I can't possibly be the 1st or 2nd highest grossing person in the market right now. I KNOW that there are a couple people making more than me because I have been in active niche PvP with them over some very profitable niches and unless said people do nothing else on the market (unlikely given their niche PvP skill) they're making more than me based on their ability to take losses and keep fighting for the niche. The one person must have about 100 Gaussian Rchg/End by now too and thus will be able to make a killing going forward if they spike the recipe prices while limiting their stock.
  2. I used to consistently make .75-1.5B a day almost every day. Recently a lot of niches have seen their margins shrink so I've been getting more in the range of .40-.75B a day. Takes about 15-20 mins a day total across 9 toons of which I log 3 in per day on a 3 day rotation. If you count selling what I generate in amerits too (sped up by dropping my 1st tip each time I log one of these toons) I do even better.

I have lost a little motivation too since there wasn't much to do with inf.

    Base/SG For Sale

Someone is getting a steal on this base all things considered. If I didn't already have a SG base on Freedom I'd buy it for quite a bit more than current bid. 1800 storage spaces for IOs has a lot of value...and not having to do the TP beacons makes it convenient.

Just 6 mos ago I sold a base for someone with 10M prestige and I got 1.5B so I know this is a steal.

I'm a lazy marketeer though. I buy recipes in stacks of 10, buy salvage in stacks of 10, and list all 10 IOs at once. I know a lot of marketeers think you risk flooding the market and driving down prices when you do that, but I've never paid any attention to that. If I have to wait days or even weeks to get the price I want, that's fine. ^_^
I mostly do the same thing unless someone is combatting my niche at that moment. Its not laziness....its economies of scale though.

Buy recipes to craft and sell is far and away the most profitable thing out there.

    Base/SG For Sale

I've found that reasonably nicely named SG/VG sell for about 1/2 the prestige conversion rate and badly named ones (only suitable for a storage base) sell for well less than that.

I'd recommend here and Freedom server forum as best places. All the ones I've sold as a base broker, back when I did that circa i12-i17, were on the server specific forum.
  6. Yeah I'm dating when I actually knew something about computers with my M and k..........thats so 90's right?

My plan is to have the comp be able to be plugged in but you know....when I'm travelling and have left the rest of the family at home I might as well MMO rather than be bored sitting in a hotel room waiting to go back to whatever account or project I'm working on the next day.

Thanks for all the help, I suspect I'll go with 8G and 1G since its not really all that more expensive.
  7. I'm looking to upgrade from my current laptop

How much memory and how much dedicated memory on the graphics card do I need/want?

I'm looking to run on low-end of ultra-mode.

    Does processor speed matter much?

Would 6-8M RAM and 1M dedicated video card be enough? or is that even overkill and 4? RAM and 512k be enough?

Other than CoX I doubt I'll run too many "intensive" programs on the system.....at least not graphical ones.

    Thanks in advance.
  8. I believe that Fulmens is offering to cover the cheated party's transaction while seeking collection on the cheater. If that is the case I will offer for free to advertise the cheater's global on any public forum I have available to me so as to provide a atmosphere of moral suasion to avoid such behavior.

Then again, my marketeering was quite lazy. I did my Get All Inf -> Craft -> Put For Sale -> Bid On Salvage cycle once every day on two characters.

I took a position on level 50 Numina procs prior to x2 exp weekend. They were costing about 50M to craft and selling for 70-75M. I decided that each batch of 10 I made I'd keep 5 in base for about 2 weeks. So I ended up with about 65 of them to drop into the frenzy. I have 1 left and most sold between 90-110M so thats quite a lot of my haul right there.
  10. Purple prices may drop (and I think they will a little) but not back to what they were before. We had a surge like this circa i11 (though to lower numbers) and it never went back to its old prices then either.

Incarnate alpha slot has allowed people to add more recharge to their builds and still get the other performance they want through cardiac, musc, or nerve trees. This has pushed the value of purples up and hence the price as well. Eventually the increased supply from more play at or above 50 will push them down again somewhat.

Between 3 niches where I guessed VERY right and had a good amount of stock on hand in base I made 17B. Admittedly 60% of that came from stock on hand in base so net profit beyond past crafting costs was probably closer to 11-12B.

Now if a couple of the niches keep rising I can say that I was the one keeping prices DOWN next time someone wants to blame me for high prices.....cause in 2 of them I have only 1 IO left to remind me which chest I store them in.

In some niches prices did nothing or went down (level 40 stuff in many cases did this) but many higher-end 50 stuff nearly doubled (or more).
  12. I assume MnV has multiple allies in his quest to get his VG to #1 on Freedom. Other than the fact he's openly insulted the '88's I'm happy he's blowing up so much inf. I am curious how he's done it, but, I doubt he's bought inf from China cause that would actually be a decent amount of RL money and I doubt someone would pay $7-$9 per billion just to blow it up.

