  2. I remember the good old days when all you had to do to get up to date game inforamtion was to log onto the CoX websites.

Now you need, a forum account, twitter, and facebook if you want to keep up.
  3. I'm so sorry to hear that Viv. Stardust probably didn't like the lady anyways.
  4. Personally speaking I included DA on my Kat/SR, but some people have omitted it because DA detracts from their attack chain. I wasn't worried too much about DPS and didn't want to waste slots with the Fighting pool (took Medicine) so for me it made sense.

As far as Kat/EA vs. Kat/SR, even though they are similar in that they have an auto power that grants 20% recharge; EA is a resistance based secondary. IMO resistance based toons are a lot more difficult to play than defense based ones. I'm also not too thrilled with the bonuses from resistance based sets versus defensive based sets.

Maybe try two builds in mids and see how they look?

I too was unimpressed by the damage of Electricity. I had an electricity blaster that I stopped playing because if it.

I also have a Kin/Elec defender. I thought the idea of having an endurance drainer would be awesome; however I didn't realize that no matter how much endurance you drain from bad guys, they still attack you. Go figure...

Its far less fun when you show up to every single ******* ******* stupid-*** banner, help take them down, and get NOTHING for it all 4 times while desperately asking for a team only to realize theyre all full.

I was on my Rad/Sonic teamed with no one and I got the badge and merits

    The road to 50

Personally I used to do the normal way of leveling until about two months ago. Now I prefer PLing my toons to 27. Why 27? Even though I can pick up a travel power at 6; there are usually other powers I'd still like to take early on. I also only choose travel powers whose prerequisites fill a need in my build i.e. hover and super jump or hasten and super speed. Aside from the minor travel power issue, I absolutely HATE playing the game pre Stamina so power picks 16, 18, and 20 are usually reserved for the Fitness pool.

I suppose I could stop there, but I also hate spending currency on enhancements less than level 30. They are a waste of influence for me because I generally have builds planned out using 30 and 35s.

As far as teaming goes I'd rather be on a full team until 47, then the greed in me kicks in again and I'd rather have less teammates for a higher chance of drops.

Not that I don't have fun, Ham, just noting the difference.
lol Hamster timed his knockback powers perfectly, just as I was hitting Soul Drain...

On a side note, I really really hate resistance based scrappers. In hindsight I should have made this guy an Elec/SR instead of Dark/Elec or even a Traps/Sonic defender. This is the most non fun scrapper I have ever played... besides my Dark/Dark (sorry Des)

In the meanwhile people that send tickets are being ignored, being told their ticket will go to higher support and get ignored afterwards,...

Do the devs want to provide us a quickfix for mac or do they hope we just stop crying about it?

I know this comes out like a rant, and it partially is but if a devs would acknowledge this problem and put it up on the mainsite and let us know wether they're working on it or not, I think it'd already satisfy us so we know there is a solution coming.

I'm kinda getting desparate on seeing a fix here - every downtime I hope my issue will be resoled when I log back in, but no success.

the issue wasn't around in i15 and it came to us with i16 - I'd even drop my i16 gains to just get a normal cursor back.
I hope they find a fix for this for you guys soon. I'm purchasing a Mac sometime early next year for the sole purpose of playing CoH on the road. I have to pay more attention to how long mac issues take to get resolved.

On the subject of the post topic name though, I think the devs do care, now the Defender inherent... that's another story...
  11. Sounds very interesting, I wouldn't play it but only because I'd rather play a defense based toon than a resistance based toon. I made the mistake of rolling a dark/elec scrapper for a weekly team night; never again! I should have made him elec/sr.

But back to the subject, I think the tier one power is a bit much for that level considering how often one face plants early on. It may even discourage players from continuing on with the build.

Like, it's already annoying when you're running your 33 around a 30-40 zone ToT'ing, and you run into a 39 boss that someone ran off and left there. Now imagine if you were ToT'ing along and ran afoul of someone's 8x/+4 spawn.

(And *now* think of the jerk griefer - there's got to be a few, even in this game - who deliberately runs around spawning max-zone-level x8/+4 groups in the lowest level areas of the zone. And stealths/teleports/flies away leaving them to slaughter lowbies.)
The same can be said for normal spawns of a higher level in zones. The ToT spawns go after the person that triggered the door. Others should just avoid the mobs like they do normal spawns until they go away.

But it's not a big deal, there are plenty of other things for me to beat up on!

    Nice Job, Devs.

The luster of seasonal events wore off for me some time ago, but I have to give credit to the dev team for coming out with something new for this Halloween. They could have easily just rehashed the same old event but chose to go the extra mile.

The only negative I can think of is the mission settings don't effect the door spawn size. Had the settings done so I would ToT, but fighting such small spawns is no longer any fun after fighting 8 man spawns solo.

The boss rare recipe drop is a joke IMO. The past week I have been dual boxing and running the Council Empire map set for 8 players. I have had more purple drops (4) than I have had rare recipe drops (0) from bosses.

Ever.

They need to take that "spawn bosses like crazy" flag off of Carnies and put it on Council!
I have my setting to 8 players no Bosses no AVs and get two bosses per group when I'm teamed and then some groups have no bosses.

I've never gotten a clear answer on those Achilles heel procs but before you do that it might be worthwhile to know if the -res stack on top of each other.
  17. I would think that the sonic secondary is prime for handling AVs because of the -res. Has anyone tried an AV with the rad secondary using -res procs?
  18. First off welcome.

There is a sticky up top with Victory SGs.

My advice to you is that you shouldn't rush to be in a SG. It isn't required to enjoy the game.

I'd suggest you join the Global Channels, Victory Forum and Victory Badges (There's another popular Victory channel that escapes me atm). Team with some of the players there (You can leach off the team leaders SG base teleporters) and hopefully you will eventually find a group of players that mesh with your personality as well as find a SG that fits your needs.

    Good luck!

  21. Hall of Justice was my first SG. A great group of players like C1rcuit Breaker, Phantom Eyes, Eye Devil, King of Flames, Antilus, Fazer, Honor Girl, Theoden and Nurse Lori. I know I'm missing a lot of names,it's the old age.

Good luck with recruiting. Is the website still up? I know it's been a good 3 or more years since I've been on there.

Now I'm feeling nostalgic, I might have to log in on Dark Fission...
  22. Won't be able to make it tonight. Having some issues on my end. I'll be within level range for next week.
  23. You had me until the soloing AVs part.

I'm currently working on a Rad/Sonic Defender that has 48% ranged defense. On paper it seems nice, but I'm not sure how it will end up actually playing out. He's made mostly for toggle herding.

In all my time here in CoH I've yet to see this done by a defender. Controller; yes. Scrapper; yes. Blaster; maybe. I'd go as far as to say it's impossible, but I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you succeed. And if you do, please brag and post pics for all of us to enjoy!
  24. Oh you're dou'ing with a Storm/Ice?
