I've been debating whether or not to play this, still on the fence. The price of certain recipes to complete my latest project is quickly turning me off. Is it still in closed beta?

Wish you the best of luck. Also unless regulations have changed there are two reasons for a solider to be listed as "undeployable", one of those is pregnancy. I'm not sure which reg it is in, but I do remember covering it in ANCOC

Sounds good! I hope this will help "fix" the lack of quality merchandise on the markets as well as bring the prices of items such as purples back down to reason.

What's working right now:
A scheduled task that searches for redname posts in a fixed interval - new posts should hopefully show up within 10-20 minutes
All posts that show up on search have been saved - I'm currently only displaying the most recent 20 however.
To do:
RSS/Atom feeds
Community/Dev feeds
Individual feeds
Prioritizing certain rednames when looking for new posts (BaB, I'm looking at you!)
Caching of DB results (I hope it won't go over quota too soon >.>)
Supporting timezones other than UTC

Elec armor getting a heal? Really? Linkage? I wasn't enthused about elec armor (only elec melee) but having a self heal will change my mind for sure!

I have to agree, I love the scrapper forums. They helped bring my scrapper game to the next level!

I for one haven't been to the forums too much as of late, I don't like how things are arranged and the dev's digest is just horrible now. I stick to my two favorite sections, Victory and Scrapper forums now.

One of the few things I have always been displeased about is how the devs treat the defender AT. In many ways it always seemed like the AT was a last second addition. I know the inherent was made up without much thought.
In my best Kanye West impersonation "The devs don't care about defender people" -
The devs hate defenders, that's why they have a nearly useless inherent that was thought up in a couple of days.

That power won't be of much use for me in a mission. I routinely end up lost and use the FoW so I know what area's I've been in already. I hope it only reveals for the caster.
Outside of missions in actual zones I'd use this power just about every chance I get! -
It would be nice if all contacts/Stores purchased recipes and enhancements from players at the same price.

I still want my bulky chemical tank to strap to a couple character's backs, complete with colorable transparent windows and animated bubbles (think warhulk fluid chambers). But the Super Science pack already came and went with nary a chem tank (or bubble helmet). So I'll just have to keep looking dreamily out my bedroom window at the rain, pining.

I thought it may have, however "cyborg" can fit into both tech and science according to the CoX origin definitions:
Science: Exposure to chemicals, radiation, or some other scientific process has left you changed, with new and mysterious abilities far beyond the mass of humanity.
Tech: Unlike science heroes, whose bodies have been permanently changed by exposure to natural forces, as a technology hero you carry unique and advanced devices that allow you to produce superhuman effects.
As far as extra packs... one can always hope for moar... -

Backpack: Increases salvage and recipe slots by 5
