Not sure if this was covered or not, I had expereinced it some time ago but haven't been back to MA until last week.
Sometimes, even if the character has no recipes on them, they can not roll random recipes. An error message saying "recipe inventory is full" comes up. As a work around, sometimes you can roll an inspiration then go to roll a recipe. Note that even though you waste 20 tickets on an inspiration, this only sometimes works. -

I'm on the fence about these zones events, they are usually cool the first few days but the luster wears off shortly after.
In the future I'd like to see special holiday TFs along with the zone events. For example for Halloween, you would have your zone activity such as ToTing, but there would be a special TF playable during the events duration. This year the TF would have incorporated the Deadly Apocalypse along with a fleshed out story. At the end of the event, the TF contact would disappear. -
Quote:Hmmm it could be that I read it wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.Is that what they said? I thought it was "Enhancement prices will be standardized across all vendors/contacts" as in contacts won't SELL enhancements for more than the stores do (frequently 200%). I actually wish contacts sold for less than stores. It would certainly encourage people to try for contacts of their origin.

Quote:I said I understood it, I didn't say I agreed with it.I don't. It doesn't make a damn bit of sense.
Increasing the size of the market will make everyone better off. Heroes and villains. It will limit the ability to manipulate the markets. It will allow villain players access to a much larger source of goods and funds for the goods they sell.
Personally, I think creating two separate "worlds" was a mistake to begin with. With all the enemy groups in CoX combined; they are literally sitting on a goldmine of potential stories and TFs. I think they need to start thinking about deploying the co-op code to Paragon City and the Rogue Islands and write in contacts and stories for both factions in both areas.
Like I said in my earlier post, I would have been playing villains if I didn't have to deal with the landscape of the R.I. -
I'm really happy about the stores buying back enhancements at the same rate. It's a change I've been wanting for a LONG time! While it's not terribly time consuming, it is annoying having to travel from store to store trying to maximize your profits.

Quote:The only problem I see is that GR is supposed to be a paid expansion where as Issues are supposed to be free. I suppose they can do the same thing as they did when CoV came out but I would hope that there is at the very least a small Issue before GR. Issue 16 came out in September and with GR slated for 2nd Qtr '10, that would mean close to 7 or more months without an update, but lots of competition. Is there any reason to suspect issue 17 will be before instead of part of GR?
As far as what I hope for I17; I'm hoping Castle will get around to Defenders by then to give them an improvement at or before GR. -
Quote:With my luck D.P. will be of poor design and even casting Fulcrum will cause redraw. Because, of course you can't hold pistols and raise both your arms. All this talk of the blaster primary....no new secondary? I'm at a loss thematically and mechanically of which Blaster secondary would "work well" with a dual weapon set. If every click-type power was putting away the guns, I wouldn't make it out of the tutorial with the character out of sheer annoyance alone. "Not using" a Secondary is assinine IMO. That's kind of why I was hoping it'd be a Scrapper set so the secondary could be more toggle-based than click.
Is it being ported to Defenders and/or Corruptors? Quite a few more primary/secondary sets there that I could make work than I could for Blasters.
Still nothing of a hook for me in regard to GR AFAIK. (< -- can only imagine the giant grins that gave various people )
/rant
It would be really nice if they took the time out to create more synergy between powers. I know they've said redraw doesn't have an effect on powers, but it sure does ruin my immersion... -
Quote:I don't think Samuel needed chain of command info, because that will differ just about anywhere you go. He just needed some of the basics. The whole thing is, while there are lots and lots of gradations and delineations in military groupings and ranks, the reality is, it's seldom this simple.
There are tons of considerations and special cases involved (back in the early 90's, the Physicians Assistants in the Army Medical Corps had a transition from Warrant Officer Status to Commissioned Status. So you had a lot of Warrant Officers becoming Liutenants with LOTS of time-in-grade).
Depending on unit type, size, etc, you can see all sorts of leadership structures.
The medical clinic I worked at while enlisted had a Full Bird in charge of the clinic of about 12 doctors and PAs, plus about a dozen enlisted medics, plus some NCO management. Yet all the enlisted belonged to the medical company on the post, which was initially run by a captain, who was then replaced by a Liutenant. The urgent care center on post was overseen by a captain, with the medical clinic there run by yet another Colonel, with the entirety of the USA MEDDAC run by a General.
And the Detachment I worked at in Korea was run by a captain, had 4 doctors, 3 PAs, and about a dozen US military personnel and half a dozen KATUSA. Run by a captain.
Depending on what the unit was doing it could be lead by just about any NCO rank from Sergeant on up, or could have a commissioned officer directly in charge.
Besides no matter where you are, no matter how many officers... NCO's lead the way! Hoooooooah! -
Quote:I understand Posi's reasoning. Personally I don't play villains because I don't like the zones, a feeling that other players share. The last "official" statement on market mergers was back during the 5th anniversary when Positron was answering questions ingame. He said a merger may happen at some point in the distant future when and if the amount of inf redside is comparable to what blueside has.
In the example he made he said if a villain can't afford something for 50 million he'll never be able to afford it for 200 million.
I really wish they would have added villain contacts in Paragon City and hero contacts in the Rouges to begin with. In fact I really don't know why they didn't revamp P.C. and R.I. using the same code as the co-op zones a long time ago. -
Quote:lol That's a good one! It's not quite rank-based humour...but uniform tags in the Singapore Army typically list the soldier's initials followed by his family name.
Logical, right? Except...Singapore's majority ethnic group is Chinese. Why's that a problem?
Private SA TAN
The real kicker is that this happens frequently. There's been several SA TANs in this army. One was in my company.
My brother just docked in Singapore a couple of days ago. -
Quote:According to the page, you have to
So as long as your account is playable between those dates you should get in.
Hmmm my main account ends Nov 13th, ironically the same date I get my 66th month badge.
I should change my recurring payment but I think the only way to do it is to cancel the subscription first and I'm afraid that may screw up my beta invite... -

