  1. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, added a StJ/DA to my collection of lowbies.
  2. Seems fairly solid, but awkward at times... To try to figure it out, I made one as well, almost identical power selections (if you don't have Ninja Run you'll need to tweak it, no travel otherwise). Feel free to compare, crib, or disregard.

Key notes, tried to use Sets for useful bonuses as much as possible, with minimal muling. Also, Tried to ensure that the IO's hit the key wickets for used powers eg 90%+ Damage, 40%+ Accuracy, et alia. Lastly, ignore the slot levels, I tried to fill for Soft-Cap first, then filled in powers after that with needed enhancing.

Oh, also, regarding the soft-cap: In options, under the second tab, there's a host of conditions you can set on your build for being "in-game". Just ensure teh box for "Attacked" is checked, and you'll always see your suppressed Defense numbers.

I mean, what's the point of those two TASTY PBAoE auras if you sit and plink at range...?

Hot feet and Chilling Embrace running: Power Boost>Flash Fire>Firecages>rush into mobs and unleash Ice Sword Circle. Usually, I beat my Imps to the mobs. Only ranged I have is my controls, the Tier 1 Blast with 1 Accuracy, and Bitter Ice Blast... 'cause that works just aws good point blank as it does at 40'.

Specific anecdotes aside... most of my Doms are more Scrappers and melee than anything else. Just instead of armors, my controls keep them alive.
  5. A few points, and bear in mind these are all my own personal opinions:

-Sets, if slotting them, slot to a useful point. stopping at 5 on ToD and Mako's is a rather useless bonus, see if you can't get the slots elsewhere to bring those sets to 6 slots worth for the Defense bonus.

-Underenhancing. Sets are well and good, but you need to ensure the critical aspects of your powers are enhanced enough. AS and MG could both use some more damage, EA and Hoarfrost a little more recharge (swap in the End/Rech from DW's, to up that, especially since most of the extra HP is wasted?), Build Up is criminally unenhanced for recharge, and then Icy Bastion has no Recharge (aside from global) at all. You could drop an enhancement from AS/MG and replace it with an IO from another set to bring the damage up, and not lose much from dropping to Tier 4 bonus. Hibernate would benefit more from a Recharge than a heal, since it's a relatively quick regen.

-Overenhancing. As mentioned, Hide has no Endurance cost, so best, if possible to slot something else in there, not always feasible though if you're going for bonuses. Also, Waterspout is extremely overslotted for Defense DeBuff. you could either move slots around elsewhere, use different IO's to keep those bonuses, or use a lower level within the set, which would porbably be a cheaper investment.

-Rule of 5. You can have no more than 5 bonuses of the same type, regardless of source. You've got 6 LotG:+Recharge's, as well as 6 Tier 2 bonuses from LotG. The 6th one is just taking up space for a different enhancer/set bonus. The "View Active Sets" button can give ya a quick rundown on what sets bonuses you've gotten, where they are, and which ones ain't doing diddly.

-Power order. Don't know if you are 50 already, and/or don't intend on exemplaring, but the delay on taking some of those powers makes me twitch. AT/powerset cornerstones Like BU, AS, defensive shields and Mez protection I try to take as soon as possible... pool powers can wait.

Again, these are all my own thoughts and opinions, and what may be fun for you would be to ignore the living crap outta what I just wrote. But also, for comparison, here's a BS/Ice build I'm looking at. haven't rolled the toon yet, and this build is definitely a respec into at no sooner than 37, but it seems to have potential. (just need a name/concept/willpower not to buy Barbarian Costume pieces) Data Chunk only.

  6. Brilliant, bookmarked, and will be linked to all the newbies in help. Thank you!
  7. And then there was some lame dude named @Eran Rist/@Is Errant who was with PUAD, dUmb, and Darque Mafia.

He seems to still lurk here.
  8. Toss in the data chunk. I know many (myself included) find it harder to read in list form.

Also, I don't know Ice Armor well, so any comments I'd make would be mainly regarding DM.

