan Destroyer, heck, a Madness Mage behind your back.

I have done this once on a Tanker (being a Dom):

2. Lure the tank somewhere far away from the hero base, some tend to run back even if the fight had been on Water Street.
3. Do that while being at half health, they love injured squishies.
4. Build Domination and say "I sux " and let the Tanker get overconfident.
5. Hit Domination and proceed to Dominate the Tank by burning his breakfrees and spamming attacks on him (eat blues, he ate purples! Fair enough!)
6. Bing! +1 Rep!

Held Tankers are just like lobsters with no shell, proceed to poke them with a stick until they say "nooo!"
Oh yeah, forgot
1. They use KO blow on you and murder you with their fists. Bing! +1 Rep for them.
16. This is really the best build for corruptors. It has the best burst damage available and the best support. Everyone wants to get you on the team ASAP. Having many melee attacks is really good for a squishy character, because blasters have some too!!

The build is below:

This build has no single flaw and I will be guarantee that you will just own EBs, no doubt.
(Stamina is not needed, you will kill things too fast.)
17. I think someone must've been dinged to 50, two days ago I saw a level 49 Fire/Energy Dom. Can't recall his name though...
He had Scirocco as his patron IIRC.

Slotting Holds?

[ QUOTE ]
I currently have my char slotted, 2 acc, 3 hold and 2 recharge which is enough to stack 4 holds at the same time which breaks a tanks and khelds dwarf inherent mezz protection.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow? How did you get 7 slots on your hold?

I prefer 3 holds, 2 accs and 1 rechg. Freeze ray uses a bit more endurance than Ice Bolt, thus an endredux there isn't that good idea IMO.
19. Except that there is no such thing as ice secondary for controllers.

So, you want to be allmighty powerful Dominator lord of death? Mind/Psi is excellent, but Fire/Fire has a lot of damage (Fire monkeys, FE, etc.) but it has a FPS debuff to your computer.

A powerful Dominator with a pet? Do you mean a powerful pet or powerful you? Gravity Control has the most powerful pet, (IMHO) and Plant Control hasn't got as powerful pet, but good control options. Mind has lots and lots and lots of control options, but no pet at all (with confuse everyone is your pet )

Good luck finding the Dominator that suits your needs.
20. Ethric

Levitate

With 3 recharges and hasten on you'll be able to juggle them up & down, rinse and repeat. It's an awesome power.
21. Ethric

Accuracy

Psionic assault does not suffer from low accuracy. Which assault have you played before? I thought the same thing about /psi mainly because I had played /thorns which have -def, which makes your attacks land more accurately.

Besides, the last power from Psionic assault is as accurate as a sniper attack, plus, it hits alot of targets every 10 seconds. 4 seconds if you have 2 recharges + hasten.
22. An interesting idea. I would still use the usual way, to TP foe into the traps rather than bringing the traps to the enemy.

But certainly is useful if you need to take your traps from 1 spawn to another.
23. Thanks for the advice, it has widened my eyes for new power choices. Yes I'll be dropping Fire Breath, it certainly isn't really useful, took it only because it had somewhat decent damage to be in an attack chain.

Slotting the heals for 3 heals and 3 recharges hasten included sounds like endurance dropping really fast. I'd slot them with 3 Heals, 2 Recharges and 1 EndRedux when I get more slots.

[ QUOTE ]
TP is not the greatest of travel powers for PvP.

[/ QUOTE ]
It's the second greatest IMHO. To add, a Spines Scrapper got angry at me and told me to use leaping like everyone else so I can be impaled with more effect. TP is just something I do not want to not leave with this

Putting range in heals was pretty yawn to me, but on Thaw it's a damn good idea, or at least better than an endredux in a power which has a small cost. I am almost always out of range when someone says "held 3" and I press my bind for Thaw.

/bind numpad3 "team_select 3$$powexec_name Thaw" (that's for the team member nr. 3)

Decided to go on with Black Scorpion patron, as his Defense-based shield stacked with Vengeance would be like a semi-elude or something similar.

I was sure that someone would comment on my Sniper attack's slotting, which has 2 interrupts. Those two enhancements give me the chance to use it even in the heat of a battle

Played around a little in the builder and made a build for 50:

25. Since I7 granted a freespec, and I decided to either use it or save it for later mistakes. This build is level 37 at the moment, removed the numbers and added commas. This build is definately for teaming, both in PvE and PvP. Knockback is my weak spot (ARRR!)

Didn't pick Fire Ball because for me it caused too much aggro, oddly Fire Breath doesn't cause me that.
I picked TP because people like it on PvP-areas such as Siren's Call when I TP them to me and use Cauterize and other buffs.
Picked Swift over Hurdle because many teleporters take that, so it's just jumping into a bandwagon.
Didn't 3-slot Aim with recharge because the third recharger reduces the time for about 6 seconds. Put a tohit instead.
Inferno is never used without Aim so I put only 1 accuracy there, and it seemed really accurate even without.

What do you think? Hope it's not gimp, but even if it is, you guys can fix it!
