Welcome to the fun, RS!

Below is one (of many by various artists) I had done of my main, in this case done by CelticBolt (his deviantART page can be found here: http://celticbolt.deviantart.com/). When I had this done, his commissions were VERY reasonable, especially considering the consistent high quality. There are lots of other artists on dA who regularly do superhero commission work, too.

Nice run! Congrats to all, especially the new STF badgers!

Quote:How dare you put words in my mouth, BayBlast. What surprising responses. Blame the homosexuals. From the first quote it is just as likely that the friend started the fracas. Since we have no way of knowing for certain what was said by whom, how about trying for a non-biased response such as the one that Doctor_Roswell gave.
I in NO WAY "blamed the homosexuals". I only said that it SOUNDED as if the person described in the OP was hateful because of the attitude and general hatefulness of any kind of talk about someone's sexuality being in any way important.
Did you even READ my post? The point of my post was to show that anyone's sexuality is completely irrelevent and has no bearing on anything. -

There's no such thing.
Sure, some servers (Virtue, for instance) have an overwhelming reputation for something (such as RP in Virtue's case), but by and large, servers are just populations of players.
I play on Victory, and it's no more the "unofficial gay server" than is any other. There are openly gay players on Victory -- just as there are on every other server.
Whoever talked to your friend was just hateful and stupid, as it sounds like they were just trying to provoke some kind of negative reaction. I would hope that you and your friend don't care one bit about something as irrelevant as one's sexual orientation. -
Quote:Only for a few more weeks, then I16 will allow any old lowbie to go into RWZ and participate in a Rikti Mothership Raid -- and won't THAT be an interesting thing to see? Heehee! The Rikti Mothership Raid is 35+ (you can be 'sidekicked' by a higher level hero to survive and be effective).

Per the wiki (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Croatoa):
Regular Contacts
Gordon Bower
Skipper LeGrange
Kelly Nemmers
Buck Salinger
Percy Winkley
Salinger is the final "Regular" contact in Croatoa (I don't consider Percy Winkley to be a "Regular" contact, as he gives out only the "Origin of Power" super-short "arc"). Once you complete Buck Salinger's content, you also unlock access to Katie Hannon and can initiate her TF on that character. :-) -
Quote:Why not try NCSoft's own in-house store: https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/St...pen&category=2You are pulling my leg aren't you?
A look at amazon only revealed the Good vs Evil edition.
If you check, you'll see Willow is right, there are a few other packs you can pick up that add to your time as well as give you neat in-game stuffs. -
Quote:That it's LARGE... (a can of chewing tobacco's diameter is significantly larger than the usual condom's)I still don't get it, Viv. Is it supposed to suggest that it's too old? If so, it's not very funny...
Cowboys are known for carrying their chewing tobacco there in their jeans' hip pocket, by the way. -
I'll direct some of my SG mates over here -- we have an ongoing "ladder" PvP tourney within our SGs, and we have a lot of fun with it. I'm sure at least a few will want to try out a larger base on something like this.

Small addition -- it can be a DEBIT card as well (that's what I use). And yes, pretty sure the PayPal option is there too.

One Sunday, a cowboy went to church. When he entered, he saw that he and the preacher were the only ones present. The preacher asked the cowboy if he wanted him to go ahead and preach.
The cowboy said, "I'm not too smart, but if I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I'd feed him."
So the minister began his sermon.
One hour passed, then two hours, then two-and-a-half hours. The preacher finally finished and came down to ask the cowboy how he had liked the sermon.
The cowboy answered slowly, "Well, I'm not very smart, but if I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I sure wouldn't feed him all the hay."
-----
I think the political correctness is getting ridiculous. Today I overheard a little boy say he was going to go play a game of Cattle Management Specialists and Native Americans.
-----
The cowboy lay sprawled across three entire seats in the posh Amarillo theatre. When the usher came by and noticed this he whispered to the cowboy, "Sorry, sir, but you're only allowed one seat." The cowboy groaned but didn't budge. The usher became more impatient. "Sir, if you don't get up from there, I'm going to have to call the manager. The cowboy just groaned.
The usher marched briskly back up the aisle. In a moment he returned with the manager. Together the two of them tried repeatedly to move the cowboy, but with no success. Finally, they summoned the police. The cop surveyed the situation briefly then asked, "All right buddy, what's you're name?"
"Sam," the cowboy moaned.
"Where ya from, Sam?"
With pain in his voice Sam replied.... "The balcony."