    Any/Any

Mileage may vary on sets, but none are outright gimped. I favor Defense over Resist sets, since I dislike getting hit while Hidden, but I've a level 50 Claws/Will who is a blast.

So, here's a finalized build for a friend's Nin/EA, interesting changes came down the pipe, and hoping I integrated them well.

As always, feel free to tear it apart. No accolades or incarnates, because unsure if those will happen. Toon is currently level 23, so it has a ways to go afore this set-up.
  11. Ironblade, just look at it as I'm playing a buffer... provided someone has Vengeance... ^_^

Makes me wanna bust out and tweak/respec my DM/SR...

  17. I'm also tentative in. I'm bringing something that'll tread between suicidal and homicidal.

and I wholeheartedly agree with Ironblade's explaination.
On the contrary, that sort of forethought to plan and execute such an action shows intelligence, not a lack thereof.
  19. Errant

    Drama!!!

    You suck.

    Yeah, you.

    Srsly, you suck.

IsErrant on Steam and M:tG-DotP, not on MGO... Tiny might kill me. Also, I play random meets at cons, then give away my winnings.
  21. Amusing over the discrepancies in length tween this and the vent thread. Regardless, I say thumbs up to the Devs. Thanks for supporting this.
  22. The Digital You

Who are you most well known as in-game? I mean character, but maybe you have an inappropriate nickname, and that could be fun too.
@Eran Rist, @Is Errant, far too many alts, none of which I made a name on except for my main - Eran Rist

What have you been doing in-game lately?
Working on alternating burning through patrol exp on my two highbies - No Flo, 49 Fire/Icy Dom and Alakur 39 Shield/Axe Tanker. Need to make room for more alts.

What do you enjoy the most in-game?
    Going into scrapperlock.

Praetoria, Mercy Island, or Atlas: Which is your preferred landing destination?
Not Praetoria, but unsure with the new changes which I'd like. Red-side is more interesting, Blue has population, and I'm working on making most of my toons Grey anyhow.

How long have you been playing City of Heroes?
    July 2005, with a few breaks, including a rage-quit after I13

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?
No Impact, No Idea. Glad I chose it though! (details later)

What are your plans for "Freedom"?
Moar alts. Maybe invading Exalted. But certainly, moar alts.

    The Real You

    What is best in life?
Defilade position, enfilade fires on the target, and a linked belt of 1000 rounds while laying behind an M240B.

    What is your favorite movie?
    Boondock Saints

    What is your favorite book?
    Ender's Game

Outside of CoH, what are your favorite games?
Fallout series, Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon, Etrian Odyssey, Pathfinder, Ascension, Munchkin

Sports: Yes? No? Favorites? Teams? Players? Do you play any yourself?
Eh, I root for New England teams when I remember they exist. I play the **** outta some ultimate frisbee.

Care to share the vision that is you?
Yeah, I'm on the hall of shame that is CoHFaces too...

What keeps you from playing City of Heroes for gross stretches of time?
Uncle Sam is a jealous uncle, he occupies most of my time

And finally, have you blurred the lines between my two neat categories? Do you play in-game with anyone you know "IRL," to use one of those dreaded stereotypical abbreviations that haunt the gamers' reputation?
    Yep!

Oh, you wanted details? I've been to several meet and greets, meeting such august personages from dUmb such as @Slax and @Hedgefund. Also been to Dragon*Con and met those fantastic folks, the Seers.

Not the details wanted? Oh, yeah, there was that other person... ^_^

I managed to meet a pretty cool girl in-game, flirted with her incessantly while in her supergroup. Eventually, she took pity on me and agreed to meet-up (she actually suggested it)... This wonderful woman is now my wife. Provided she doesn't kill me. '^_^'

And yup, most of these are Level 1 Science Arch/Dev Blasters, standing at the bottom of the steps in Atlas with a black unitard on. Some have concepts, but no time; others are waiting on powersets; others are clones; but most are just cool freaking names I thought of and am sitting on. If you "need" one of them, I'm interested to hear your offer (not wealth, in or out of game; gimme your powersets desired, or concept, or story - I won't ninja it, too many alts as is)
