Loving it. i19 has made people want to do the TFs I love to doShweeeeeeeee!
I think this is one of the (best) better things that has come from i19. A renewed interest in doing TFs other than the ITF. From my small experience, it was either ITF or nothing (not totally true but....also, except for Sundays or Sats. when certain SGs had events going on).
My main badger, EI actually got the Master of Barracuda badge Sat. night (Sun. morning really) even! Now he just needs the MoLRSF... :/
But yeah...it's nice seeing people want to do more than the ITF.
As far as the OP/original question....it's been hard for me lately (mainly cause I wanted to respec all my toons before the next freespec (which I did do!)).
Here's what I "have" to do (ie. like to do):
- Get more shards/components for my main EI and get him ready for i20 (or whenever the full alpha slot tree gets opened up). Right now he's using the recharge/healing uncommon boost but I want him to go up the left side of the 'tree' for the final rchg/healing/slow/immob. buff and not the final right side (healing/rchg).
- Unlock the alpha slot on all my 50s (20+ or so to do that).
- Once unlocked, slot my 50s with the basic common boost/ability that the toon needs (most will either take the rchg or end. reduction one)
- Lvl up my lvl 27 DA/DM Tanker to 50
-- Once he's 50, IO him out, unlock alpha, get the common ability
- Lvl up my lvl 11 KM/Ninj. Stalker to 50
-- Once he's 50, unlock alpha, get the common ability
- Make lots of (common) IOs that are needed for most of my toons that are missing common IOs. One toon atm, has 0 enhancements in his powers (he had all SOs and wanted to sell them while respec'ing so that I can just slot common IOs when ready).
- And of course, getting badges on my main badger (EI)
With me only have a few hours a day at most to play...yeah...it's 'rough' for me....but I'll take it -
Quote:By the time we finished fighting him in the Tin Mage TF I did, there were bombs EVERYWHERE. The floor was covered in them. Including places that Director 11 never even got close to. I was running around trying to set as many off as I could just so there was floor to stand on again.
In my opinion, the fight with Director 11 was worse than Battle Maiden at the end of the Apex TF. I haven't heard a single other person complain about it, so it's likely that something just went wonky in the run that I did... but it was definitely ridiculous beyond reason.
No, I definitely mentioned it in one of my posts a day or so ago. The whole floor was covered with mines when the team that I was on did it. We couldn't have beaten the AV if we didn't sit/stand by the door where you enter the warehouse from and beat him from range. -
Just my 2 influence here...
I have done both the Apex TF and the Tin Mage TF. My team and I did both back-to-back. We all got the Apex TF (there were 2 in our team that had done the TF before and told us how to get the badges/Mo badge).
Overall the Apex TF was fun/different at the least. A few things even while fighting in the Apex TF I thought (spoilers below):
1.) Wow the final part in the first mission (where you fight all those War Walkers/clockwork in KR) is still boring. Sure maybe the first 2 or so War Walkers is neat but...how many spawned total...6, 8? Ugh, just bags of HP...with one 'trick' that's easily avoidable.
2.) The final mission/fight with Battle Maiden was fun/thrilling. You can tell when the 'blue burn patches of death' are coming so they are relatively easy to navigate around. However, what I didn't like was when BM retreats....she's gone for, what seems to be, a good 10-15 minutes. I was getting bored waiting around for her to come back.
On the plus side, she didn't come back with full health so that was nice to see.
The Tin Mage TF, again, was pretty fun but still had some thoughts about it (again spoilers below):
1.) Again with all the War Walkers...bags of HP...tons of clockwork ambushes....not sure what exactly sets them off but we had like 10, it seemed, ambushes. It wasn't a problem because we had like 3 Tankers and 1 Brute on our team...a few of us squishies died but no team wipes or anything.
2.) Fighting the Malta AV and the prox. mines...yeah....that was extremely annoying. Lots of deaths here (mainly from squishies). The only way we finally beat the Malta AV was by standing near the entrance to the warehouse where mines don't spawn and beating him down. The AV wouldn't stay/come towards us either...he always stood where mines spawned (guessing that's by design).
3.) Last mission...again with the big bag of HPs....I mean War Walkers...Fighting Neuron/Bobcat is/was okay but...to have 2 WWs spawn...ugh... Both new TFs seem to make you have more than 1 'tanker'....which is neither here nor there I guess. -
Quote:Incarnate System: an insult to skilled players
1. Using the RNG (Random Number Generator) to distribute Incarnate Shards puts them in the hands of undeserving players and can deny the shards to worthy players. Randomness should not be used to determine who obtains Incarnate boosts but should be rewarded to those who succesfully demonstrate mastery of their individual skills.
Individual players need to have their skills tested before being rewarded with something as important as an Incarnate Shard. Using the same type RNG system as is used to determine the pick of real world lottery and slot machine numbers is an insult to the Incarnate System and the Incarnate characters. Skill, not luck, should determine who becomes an Incarnate.
...
Okay I'll be honest and say I didn't read anything past this...after the last paragraph I went to the end of your post looking for a "tl;dr" version or a "haha, you thought I was being serious, I was joking!"....but didn't see it.
I'll just do a quick point to what I quoted (not sure if it's been done already or not but....).
The whole "Individual players need to have their skills tested before being rewarded with something as important as an Incarnate Shard." technically has already been done. In fact, that's how the person/character unlocks the alpha slot by doing a story arc that explains and 'tests' the character. -
Quote:Wow...jerk move by those insects or whatever they are.
Seeing that debris field makes me wonder how many battlefields are strewn about the universe. Ships forgotten, battles forgotten, left to drift for eons...
My dad and I watched it yesterday and I thought it was a decent/good episode.
As far as the insects/aliens doing the 'jerk move'...how do you know that the aliens don't 'work for' or are 'enslaved' by the robotic drone army? Maybe they help the drones out for whatever reason...maybe the drones are a part of their own army/etc.
2 "quibbles" about the ep. though for me. When Telford comes in and says 'follow me into the star (sun).' Where was a star all this time? I don't remember seeing one anywhere....
Then the 2nd "quibble" from me. Okay once they went through the sun/star and the drones were not a threat (atm)...why did they 'trust' Telford...why didn't he go through all the "can't trust you...you may be an alien/alien copy..." thing like the "old crew" went through the episode before?
But anyways...I think Chloe just sent an SOS to the aliens that captured her and that those aliens have been fighting these 'drones' for a while so they come in, destroy them and then maybe re-take Chloe...*shrugs* -
EI got his about 2 hours after Liberty came back up...maybe 3 hours (with a good 30 mins of waiting for people to join a 'kill all (most) LGTF').

