As always, the wiki is your friend. I believe this will be fairly close to what the OP is inquiring about.

Quote:I received a Shard while at the beginning of a Lambda run fighting the initial mobs surrounding the facility; nobody had died at that point, so in my case the hospital wasn't a factor. The bug seems to be more far-reaching than just the hospital map (at least in my experience). Its happening when you hosp. For some reason this hospital in the trials are on a different map or flagged differently, so that you don't get iXP or threads while in the hospital from kills (that your team did) but you do get a chance to get shards. Once you leave the hospital, you start earning iXP and threads again..
Not sure why its working that way, and it is probably a bug, but thats what is causing it. -

Yay! With two new badges for unlocking a couple of Incarnate slots, I'm up to 1,201 now. W00t!
-
Quote:M-B beat me to it -- this exactly. I realize why Ms. Mesmer might count only 18 "new" badges in the total achievable, because they might already have been counted in the total achievable previously. Sorry for my unclear post.Right, but I was just saying that's why some people count 18 instead of 21.
I agree they should be included on the i20 list like they are. -
Quote:Weren't there 21 new badges introduced with I20?For a Primal, the grand total possible now would be 1226, I believe. It was 1208 prior to Issue 20, and it looks like only 18 were added with this issue.

This was sorta my point -- I don't buy the "few people consider it useful" statement. "Few people consider it useful vs. its price"? Sure, I'll buy that -- but not a blanket statement that the item is considered useless by a majority of people. That's not been my experience.
-
Quote:Certainly -- but if the IO wasn't considered useful by a majority of people, would it be regularly trading for over a billion inf?Useful or not depends on the build and what else you could get from a single slot. I had it on two characters for a while, then dropped it on one when the alpha slot fixed my endurance problems. The heal alone wasn't tempting enough as a use for a slot when I had other things I wanted to do with the build.

Quote:When I said "I saw him spawn" that was a literal statement -- I SAW him spawn in my toon's view by pure coincidence. I was flying around, not defeating daemons at the time. It's also possible that he was there the whole time. You just didn't happen to notice him until after you defeated a bunch of the objectives.
You can't really say for certain that the display message doesn't always work unless you killed him more than once within a single timeframe where your uninterrupted chat shows no alert for Caleb.
And I never claimed it "doesn't always work" (if I made that claim, please show me where I did so) -- I said that he CAN be. My post was in no way an attempt to claim that, and I don't think it reads that way.
Edit to add: I agree with the position that just looking around is the best way to find Caleb, I'm just saying that you can't necessarily rely on the appearance of the zone event message for a number of reasons. -
-
Quote:I can confirm from personal observation that Caleb can be spawned without generating the event alert. I saw him spawn on two separate occasions, but no event message (which I've observed at other times) was displayed. Of course these two instances could be bugs, but even if so it still seems that it can happen. That's what I've found out as well. It seems that many times he ends up spawning naturally from people doing hunt missions or because of people killing the objectives for other reasons and the alert goes unnoticed. Once spawned, Caleb is just out there doing his thing until somebody finds him, or the server/zone resets. In the meantime, people purposely trying to spawn him and watching for an alert will think it's broken.
(And yes, I have the proper message mapped to my chat on all my characters.)

Quote:Ah, you're not into teaming and TFs for the most part, got it. Well, best of luck with getting your rare completed!Aside from the fact a rare alpha conversion can't be done until I20, I'm a hardcore soloist. I can see myself doing Mortimer Kal on a regular basis on my Villains, though. I'll at least try the Incarnate trials when I20 launches*, but I want to go the conversion route instead on at least one of my characters because of the challenge, the feeling of doing it "on my own" and it'd just be a great achievement, too.
(And I'm glad I play on Victory, where the attitude you're referring to virtually doesn't exist -- people help others complete stuff all the time on non-optimized teams.) -

Quote:If you need some operating capital to keep going, Berzerker, please feel free to hit me up (send me a tell in-game at @EricNelson, or a PM here, whatever works for you) and I'll be happy to ship you whatever funds you would like so you can keep at it. Science is a harsh mistress, after all, and she needs her shiny baubles!Update: Friday evening I decided to take the plunge and spent 4 million inf to clear out all the Temporal sands that had been listed for less than 10,000 inf. That still leaves 300 offers from other sellers. I relisted 210 of them of my own for 10,000 each, and ... to my amazement... I sold 6 of them!!!!!!
So, then I took them back down and relisted them for 12,500. Haven't sold any at that price.
Basically I've spent a total of about 5 million inf so far, and made 54,000 inf back. So the experiment is not going well.If something changes, I am taking screenshots now and I'll start posting them, but right now it just doesn't seem to be worth the effort. Why do all that just to document a failure?

Yeah, I think Rabbit may be thinking about how Brainstorms used to work for a very brief time as crafting credit before they changed it. Empowerment buff crafting DOES definitely count for credit toward the crafting badges.

Quote:Yeah, the ton of Incarnate stuff I have no (current) use for is staggering. Which I know I'm going to be VERY happy about in just a few short weeks...Gotta say tho... great way to build up shard reservoirs on your badger that way.
(presuming you're doing the lvl 50 TFs)

I've never been so glad I decided to restrict myself to only one badge toon as when the Partner badge was announced...50 "excess" runs x2 (or more) toons? No thank you!

Quote:Completely agree with Fulmens here (which, I've found, is usually a very safe path to take).I think the OP is doing pretty well- maybe not perfectly optimal use of AM's but not, like, off by a factor of 10.
On the list of "potential sale items", most of them have been mentioned. It's worth looking at (I haven't checked lately) minimum level travel stealth IO's. -
