I'm hoping they talk about they are trying to resolve the constant disconnects and severe lag when the server load is yellow...

Not sure what the reasoning behind this change is, but blind invites were never that big of an issue IMO. Certainly not a big enough issue to warrant coding changes.

Quote:Trapdoor was no problem on my Rad/Sonic defender. I didn't even bother with the clones. He had about 3 out and it wasn't an issue. On the other hand, on my Kin/Psi defender with or without clones I can't take him down. Transfusion doesn't do enough -regen, and even with little to no endurance he still spawns clones. I'm not sure what the point of endurance drain is if enemies don't seem to need endurance to attack.just done, trapdoor, one invuln/dark tank, one dark/regen scrapper, one rad/rad defender....I (scrapper) was on clone hunt...I found one clone looked around and arrived at trapdoor in time to get one shot in before he turned blue....
whole fight...about 30-40 seconds

Bummer, it doesn't seem to work for me. Creating an account in Steam that is. Keep getting "Your account creation request failed, please try again later." I'll keep trying but it will suck if I miss out on this deal.

Yesterday I was mulling the idea of reactivating my second account. (Was missing my Traps/Sonic and Rad/Sonic defenders). I realized I'd then have to purchase GR in order to participate in the Incarnate system. At the time I decided to skip it because I didn't want to pay the price it was listed for. I'm glad I waited! I'll more than likely purchase it when I get home and wait to apply it until the weekend (if possible).

Quote:He does not stop summoning clones once aggroed. I died in mission, went to grab some more insp (took a detour to Steel) by the time I came back he had spawned 12 clones. As I dispatched them one by one without aggroing him he was still spawning clones.I've gathered he never stops summoning them if you just do regular de-aggro things, like die or leave and come back later. In that regard he seems to be like the Rikti Portals in the Honoree mission. I have a hard time believing that's working as desired, but it's possible it's working as designed.
However, I've never verified this myself. I've, ah, never died fighting him. >.> -
I haven't been in game for awhile, just about every TF I run I can not enter a third to half the missions and support has been giving me the run around. I had totally forgot about the Winter event, maybe I'll hang by the slopes and dish out SB to players...
-
I have them both set up to binds on all my kins. My opinion is that SB should have a longer duration. The longer the duration, the less time you spend buffing and the more time you spend doing other things. Ideally I would like it if they both had the same duration (now for the life of me I can't recall which one has the shorter duration). One is 1 minute, the other is 2 minutes (I think), either way the game has evolved where 2 minutes is just too short IMO. On a team of 8 you can spend an entire mission buffing teammates every other mob, which gives the feel of a buff bot more than anything.
-
I have 3 or 4 kins (lost count). I love the set but the short duration for SB is annoying as well as the constant "SB?" from team members. To make matters worse if you take ID it has a longer duration which ruins syncing both powers. This is why although I LOVE playing kins, I barely play any of mines. They only come out if there is an urgent need for one. I've always thought SB should have its duration increased to match ID, or it should be made an area effect multiple target power instead of single target.

Quote:I not only said interrupt, but also animation timesLike that tech just said, the only power in /traps with an interrupt is trip mine and time bomb. Everything else you can use while standing in autohit caltrops, and you'll never be interrupted.
Quote:Apparently you don't understand what i meant by 'kite'. This means having said enemy follow you around while your moving. This doesn't mean putting a toggle on him, and draggin him around with that.
Quote:There are plenty of ways to down trapdoor, and a */traps should have 0 issue with it. He could have an entire room full of clones, and your poison trap is still setting his regen at 0%.
With that said it may all be a moot point for me because post I19 I can not run a TF without constant map server discons entering missions. No TFs=No shards=what's the point of the Incarnate system? -
Quote:You forgot about the interrupt with trap powers. You can't lay traps while getting pounded. The animation also factors into traps survivability. Possibly because traps is a set meant for the most part to be used/set up before combat not during. Also, you can try to "pull" badguys with your primary but you can't kite because there are no togglesTraps defender has poison trap right? Poison trap has -1000% regen.. so..umm.. toe bomb poison trap, and hover blast him?
Or, kite him into the laval and web nade him there?
Or using a combination of seeker drones, FFG and acid mortar just debuff him down to spit, and brawl him to death?
I mean really a */traps defender should be able to just breath heavily on trapdoor and kill him. -
Why can't you just look at the icons in the team window at the beginning to see if they are slotted?