I would say 'thanks' but there's nothing to say 'thanks' about....
^_^
On another note, I was not totally thrilled with the pilot episode...kind of "meh" to me so far... -
Thanks for the map pack...however I can't download it
I tried using my username and the passwords I usually use but it's not working...registered a new one...now awaiting confirmation :/ :P
Edit: hmm, nm...I was able to download it. -

Hello there all...
Random question...I'm looking into getting an ergonomic keyboard and was wondering what keyboard(s) do you guys use and/or recommend?
I saw the two following here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823109028
Me personally, I was trying to find a split keyboard with the # 6 on the right side of the keyboard since I've learned (and still use) the right hand to hit the number 6 key and not the left hand.
Just from those two above I'd most likely choose the first one since the arrow keys are 'normal' and not 'weird' like the 2nd one
Other "must have's (don't do's)" for me:
+ Has to have a regular size backspace key....I hate keyboards that have the tiny little backspace key and a huge enter key (yes I mistype a bit).
+ Definitely preferred to have it wired...I hate wireless keyboard/mice (at least for gaming that is).
So any thoughts/suggestions? -
Quote:Not online yet for the EU. Still getting 'no response'. But then I'm not expecting one yet since there's 1 hour and 25 minutes expected to finish
Yep, still "no response from the server. Try again later." message here
Edit: Pfft....Freedom and Virtue are up first :/ -
Quote:There have been some questions regarding this promotion that I'd like to take the time to address.
Q1) If I have time remaining on my subscription, how can I take advantage of this offer?
A1) Starting at 9:00AM EST, on November 29th, 2010 through 11:59PM EST, December 13th, 2010, log into your NCsoft account management page. There will be a clickable banner ad promoting this opportunity. If you click on it, it will take you to a page where you can change your payment plan without cancelling your account.
Q2) When will I be charged for the new plan?
A2) This is a payment plan. You only pay when the billing cycle comes to renew again. So there is no payment required to select the promo payment plan.
Q3) If Im set to auto renew in between the dates of the promotion, will I get the benefit?
A3) No. However, during the time of the promotion, you can reselect your billing plan and get the bonus time.
Q4) What are the steps we should take if we want to take advantage of this deal?
A4) See Question 1. There is no URL beforehand that you can go to.
Q5) If I got the bonus gametime during the last promotion, am I eligible for this new promotion?
A5) Yes, you are.
Q6) Do I need to cancel my plan in order to take part in this promotion?
A6) While the bonus gametime promotion is active, you do not need to cancel your subscription plan in order to take part in the offer. Clicking on the banner ad in your account management page will allow you to select a new plan without cancelling your subscription plan.
Thanks for the clarification -

Again thanks for the work/program
Side note/question:
I went through and added all my toons' badge counts to CiT (since it's fast & easy now)....however, my main's badge counter (Energizing Ion) is off by 2.
In CiT it says I have 977 badges, but on live I only have 975 badges. I have done the /info window and clicked on the badge tab and the Sentinel program shows 975 badges listed but when I send the data....the website still shows 977 badges. o_O
Any thoughts/suggestions and/or an easy way to fix this? -

So I just watched episode 8.
And obviously the lack of a thread for a new SGU episodes speaks volumes already
I'm with others in that I don't think Ginn/Amanda should have died...ah well... -
I wouldn't want that...too close to the "Uncanny Valley" for me to like.
-
A lot more mission/map tilesets/areas.....A LOT more...
And I'll agree with what someone said at first, don't put PvP in until it was 'ready' and/or there was something other than deathmatch to do with it (RV doesn't really count since that's just deathmatch). -

Quote:It sounds like getting the easy AV was being hoped for and then when the storm AV spawned there was no actual plan. Reading a strategy or posting a strategy shouldn't be an afterthought. Folks have done the Storm AV and done it relativly quick.
A lot of people posting that they noticed this or saw that. Did anyone actually bring it up while in the mission? Seems to me that communication fell flat and everyone counted it as a loss as soon as they saw the Storm AV.
Yes it was brought up during the 2 raids I was a part of. -
So our 'judgement AoE' abilities that we get in the Incarnate system will work when exemp'ed down but not the alpha slot (and/or any other slots we have at that point)? O_o
Seems a bit off....but oh well.... -
Quote:I get the newsletters, but did not get a closed beta invite email. I did suddenly see the closed beta forums one day and, surprise, I could log in to the beta server. Checked spam folders and there was nothing there.
You might be in closed beta, but not get an email about it.
I've been in closed betas before, received the emails about it but never, ever receive a newsletter from CoH.
There was a thread about this issue months and months ago...I've checked all settings on the ncsoft site were correct and that the checkbox was checked but still no newsletter.