I see from the first few posts you should have about all the information you need. Keep in mind that although the names of ranks differ by branch of service; pay grades are generally parallel. Not sure how detailed you wanted to get, but just in case:

All this talk is getting me nostalgic... -
I went to lay down for a bit hoing my headache would subside; next thing I know it's 11:30 PM...

I'll be on tonight but not for long. I feel like crap...

That's a good idea. Personally I've been neg repped and left stupid comments simply because I don't agree with certain popular forum posters.

Quote:Yes Rad defenders would be able to stack it, as would anyone within AM range; but the boost wouldn't be so significant that it would be game breaking. Since defenders don't have as much mitigation as the other ATs I don't see how a slight mez resistance would hurt.Wouldn't this be of greater benefit to Rad/ defenders than any other kind then (as they would be able to stack the inherent mez resist with AM)? I like the idea, but I don't see how it can be executed fairly and evenly.
I do agree with an HP boost though. While perhaps not too much of a help overall, I don't see how it hurts either. If I'm not mistaken, defenders are tied with controllers for lowest base HP (excluding Khelds, I forget where they fall), so a slight boost could be given without doing much harm I think.
or they can come up with something completely out of the box and create an inherent whose effects differ based on primary, but would still benefit both the solo and teamed defender. -
Quote:While defenders do so many different things, two things hold true; you can't defend when you're mezzed or face planted. Although people will scream and cry I'd say as an inherent, give Defenders mez resistance, much lower than AM, but still significant. I'd also suggest that their hit points be upped across the board.I don't think even most of the folks who love Defenders as they stand would dispute that one. The hard part is finding a replacement that will benefit all of the Defender primaries, given that they are about the most diverse collection of power sets assembled under a single set type label. Some heal, some don't. Some buff, some don't. Some debuff, some don't. Some control, some don't. Some damage, some don't. It's so eclectic that it's hard to find a common theme for an inherent to buff. This is likely a common request is to instead just throw more damage at the problem - Defenders do have damaging blasts in their secondary, and if it's not their primary specialization, at least it's something consistently present in all of their secondaries. They may not need more damage, but it's something you can give them in their inherent that won't be amazingly complicated, completely useless, or hugely benefit some primaries over others.

Apparently during the powers panel Castle said he would like to take a look at Defenders. I'm still trying to locate transcripts or audio to see if he got specific or not, or even if he gave some sort of time line.
Until then, as much as I love my first AT... Vigilance still sucks... -
Quote:That's good news, did he get specific?Looking at your sig, I may get to add a kernal of hope to your search for a useful defender inherent. At the powers panel Castle was asked which AT he would next like to take a detailed look at. Defenders was the one he mentioned. I would think part of any Defender would be a look at the inherent power. No dates or anything announced of course, but it was at least something for those who like defenders.

For now the thing I'm most excited about is that I won't have to start a Villain in the Isles any longer. Those zones are the reason I don't play Villain side.
I hope the fire bullets for dual pistols can set off Oil Slick. The Smashing/Lethal only bullets should have a secondary effect like -def to make it worthwhile.
I'll probably roll a Traps/DP defender and depending on the Demon Summoning set powers, I may roll a DS/Dark MM -
Quote:First off I love the avatar, I have a 9 month old Shiba myself.YAY electric control!
Hopefully it'll focus suitably well on End Drain as a secondary form of control.
RAMPANT SPECULATION TIME!
(I make no claims that this is what the set will be, or even that it remotely resembles the set that we end up getting.)(quoted from Lady_Jade's Power Suggestion Box)(yes Oathbound is me)(innactive account)
Secondly, I think Electricity has the best animations and sound in game. It would be interesting to see how an Electric control set would play.
I have a Kin/Elec defender and found that I didn't like electricity as much as I thought. The damage was low and the endurance drain wasn't very useful. It seems that badguys don't need endurance to attack. I would roll a Electric Kintroller; I assume an electric controller would do much better damage than an electric defender. -
Quote:Get with the program? Who said I don't have accounts to those websites? I'm simply making a statement based on observations from the past few months. It's also a lot easier to get information from the CoX website than to have to leap from facebook to twitter to coh, back to twitter, then to another thread.Get with the program. Facebook, twitter, etc.. is the future of mass communication.
Does the future of mass communication also require that we all be un-opinionated lemmings? -
Quote:I'm not speaking specifically about Hero Con news. This trend has been happening for quite some time before.Well, for someone sitting in the audience of a presentation at Hero Con, it was maybe a little easier to send instant tweets via a cellphone, rather than make dozens of posts via a laptop - and from Twitter, people relayed it here - so we were still getting quotes and info here on forum before the devs had even finished speaking at Hero Con - and I think that's pretty fast
