The ITF is, of course, co-op, and can be run in any combination of heroes/villains that can access Cimerora.
Why would someone limit their TF members to only villains or heroes? Beats me -- maybe an SG/VG event, or an RP thing? Also, it occurs to me that the people asking to join may have been inexperienced or new, and not understood the nature of a co-op TF/SF.
I think the reasons would only be known to the organizers, but the bottom line is that the ITF is co-op and no in-game restriction I'm aware of would ever force it to be run in single-faction form. -

Pretty neat stuff, Viv. I know your laptop throws out some bizarre images when it gets overheated, but that's really some gold there.

Nice build, Cat! I see someone really likes their procs...
(I say that only because I have a fetish for procs myself, especially my absolute favorite, the Devastation: Chance for Hold.)
-
That is correct, that's currently the practice (I haven't been genericed either, but I had a close friend it happened to just the other day, and this was exactly his experience).

Quote:Well, since the OP is living in the here and now, I thought my answer was more than complete enough.Addendum: "Cannot be ...gotten around anymore." There was a circumstance for a long time where Hero/Villain bases that had coalitioned in the very early days of COV could "drop" inspirations, enhancements and salvage items on the corresponding bins for the opposing side. This permitted item migration across factions. That particular loophole was closed a while ago, however.

Quote:Thanks for pointing that out, ZM. This was the first I'd heard of these "Game Cards" (vs. Time Cards, which of course have been around a long time). Here's what a GAME card looks like: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Game_Card

Quote:That's what I said!I really doubt that anyone thinks trading/gifting inspirations between factions is exploitable.
Quote:If I had to guess though, I'd say that the whole trading/gifting code is of one piece and can't distinguish between any tradable object (enhancements, receipes, salvage, influence, inspirations, etc) which is why we can't trade just inspirations [yet, hopefully].
If it was turned on for one object, it would have to be turned on for all of them type thing...
Either way, it would be nice to be able to exchange inspirations during co-op events. -
Quote:I think you're confused -- to me, it sounds like what you bought IS a time card. A card that you purchase that unlocks a set amount of play-time.I thought there was a difference in the time card and the game card...but unless they dont make time cards anymore, Im sure I got the regular game card...
The game is like buying a boxed software package (although it can be purchased online/virtually and downloaded).
I've been told you can buy the Architect version on Steam currently for $9.99 (and as mentioned it comes with a free month of playtime), so you might want to check that out.
Welcome to the game, Donovan7139! -
So...you care a lot?
Quote:The very tone of your post is confrontational and that's your right. I just don't see the point. Your 'feedback' basically says: I don't like it and that's my right. Brilliant. Way to contribute. Ah well.
Okay, then, in the spirit of generating the discussion you say you want -- can you give some solid examples of new content that was delivered "not the way we have been getting it"? -
Welcome to the game, Drew Devastation! Glad to see you're jumping right in and having a great time!

Quote:My understanding is that they take it to mean the former rather than the latter. When the Devs refer to revamping a zone being as much work as creating a new one, do they mean more the sort of revamp Faultline received, which changed a lot of the zone geometry, added a contact/story arc chain and expanded its size, or do they also mean the Hollows revamp, which mostly altered mob spawning behaviors and added some additional NPC resources/contacts?
The word "revamp", after all, really suggests a MAJOR overhaul -- peterpeter even used the term "mini-vamp" in referring to the Hollows changes.
If the discussion if really about just adding some content and not really CHANGING a zone materially, I'm sure the devs would be willing to do that at some point as warranted. -
Quote:Located here, by the way.Any other problems should probably go into the Tech Issues and Bugs forum out-of-game, anyways, would be my guess.
Seeing as how a good percentage of the help requests involve being unable to log in, update, patch, etc., many needed help might not even get that far. I think the Technical Issues & Bugs forum serves the purpose admirably as currently established. -

This.
For me (unlike many others), my journey BEGINS at 50. I enjoy all the high-level content available in this game, so I rush my toons up to 50 and THEN begin playing them in earnest, doing all the high-level TFs/SFs, working on getting all the useful accolades, tinkering with builds, helping out others on their TF/SF runs, etc.
I just really like to have a "stable" of toons where I can log onto whatever is needed for a particular run. Need a Tank, shielder/bubbler, damage dealer, etc.? No problem! I got that somewhere in here! -
Quote:Not so, GG -- check Cat's post above yours. That's EXACTLY what was mentioned multiple times at Hero Con, that the devs think it's a much better time investment to produce ALL NEW content rather than sinking the same amount of effort into already-existing content....but I'm totally sure that revamping some of the less used zones are part of their future plans in some way.
Agree or disagree, that seems to be their philosophy at the present time (although I'm sure anything is subject to change if they perceive enough support in the community). -
Cat has it right, as always.
I recommend just play, play, play your toon. Anything you can get in on -- TFs/SFs, RWZ teams, whatever. The bigger the team the better!
Remember to change your setting in Options so that you earn double inf when exemped (not sure if it really matters on 50s, but I always change it just in case). Then do some Flashbacks via Ouroboros, which can be very lucrative in being able to earn inf.
Best of luck in your earning! -
As far as I'm concerned the red-side Patron pools already provide essentially this mechanic.
-
Yup, done this before -- it's especially easy to do with liberal use of inspirations.

Quote:Can't you just send the /tell to their Global ID and bypass that, as you can with players? Or is there something different with the GM accounts? (I've never had an issue communicating with a GM, so if there is a difference in this way I've never run into it.)A funny/frustrating thing about GMs taking on a hero or villain PC is that if the GM is not that familiar with CoH (NCSoft has a GM 'pool' that provides GM services for all their games such as Guild Wars and Aion), they may not realize that you have to enable cross-alignment chat for a hero to speak to a villain (as what needs to be done in Co-Op zones or PvP zones). So, it's been known for a GM to show up in a villain's mission after being summoned by /petition, and not 'hear' what you're saying since they don't have villain chat enabled. And they think they're being ignored and leave. If that ever happens to you, get on your global or help channel and ask someone playing a hero to send that GM a /tell to enable their villain chat.
