  1. I'm glad others chimed in but I'll chime in as well.

Lately the new(er) arcs that have been released (Ray Cooling and the villain side one...don't know contact's name) have been great and has some new tech/etc.

  3. Okay so I just finished watching the Doctor Who "Water of Mars" episode (movie in Netflix :P) since I finished season 4.

****SPOILERS AHEAD DON'T READ UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED!****

    .

Okay, so in this episode The Doctor says something along the lines of, "I've been told that I will hear 4 knocks before/when it's my time to die and I don't hear knocking, do you?"

I don't remember that ever being said. Which episode was that in? I did skip like 2 episodes in season 3 and 4 (maybe 2 even)....any clues (maybe I did see the episode it was said in but don't remember it)?

    1st for me

    Grats! I don't think I'll ever make/have that much money....but...we'll see...

    My question is:

What is that icon/power in the Alt + 4 position? I can't decipher it and it's bothering me

    Same here.

The main reason I 'hate' my PB is that I do a human only form (I have the dwarf form as a 'just in case' but 99% of the time I'm human just like my warshade); and with the power choices available for PBs, you have a mix of ranged attacks and melee attacks. The most powerful of the attacks are melee which at first may seem okay, but some of the attacks (even melee ones) do knockback....which makes it annoying to keep running up to mobs when they get KB'ed around.

Maybe just change the KB to KD...and if people want to KB things around, they can put knockback enhancements in the powers.

    Thor trailer

Obviously I know nothing of how this upcoming movie will work within the existing context of the character so as long as it's a good movie it won't really matter to me if it completely trashes/reworks anything that the comic books have established. I guess ignorance can be bliss.

    This ^^^

Trailer looks good and never read any comics (incl. Thor ones) so...yeah....
  7. Yeah and another give-away was that the Atlas statue is surrounding by sky-scrappers and not the City Hall/water pools/etc...and there's graffiti on the wall as well.

    ...

Well that's easy for me to answer...

1.) Because they're an OCD type person where they "have to" complete a toon just because.

2.) Somewhat along the same lines of # 1 but, maybe cause they wanted 1 lvl 50 of each AT (or powerset...yikes that's a lot). I know for myself, I HATED (still do for the most part) my Peacebringer...but I kept going and finally got him to 50...only (main) reason I kept going was I wanted a lvl 50 of each AT.

3.) As Garent said, maybe cause they thought that after getting epics/APPs or IO'ing out the toon that it'd be better.

Those are three reasons that I could think of real fast to answer the question...might be more!

But yes, I'd vote Sonic Resonance for the least played primary for Defenders...with Traps a close second. Me, personally, would make a sonic res. before a traps Def. because I think Traps is a better secondary than a primary (I have a Mercs/Traps MM).
  9. I would assume the first picture took place in CoH beta (before I got in that's for sure) because I, too, have never seen Atlas like that before.

Mez those bosses first, I say, especially with a secondary that will offer you little means to mitigate that damage.

As for trouble mobs, Carnies spring to mind. They've got a bit of psi defense that will throw off your ability to mez most of the group in a single shot. Master Illusionist should be your primary target for confuse. When they summon their Dark Servant, it will debuff the rest of the crowd making survival easier. Nemesis have confuse protection (they always have), which means double stacking confuses before it will kick in to effect. Some of their mobs also have protection from Fear. Part of excelling with Mind control is really knowing the enemy. Leverage things to your advantage by mezzing mobs that will debuff their allies or buff you, Rikti guardians, for example.

I agree with you on this.

I have a lvl 50 Mind/Emp. Controller and although I don't remember solo'ing him too much when getting him to 50 I just solo'ed the Incarnate/Alpha slot unlock story arc.

I almost always confuse the boss(es) first and then worry about the others...sometimes (especially now that I'm 50 and don't care about XP) I just let the boss kill the minions.

For the incarnate unlock arc, I just confused Holtz the EB and let him kill Hero-1 and the other Rikti/portals Sure it may have taken longer but I never got hit hehe....mmm...confuse, use it and love it!

Also like others have said, Terrify is your "damage" power in the Mind Control set....use the AoE sleep then Terrify....work with it and have fun!

Turn Left was good but I still like the episode named "Blink" (I think) the best so far (or at least one of the best).

Anyway, as to the OP... Just because something is mentioned in in-game dialog doesn't mean it's available to the players. As everyone has said already, the "fast track" is just background plot for how a few NPCs got their powers.

I was hoping for the 'fast track' as well (somewhat joking)

Heaven forbid we're allowed to be proactive against these attacks and stop them. Nope, we have to react and run around like idiots dodging them.

    .

Okay so I just watched this video....it doesn't really give you a good example of what we should be able to do.

In fact from what I see, we can do the exact same thing in the game (minus 1 thing).