I made 17B over x2 exp weekend so I KNOW that inf can flow like water in this game now. I am curious of his inf making methods (PvPIO AFK farming, Purple farming, what kinds of marketeering, charging for PL, etc). Perhaps after his group has passed he will divulge some of the techniques at least if not the specifics. I'd like to see his data honestly as long as he's honest.
  13. I'd love that, but I'm not holding my breath because too many people would end up with oddball stuff like bug hunter and stuff then. Great idea for getting those last couple badges done though.
  14. Any desirable IO can be worked as long as supply of recipes doesn't greatly exceed demand for the finished IO. Just check the margins and see how things work, then risk a couple 100 mil and plunge in. Most likely you'll make a lot of inf.

    ITF question

There are a few other ways to pull Romulus without pulling the nictus as well.

There is the beat him spawning method.....if you activate the cutscene and move quickly enough, you can get to him just as he spawns in and just before the nictus spawn in. Aggro him and pull back. He should follow alone if done correctly. This technique has 90% chance of success with someone who has done it a lot.

A second way to get him is to get a tank/brute to the aggro cap in the field of cimeroans in front of the raised area where he and nictus spawn. Once at the cap his Romulus with a ranged non-aoe attack and he should come down without the nictus since you're at the aggro cap. This technique has a 98% chance of success with someone who understands how to use the aggro cap to their advantage (as opposed to their disadvantage). It does require that the tank/brute be able to live long enough for Romulus to come down with lots of guys beating on them though.

Finally, if you have a grav dom with you (troller might work but never seen it done), you could have the dom get dominate up and use wormhole to suck him through. I don't know if it has enough mag without dominate up cause I've never seen it done without. This way requires an experienced grav dom to do it so not suitable for many teams.

    This was done across 5toons
    Done in stacks of 8

I have 9 toons which are dedicated craft and sell marketeers. I log each one in every 3 days on a schedule. I average about 7 mins per toon unless I am dragging them to/from a day job location while I'm doing it. So 21 mins a day can make you a whole lot of inf in this game without even manipulating the market or anything.

Almost all of my other toons are involved somehow at the very least having low-ball bids out for whatever seems to be underpriced at the moment.

    E.E.
  17. I'm trying to see how much inf a casual and dedicated marketeer can generate each week.

I'll give you guys my data though I don't expect others to provide quite as much detail.

Over the last 5 weeks I have averaged the follow inf/day (by activity) over all my toons:

    Amerit generation -- 195M
    Craft-and-sell mkt -- 761M
    Selling pops -- 94M
    Brainstorm to salv -- 41M

    Total 1092M per day

Amerits generated by a combination of TF merit conversions and doing tips missions. Where converted the 20M cost is deducted from net profit.

Craft-and-sell done in stacks of 8 or 10

Selling pops is just selling what drops that I don't use.

Brainstorm to salv is buying base/comp salvage to turn into brainstorms which are turned into rare salvage random rolls at a cost of 20 per.
  18. I put color there in a spreadsheet of my own and use blue, red, gold as per the load-in screens.

    Market UI Tweaks

My biggest beef is that the new interface is much jumpier. When you have a lot of items stored occasionally it'll grab the wrong thing to sell. I never once had this happen under the old interface but its happened 8-10 times under the new one.

Otherwise I'm with you Peter.......get stuff in a consistent order across categories.
  20. You know......if the '88s were to send some inf my way to catch and pass MnV's group on Freedom I'd appreciate it and put a taunt back his way in my VG description. Either way, I'm going to do my best to run him down....and as Fulmens can attest, I've been doing this for a while.

My Global if anyone is going to send donations is @ferrum-ignis. I'll be burning something like 30B of my own inf over the next couple days.
  21. Anything beyond 2B is hard to prove by screenshots or whatever. I guess I think that 10B now is probably what 2B was 18 mos ago. That doesn't mean that 2B is nothing. Honestly, the 1st billion is far and away the hardest to earn.
  22. I'm working Freedom as well. Of course, my group is just me and spouse so it'll take a bit. But, I'm in the top 35 which isn't so bad for solo work. If someone has more wealth than me in game or more allies they can stay ahead of me......but I'll still pass a few jerky VGs which used to spam recruit every warm body, and being able to tell them that I'm past them is good enough for me.
  23. Its all about the work required to do the move enhancement value from the "retired" toons to the more active ones. If the work of stripping is worth the upgrade of your active toons I'd do it. Though, I might play the toon I was "stripping" before I did it to make sure I wasn't going to like them in the near future.

I stripped my em/ninj stalker in i12 to fund my new brute at the time. I don't have the slightest regret on that move. On the other hand, I stripped a corruptor in i14 and just spent 8.7B rebuilding her cause I was compelled to play her again.

Don't delete the toon unless you're REALLY sick of them though.
  24. Glad my niches have been slightly over-filling recently. I'll have some excess stock for the surge.
  25. I think the lesson learned is that the devs intended to have rare and very rare alpha slots available at the end of the event and extended the winter event to push back their deadline.

I made a decent pile of inf myself off candy cane selling from hoardes.....though I listed them all pre-event and was done by day 2. I averaged 55k acquisition cost and 385k selling price. As the OP said.....I mostly did this on off-servers for me like Guardian and Protector.
