Quote:This.Confirming again that Maria's Story Arc can be started at level 45 (did it on my controller), and confirmed again that even at level 45, Tyrant is still level 50 regardless (though he will become an Elite Boss if the difficulty isn't on the hardest and you're solo), and Statesman is a level 54 Archvillain instead of a Hero (and lacking Zeus' Lightning. I routinely am able to be offered her arc at level 45 or 46 on my heroes. -

You may also want to pay close attention to the "Unlockable Contacts" page on the wiki -- unlike CoH, there are a plethora of contacts, ranging in levels, that have to be unlocked before you can experience their content. Some of the better red-side story arcs can be accessed from these contacts, in my opinion.
Wish I'd known about this list before outleveling the earliest one (although thankfully I discovered it before going any farther!). -
Quote:You have it right -- the same mission that awards the "Shrouded" badge ("Disrupt Nightstar's Ritual") also contains Nightstar. She can be found on a rooftop with some minions. That leaves me with Nightstar.
I've done the *Shrouded* mission 2 times now (Rescue 9 "Terrified Citizens") but that's not the mission with Nighstar or is it?
Pretty sure I checked every spot and the rooftops as well.
So where is Nightstar? Not on a story arc/flashback?
You can also find her paired with Siege in the "Bring back the missing scanners" mission later in Maria Jenkins' arc. All of this information IS updated and contained on the appropriate page of the wiki (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Maria_Jenkins). -
Quote:It's not a spoiler at all -- it's a helpful tip for people who try to complete that mission, many of whom run into the same issue. Not a bad idea, and I'll do it if ppl agree it should be done, but I'd be hesitant to put what some people might regard as a spoiler in an otherwise mostly informational wiki.
There are many precedents for giving 'tips' in mission listings in the wiki -- I love the ones that will tip you that a mission is a 'defeat all' even though the details in-game may not be clear about that fact. -
Keep in mind that it's a recipe, so you have to craft it first, and then it's a temp power, so you only have 30 uses before it disappears.
Here's the full information from the wiki (you can find the other temp powers detailed on the wiki as well).
Enjoy smashing! -
I'm frankly astonished that there's no helpful hint note present in this arc's writeup in the wiki entry here. It might be nice if an editor added a little something in the way of help, because this IS a nasty hard mission in that regard.
For the most part, I really like using the wiki for mission and TF arcs for that very reason (the common presence of helpful hints). -
Yeah, Fleeting Whisper fell victim to what I did for a few seconds, too, when first I read the "level 47" lament -- at first I thought it was referring to the stealth benefit, but then I realized that, yeah, it would help if your toon was at least 47 to be able to SLOT the thing...needless to say, I deleted my post in mid-sentence.

Check this article at paragonwiki for a lot of useful stealth information.
You can see from the chart near the bottom of the page that a Stealth IO gives out 30' of PvE stealth, and Super Speed gives 35' -- combined, 65'. You can also see from the chart that the powers Invisibility and Combat Invisibility give out 55' of PvE steath; so the combination of a Stealth IO and Super Speed gives more stealth than either power.
In practice, this is exactly how I outfit nearly all of my toons (placing either the Running or Leaping Stealth IO on Sprint). It's very handy to be able to turn on Sprint and Super Speed for effectively full invisibility, or selectively use one or the other (or neither) as the situation demands.
One further note on Stealth IOs: while you have to obviously be of the minimum level to slot one (-3 to the level of the enhancement), no matter what effective level you are exemped to, the stealth benefit of the IO is still available (depending on the power you choose for it, of course; partly the reason I use Sprint, which is always available). -

Also, let me suggest hunting in Founders' Falls for any of these. There are many areas (and missions) that can offer Devouring Earth, but I've always found it quite easy to run up and down the strip of land that exists on the west side of the FF map in between the road and the foothills (it starts out to the north being populated exclusively by Circle of Thorns, but as you go south down that strip of land, eventually the DE take over). Since they spawn in around the 30s (IIRC), they're relatively easy hunting for a decently-leveled character.

