That is great. I don't know if anyone has asked this yet, but what are the plans for the respec system? Changes like these are great, however I always greet them with a bit of wariness because I very much dislike dealing with the current respec system.

Quote:I hope you can successfully recover your inf!Fun factoid: Global servers are down. The day after I gleemailed several hundred million to myself.
NO I'm not nervous, why would I be nervous?
Is it wishful thinking to want this patch to contain the incarnate alpha slot. -
Whatever it is I hope it has a pie emote

To add to what others have stated I'd suggest getting as many +HP accolades and set bonuses as you can any regen bonuses help also. I'm working with around 1,445 on my main with about 24 HP/sec regen. The BoTZ nerf threw my ranged defense to about 43% which sucks because SR doesn't have a taunt aura to pull enemies from ranged to melee, but always carrying purples helps a lot.

Quote:I have a boat load of toons I haven't played to 50, but that is because I either got tired of the pre-stamina game or I just lost interest in the character concept. I wonder if the devs datamine for how much time these <50 toons are actually participating in in-game activity? The reality is that, as the devs have noted before, many longtime subscribers don't play their characters all the way to 50. They have the access to the datamining to see what the majority of their players are doing and what they'd probably get the MOST value out of in the expansion.

Quote:Yes be completed the trial in a relatively short time, but it was fun none the less. Also even though we gave the trial a backhand slap, it is by no means easy and IMO anything much longer would border on frustrating.2. Yes.. there is CoP.. which was beaten in 18 minutes by a Victory group. All this way for 18 minutes of fun, a badge and ability to buy more of the same IOs already in game. Tip missions are all right. But they lack substance.
I do agree with the overall sentiment I believe you were trying to get to. Understand that no matter how much content is released, some players will "run out" of things to do faster than others. Whether it's because they blaze through new content, or are just not interested in particular new features.
Personally speaking I've only played about 5 times since the GR launch, once for the CoP trial mentioned above, once to create a Praetorian, and three others to take my scrapper to the Isles. The delay in the release coupled with the removal of the Incarnate system did take a lot of the wind out of the sails for me. Fortunately I'm really excited about the system and I'm willing to wait at least to the end of the year. The dev team, over the past few years has come through time and time again, I don't think I19 will be any different. -
If the free server transfers are still going on, you might want to join up on Freedom.

I'm glad I haven't played much this summer.
With every new piece of info that comes out it looks like it's best to wait until GR/I18 to do anything in game. -
Quote:I'm not going to compare I18 with I6 again as I6 had way more content than what we are told I18 will include. That is taking into consideration all that is in the PvP zones (You can ignore ED or include it depending on your outlook). The title for I6 was "Along Came A Spider" I believe, but the only spiders people who didn't buy CoV saw were Arachnos in the PvP zones. The title for these "support" issues is more about the expansion than anything else.
All I'm saying is there may be a missed opportunity to capitalize on something obvious. However, if the mechanics don't work the way I'm thinking they do, then the point is moot. -
Quote:One could also look at I18 "Shades of Grey" and say that the market merger and currency standardizations aren't enough to solidify the title. If they did that, exactly what would Going Rogue consist of? 20 levels in Praetoria and the new sets... that's not enough for a box. We got 10 levels of content in free issues before, and that was 40-50!
I18 allows players to run tip missions, I don't see the harm in allowing them to be able to shift their alignment into the "grey" area. I'm assuming there is an area in between fully transitioning to villain or hero, but I may be mistaken about the mechanics. If there is a middle ground and they are already running the content, why not allow them to benefit partially in the reward. -
Quote:This is one of the negative effects of not having the incarnate system in GR; but I'm hoping that there will be enough players trying to side switch at 47+ that the supply of high level items will still be pouring in.However, since everyone is going to be tooling around low levels in Petoria, supply for high level is going to drop for a bit.
It would be nice if the Devs would allow non GR purchasers the ability to go rogue or vigilante, this may help with higher level items on the market.
After all the name of the issue is "Shades of Grey". -
It gets confusing trying to be two different people with the same community sometimes...

Quote:I thought they already mentioned the removal of all the associated content on Posi's post? To be honest it gets difficult trying to keep these things in order, especially since they already mentioned the alpha slot removal. I really wish they would do away with these closed beta NDAs as far as CoH forums go. We are the same community, having to "bite your tongue" and/or skate around conversations is annoying, especially if there is no malicious intent. It's not like Beta testers never leak info, or engage in other mishaps such as sharing exploits via Team Speak, Vent, email, phone etc etc.Watch that NDA breakage, EB. Or I'm assuming it is, I didn't know that about TFs and the system.
GreenFlame, if you look at the OP, I say I understand why they're doing it, but this does take a big draw out of Going Rogue at the same time. I'm wondering what the expansion is going to do (if anything at this point) to pick up the slack. So yes, it is something of a big deal, slight it or not.
If I broke it I didn't mean to, but I'll take my lumps and won't hold any grudges. -
Quote:Is it a big deal? Depends on the player.Big deal we won't get one tiny incarnate slot, Once Issue 19 Incarnate comes out, we get them all, + the First Slot we will get that was Suppose to be for GR, will be even better.
Because the components you need for the slots are obtained via TFs; it would have been nice to have it released with GR. I say this because I believe many players will be completing TFs that they previously couldn't run because of their faction. It's a "kill two birds with one stone" kind of thing.
Personally all this means for me is that many of my 50s will more than likely be on the shelve until I19. Which I won't be expecting until the end of November or early December. That's just more time to level up something in Praetoria. -

That's pretty much what Hamster said...

Quote:Someone made the comparison of I18/GR to I6/CoV. My point is that the features of I18 pails in comparison to the features of GR (rightfully so). But when you compare the features of I6 to CoV the difference in features aren't as broad. While i18 contains the market merger, trading between heroes and villains in co-op zones, the CoP trial. All of these things have been in demand for a very VERY long time. PvP has always been a small minority in this game, even when it was introduced. In terms of giving players what they want i18 wins.
In terms of giving players what they want; I think the staff for the more part does that every issue. If they don't give us what we want, they always give us what we need. Yes those features are things players have been asking for, but it's also my opinion that maybe a handful more players would return for I18; or at least have more to look forward to if they had a new powerset (or side switching with no Pretoria). What's really the harm in doing so? Yes I know they're a business and they want to maximize their profits; but maybe throwing a bone above in will increase customer loyalty.
As far as PvP, again I said PvP Zones and all the associated zone goodies. For years I never PvP'd but I as well as others use Shivians and nukes as integral parts of the game. -

Quote:I know that's the reason why they did it, that's not the issue. The issue is I18 is, for lack of a better word, "dry". Consider that players that are currently playing CoX could easily go somewhere else. If it were me I'd at least give them 1 of the new sets, or let them switch sides (entrance to Paragon or R.I. only). No offense Enigma, but why shouldn't they try to convince you to buy the expansion? They hired a lot of extra people, they are developing new systems, and trying to inject more legs into an older engine.
They should try to maximize sales on the expansion.
Keep it in the paid expansion, make some money to keep those programmers so we can continue to get cool new stuff and perhaps even a CoH2.
Considering I6 included 3 new PvP zones (and all the associated zone goodies) regardless of purchasing CoV, I'd say I6>I18 (unless you throw in ED). But that's just my opinion. -
Quote:It's like toast with no butter or jelly, it's very "dry". This almost seems like a ploy to get people to purchase GR; once they see how much fun everyone else is having in Preatoria as well as side switching.Issue 18: Things That Should Have Been in the Game Three Years Ago
I think they should have at least given one of the 4 new sets to non GR buyers.