In the cartoon you see a shield/forcefield that goes around the 2 chars. after the 1st shot from the orbital death laser (or whatever it was).

Then the other toon flies into space and attacks the thing that was firing at them.....gee I think that's what we do when we're attacking the War Walkers....

In fact, the SOL satellite fires off a good 10-14 shots (didn't really count) before it got destroyed...hmm...yep, sounds like the War Walkers.

The only thing we can't really do per se is the force field to stop inc. damage (which I would like to see some sort of force field in this game that actually is a barrier with Hit Points so that it can stop inc. dmg....but that's beside the point).

Not really aware of AE at all?

And a second question, what's something that *would* bring you into the AE building to try out an arc?

For me there are a few reasons why I don't go into AE anymore.

1.) No 'reason' to do so.
a.) No salvage/purple drop chances (and now no incarnate shard drops I presume as well). Sure I can do 'dev approved' story arcs but...meh, I'd rather do new content and/or work on badges/new toons/etc.

2.) Kind of point b/adding onto 1a but...usually people are doing arcs/tfs and that is more fun that trying to figure out what arc is fun and not just loaded with mobs that have all the debuffs in the world in the missions because the author wanted to do a 'challenge' arc.

Only reason I use AE is to 'farm' for tickets for common invention salvage...and that is rare (usually too lazy to do that...).

I would have to disagree here...maybe the devs intended the 'invisible pets' to be...you know 'invisible' (to us and to everyone; meaning they can't die/etc).

Only the devs know for sure but I don't think they'd change something just to watch people cry and moan (maybe they do ).
  16. Just some thoughts from me:

1.) I agree to some extent that the Tin Mage (and Apex) TF(s) are 'boring' to a degree. I've mentioned it before but even while on the Apex TF (and TMTF) when there were War Walkers after War Walkers...they were just a big bag of HP...after 1 or 3 (maybe 4 total) it gets really annoying/boring. The final fight with Battle Maiden was fine/neat.

Again the final battle with Neuron/Bobcat was actually easy...nothing special. I don't remember the team make-up but we had like 3 tankers and 1 brute...the rest were a mix of def/corr or blasters (don't remember). 1 tanker always taunted the 2 War Walkers away from us while we fought Neuron/Bobcat. I never noticed Bobcat go 'crazy' when Neuron died but...*shrugs* she died fast enough.

I did not like the Director AV though that's for sure....or I should say I don't like how he keeps running around (can you immob him? our team couldn't...at least not for long).

2.) I agree that there should be 'solo' incarnate like Samuel has said. I don't mind and would like to see more 'team' content but...options are always good.

I do agree/hope that the content that's coming out doesn't do the whole -4 debuff just to offset the level shifts from the Incarnate abilities.
  17. Is it possible to have Trapdoor stop Bifuricating while you are NOT in the mission?

For example, I was doing this mission on one of my toons and I died from him (1-hit death) and when I came back, he had like 5 or 6 copies regen'ing him....yeah...how nice....
  18. Hmmm, I am a little confused but....

I will say that he just needs to get on a good team(s) to experience the fun of teaming/leveling again.

I always like teaming and doing things rather than sit in a door and gaining xp (although yes I have done that because hey it is fast xp and I can do it while I do other things ).

Teaming with good people/friends/sgmates > anything else in game (except maybe teaming with devs....but I haven't had that so... ).
  19. Welcome back and glad you're feeling better
  20. Welcome back

As others have said, join those 3 global channels and that will usually get you into teams.
  21. My Peacebringer...ugh...man still do not like him at all (he's 50)....it was a huge toil/effort to try to play him and get him to 50.

I probably have a few others toons that I don't particularly care for but...yikes the PB takes the cake.

Edit: Oh and I don't like the MM AT anymore. I don't think I'll make another MM again (have 3 at 50 now). The way I play (solo usually because of my odd hours of playing) I like to just finish the mission(s) as fast as possible...which is hard to do when pets are bringing aggro from the whole map. Yes I can kill them and re-summon but...I'm lazy and don't want to do that.

2nd edit: Oh, reading someone else's post about a TA toon reminded me of my lvl 50 TA/A Def. Yeah I don't care for him too much either. I still have bad memories of him trying to solo back in the day when all I had was Snap Shot, Fistful of Arrows and Ranged Shot as my attacks (beyond the debuffs of TA)....yeeeshh...not fun. Also memories of being in teams and seeing pretty much all mobs dying by the time my powers stopped activating/animating. Of course, it's not so bad now that they've reduced the animation times but...still...bad memories
  22. I'll just say, "it's a weird title." Dark of the Moon?
  23. Hmm, I'm assuming that the Legacy Chain Lts. in this arc count towards the gladiator badge for the Legacy Chain?

I still need to get that one on my badger and if there are a lot of Lts that get spawned....