They say misery loves company, so I'm glad I'm not the only one with post I19 connection issues. My issues happen only on TFs, besides the unusually lag, there are some missions in which I just can't get into. I'll click on the door, the load screen will come up... and nothing. Finally I get a "lost connection" message and have to restart. First time I try to log in it says I'm already logged in. This happened Monday evening on a LGTF; I wasn't able to enter the first two missions (no shards for me). The following day it happened to me again on another toon on an ITF. This time I couldn't enter the first mission. Ironically Monday afternoon I was on the same toon I ran the LGTF with and had no issues what so ever, that time it was an ITF.
This is particularly annoying because I enjoy running TFs more than anything else in the game but I am reluctant to because I don't want to be "that guy". You know, the one that basically hogs a TF spot and spends a majority of the time outside missions. I took a break from the game for awhile because I was waiting for I19 and the Incarnate system. Now it's out, I'm back, and I can't reliably participate on TFs.
Previously when I heard about players getting constant disconnects after an upgrade I'd joke and say "It's one of the features"; now I'm on the other side... It's not so funny. Lesson learned. -
Not sure if the devs realize not all players can go toe to toe with EBs, and for various reasons not all players can team. Not being able to drag TD out of LoS just threw a monkey wrench in the tactics of an entire slew of squishes. I don't even want to begin to think what type of tactics to use now on my traps defender. Oh well, at least I was able to get some of my squishes through the arc.

Quote:When I ran TM with my Dark/Fire corr, I noticed he ran a lot when I had my debuff toggle on him. Once I decided not to use it at all he settled down. This time around, we were having a HORRIBLE time keeping him locked down. He's go running around at random, people would chase him into a mine field and we kept having stacking casualties from the mines.

Quote:I have done a 22 minute ITF.
I would be happy to help you complete one if you like.
To do a speed ITF:
1. Damage and debuffs
2. Minimum number to do it
3. Speed past everything to reach the goals only don't fight when you don't need to
4. Crystals take them all down and ignore all mobs and ambushes
5. Jump to computer and AV's to start and do both AV's and the computer at once
6. go down the hill defeating generals as you go
7. Pull Rom onto the platform defeating all at one time and all incoming ambushes.
Now you can tell only some select characters can survive this. The crystals don't leave the entry way if you can't solo the crystal and mobs near it. Done right with the right characters - 6 crystals at a time are all solo'ed at once. I do this with my fire/Dark corr and 8 purples and I can cruise thru with no problem.
Defense is also your friend for speed runs so 2 colds and/or bubblers are perfect! -
Quote:They need to have a MM set with flying pets...Both missions - Battle Maiden and Director 11 - are inherently biased against Masterminds. But this is also true of the Imperious fight in the ITF, a known issue that has been unchanged for years, so I don't expect anything to change.
I'm well used to developers hating my favourite AT. -
That's what I meant, allow the EBs to be bosses for squisher toons
-
I always thought the ambushes were ridiculous but I thought that was by design. I had to tone down my settings to +1/8 when running it on my DM/SR. When I tried it on my usual settings I couldn't figure out why the devs would put FF in the mission just to die within the first 30 seconds of the ambushes. It was a fun mission and I enjoyed the challenge; however what some of players need to realize is that not every toon is built to handle ambushes of that nature. I actually wonder how a traps toon would fair? My guess is they wouldn't do too well after the initial ambush.
-
I have to disagree on the Mender's arc. You need to be able to switch the EBs to bosses if you choose so. This would make it easier to solo with low damage low hit point toons such as defenders. Yes using tactics is first and foremost, but all the tactics in the world don't mean a thing if you can't dish out or take damage and the "get a team" argument doesn't always work due to RL and such. Not only do character skills vary, but so do player skills; just allow the difficulty settings to apply to the arc, that's not unreasonable.

A month or two ago over a two day span I got a respec recipe and two purples. That's the luckiest I've ever been in this game!

Quote:The drop rate may be the same, but when I count the amount of enemies I defeated solo since I19 and get no drops, and compare that to the three I got on an ITF something doesn't seem right. The drop rate in and outside of TFs is exactly the same. The only difference is that on a TF you're usually with a team of 8 so you fight a lot more enemies at a faster pace.
I haven't been reading the forums lately so I'll assume my experiences are unique, if not I'll be willing to help out with chat logs. -
So far I'm really liking the system itself. The bonuses are decent and don't take too much to craft (so far).
I have to say I do not like the fact that the missions to unlock the slot are filled with EBs. I had no problem soloing the arcs with my two current main toons, but when I tried to unlock the slot on my dark/ice and Kin/Elec defenders I came up with an epic fail.
I also wish the shard drops would fall at a better rate outside of TFs.