Three cowboys were hanging out in the bunkhouse. "I know that smart aleck Tex," said the first. "He's going to start bragging about that new foreign car he bought as soon as he gets back."
"Not Tex," the second cowboy replied. "He'll always be just a good ol' boy. When he walks in, I'm sure all he'll say is hello."
"I know Tex better than either of you," said the third. "He's so smart, he'll figure out a way to do both. Here he comes now." Tex swung open the bunkhouse door and shouted, "Audi, partners!" -
I'd suggest putting the question out in the "Technical Issues & Bugs" forum -- there are a lot of computer experts over there who can probably give you some great information regarding system specs. Best of luck with the new laptop!

Don't forget chat logs, too (if any) and of course screenshots.

Same here, REALLY slow and laggy.
Maybe today is the forum version of Double XP Weekend. -
If you need any help with anything, M (prizes, etc.), just let me know. And if not, at least I'll talk it up with the Legion and try to get a bunch of peeps out to support the event.

Quote:HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's hilarious, RR -- I may make a toon just to grab TB and play around with doing that! The best use I ever found for it was when I was in Perez park working on the Kil Skulz badge for my blaster. I would just walk into the middle of a large spawn of Skulls (I was too high level to aggro them), drop a time bomb, walk away, and watch the whole group get blown up. I'm ashamed to admit it was stupidly fun and I got the badge long before I got bored of doing it.

Welcome to the game and to Victory server, Daniel! I think you'll like it here.

I'd love to join you guys, DC, and see how you guys shred an STF, but darn it, 5 PM Pacific is just a tad too early for me, unfortunately (still at work at that point). Hopefully I can catch you guys on a TF or SF a bit later sometime. Good luck!

Quote:Yes and no. Transference works to boost your teammates' END (only), and Transfusion works to boost your teammates' HP (only) -- but ONLY to teammates nearby the target enemy. My understanding of transference and transfusion is that it withdraws end and health from the target and redistributes it to your teammates. In addition, those two powers also slows the target's regeneration.
And the only one of the two that has a regen debuff is Transfusion (the "heal" power), not Transference. I find that many Kins don't realize this valuable debuff, which IMHO should always be spammed on tougher AVs/Heroes (especially if there isn't a dedicated debuffer on the team, such as a Rad).
When in doubt, the wiki is your friend: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Transference#Transference. -
Quote:I agree with Ironblade's time estimate (although team dynamic will affect it one way or the other dramatically), but I've been in the exact situation of the OP (a level 49 toon on one of the high-level TFs/SFs such as LGTF), and I can tell you that even on Challenge Level 1, there are enough missions with enough combat to get you 8 bars of XP -- or very close to it. As many have mentioned, the more stuff your team clears from the various maps, the more XP you'll get (and I find that people are usually very willing to go out of their way to clear a bit more to help get a 49 those last few XP).Oh, I would say an average time, for a randomly composed team, would be between 90 and 120 minutes for each. And when I say "randomly", I don't mean a pick-up group of total strangers. I mean people who have played together, but bringing whatever character they feel like.
As for getting 8 bars of XP at level 49, I would say probably not, assuming the task force is set to heroic and you're not clearing every map. -
It's right there in the thread title, Scooter.
Strykr, my SG is large and has a presence almost any time of day. There are a pretty consistent core of us online during the Pacific evening hours (usually including myself), so feel free to look me up if you are wanting a team and I will do my best to hook you up with something (my global is @EricNelson). Also, check out the Victory Badges/Victory Badges 2009 global channels -- lots of activity in there most all hours, and TF/team announcements, GM hunts, etc.
Welcome to the game and to Victory server (inarguably the bestest server out there!).