Quote:It's not I16 as far as I'm aware, Nericus, it's an ongoing and intermittent bug. I had a related (and bizarre) issue some months ago, so all I can advise you is to be patient with Support. "Almost a week now" isn't actually that long (although I know it seems like an eternity to you while you wait to hear back...), so I'd suggest giving them a few more days or even another week, and then if you haven't heard anything, first check your PlayNC account page and your toons for the badge, and if nothing's changed, I'd say at that point you might want to follow up with Support.Oh trust me, its been filed for almost a week now. Just looking to see if maybe ish 16 and all the badge changes may have messed up the Vet badges.
In any event, good luck with your situation! -
It was only live for about 2 days, IIRC. Our SG was able to muster one run, but before we could organize more (none of us had any idea that the exploit existed), the exploit was discovered and the Trial was yanked down, never again to see the light of day (at least not yet)...

Quote:The main thing I think you're missing is that, in the examples you give above, Spider-Man's name isn't "Peter" -- it's "Spider-Man". His real name is Peter, sure, but that's not the copyrighted (high-profile public, on-the-comic-cover) name. Same with Superman.Spideys name is Peter Supes real name is Clark are those names banned? A name as common as Arthur cannot possibly have a copyright, besides show me how to make a character look like the Arthur in your pic? The only copyright they can possibly have is the story behind the Arthur in your pic and his likeness so to avoid these issues is the real legal area to avoid. but I'm not surprised to hear this is the possible sticking point as COX is probably weary of any possible litigation in the future.
In the case of the Tick's Arthur, that IS the character's name (both hero and secret identity). I don't think any of us know exactly which Arthur is the reason for the blocked name choice (or if it's multiple Arthurs), but I think it's likely that the Tick's Arthur character was at least a consideration.
In the end, I'm with NCSoft. Better safe than sorry. I'd rather them spend their money on developing more content rather than throw it at lawyers all because of a stupid, baseless lawsuit. No thanks. -
Quote:Actually, it appears that the "leftover" Banner defenders head toward it when it spawns, so players should be able to follow their trail relatively quickly to the Aspect spawn point...As others have said, it would be nice to have the Aspect marked on the map when spawned, or at least show an indicator when you get close to it. A few more HP on it would be a bit of a help as well, especially for times it spawns in large zones such as IP. People were complaining that it was dead before they got to it, which made sense in IP. I was just a bit surprised we found it as quickly as we did with that large of a zone to hunt through.

I can confirm that it happened in the last two events blue-side just now (Croatoa and Skyway). I like that, it makes it not such a pain for people to find, or to home in on the eventual finder (especially if they're not teamed with you).

Very nice event, a definite upgrade from the past years' Halloween events.
The only thing I have to add here is to echo what some others have said -- have NPCs somewhere around that explain the background and give a bit of direction/advice on the event. It's fine that it'll be available outside the game, and of course players will help other players as always, but it would really be great to have the flavor within the game, and to help out newer players. -
Quote:I'm with you, War, but where I work (financial institution) it's a common practice to have a policy forcing all staff at all levels to take a minimum of one "block" of 5 vacation days, in a row, per calendar year. I've avoided it, though, by the company not enforcing it -- until this year. Now our auditor is tracking it (with HR and Payroll's help), so I have to baby-sit my staff, make sure they all take their 5-day blocks, and then do it myself as well.Lets talk about vacation days. I don't get how people take whole weeks off at a time. I can only remember taking a whole week off since I started working once. I like taking an extra day for a 3 day weekend or slipping out a few hours here and there.
I know why it's done (because during a block of time like a week, generally there's a good chance to catch staff who are embezzling or stealing over time), but it still doesn't suit my personal preferences. -
For this reason, I support the idea of bringing the EU servers into the current mix, so that ALL players could play with all other CoX players.

Aw, sorry to hear that, Viv, best of luck with everything. (I feel your pain, my wife sounds like a carbon copy of your hubby in that regard.)
