I'm not goin' anywhere -- I've played on Victory since March of 2005 and I love it. Yes, I'm sure it'd be an experience to be on a server like Freedom or Virtue, but I have friends who play on Victory, a large SG/VG there, and it just "feels like home" to me within CoX.
(Oh, I am probably going to transfer a mid-level toon over to Freedom simply to participate in Fulmens' "Midlevel Crisis" SG efforts there, but only as a casual thing.) -

I think you may be pulling your information from a dated source. If I'm not mistaken, since the advent of Reward Merits, they are the sole reward (other than the "Transcendent" badge and the other usual mission-related goodies) for completing this Trial (currently 8 Merits).

Quote:Not THAT hard to find -- NCSoft has sold the various "goodies" associated with the edition at Hero Con the past two years (and I know more than a few people have asked that they resume selling it online at some point).Of course, the DVD edition of CoH is a hard to find item and not (currently, probably never again) orderable online item, least from NCSoft.
I believe some people had friends pick one up for them if they couldn't attend HC. -

Making a macro automatically creates a button and places it in your tray.

Quote:Excellent corollary, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out.Similarly, just because you got generic'd doesn't mean someone filed a petition (though it is fairly likely). Please don't blame the people in your immediate vicinity when generic'ing happens without warning.

It doesn't make them any less true, though. And for anyone who didn't realize, it could be a very helpful hint.

Quote:You can do the same thing with the smaller crystals, but it takes an additional click to TP to the contact (which is why I use the single-click larger crystal, but wanted to mention it in the interest of completeness).Another thing about Ourobouros that I didn't know until comparitively recently. If you touch the ring (ooooer) around the big crystal in the main ourobouros building, whilst on a flashback you'll get tp'd to your contact. Saves a lot of running around in the early stages of a flashback when you are unable to call your contact.

Keep in mind, though, that filing a petition is NOT the same thing as someone being generic'd. One can, of course, follow the other, but just because someone spitefully files a petition on another player doesn't mean that the GM who picks up that petition is in any way obligated to take action if she/he doesn't find merit in the petition.

Are you waiting the required time in between switching between builds (15 minutes minimum)? That's the only thing I can think of, that maybe you didn't notice the "You can't yet change your build" message when trying before the 15-minute time limit has elapsed.
Otherwise, respecs work identically on each build (but only on one, of course). If it's not what I suggested above, perhaps you should send a /petition on it. -

Quote:Brilliant! /e,applauseI went down to the track to watch the alphabet race once. I wanted to bet 2p on U, but they said the D twins (DDs) were a safer bet. So I went long on DDs.
My letter came in first place, but the cashier (the letter B) never paid out. So I told the manager "Tell that B I want my money!" Eventually, B came back with her friend S and double-teamed me. "What is this BS?" I asked as they threw me out.
The preceeding story was brought to you by the letters W, T, and F. -
Quote:Note that the buff from the Mystic Fortune power doesn't expire upon defeat, but is persistent for the entire 20-minute in-game (won't expire during logged-out time either) duration. The one time I've seen where we did think to re-use it was because we'd wiped and wanted every extra bit of help we could find.

Quote:I don't know what your experience Supergroup-wise has been yet, but if you haven't yet researched and found a good one (there are threads within each server's sub-forum with some listings and posts regarding SGs/VGs, or you can ask one of the helpful people you've teamed with if they know of or belong to any), I urge you to take the time to do so. I think many of the team-related issues you're having can be virtually wiped out by finding a good, friendly and helpful SG that will take you in, help you get your arms around how the game works, and "mentor" you (and probably be happy to let you lead a team and play your style with you). And yes, most of my experiences have been on Virture. Please don't take this as saying that everyone on Virtue is rude. I have met some very good and helpful people there as well. It just seems that I run into more rudeness than niceness and that I've had bad luck. I'm not going to condemn the entire server simply because of the bad apples I've seem to run into.
And I'll state again. I do not presume that any style of play is wrong, I simply like some styles more than others. Yes, there is organization, even in the chaos. I can see this when I look at the HP and End. lines that are not falling and the buff symbols below it. I've also found that I like smaller sized teams when these are feasible, 2, 3, 4 of us.
To be completely honest, the reason that I have not tried starting teams much (I have tried and I've had both good and bad tries) is my lack of experience in the game. It's the fear of being told I'm doing things all wrong in a non-constructive manner. I wouldn't mind pointers and help but when you're main experience has been getting flamed it does tend to make one a little leery.
In fact, if you ever find yourself on Victory, please feel free to look me or my SG up (see my sig) -- I know for a fact we'd be more than happy to "get all tactical and stuffs" with you!
Best of luck with your search, Hube02! -
