Have you ever done a mission and were beating up on mobs (Getting xp/etc) and then failed the mission (due to whatever reason, timed, actually failing it, etc...)?

You still kept the xp that you got from the mobs right? Or does your character give the xp back when you fail somehow?

Edit: and as others have said, there are more trials coming (at least 2 that we know of).

I think this is what I liked as well; some zones had unique fonts/etc. Now they are all the same...*shrugs*

And part of the issue is just human nature...people want to stand out...heaven forbid we all just work together as a team and win as a team.
  4. I understand but yet I don't...

In a group of 12, 24 or 36 people sure you might feel "small" or "get lost" in all of it but....you never felt that way in an 8 man team? Or even a 5 man team?

I've felt "small" in all 3 circumstances.

Ever play a stalker in a team that steamrolls through things and by the time your AS goes off the mob is either dead or it wasn't necessary to use AS to begin with? Sorry had to

If you don't like the new content, that's fine...put your 2 cents in (you did) and move along. I'm sure (hoping too) that the devs will be putting in new content in the next issue(s) for solo'ers and/or small teams to get threads/components/etc....we just have to wait and see.

I like this new content even though I have only been in one Trial so far due to my play time limits.

Downsides are that components are being handed out far too liberally. Right now, it's less an endgame and more two trials that people will blitz for a month and stop once all their characters have a Very Rare in each slot; making rewards too accessible also defeats the idea that Incarnates should feel powerful, special and 'stand out in a crowd' per the Producer's Letter. Costs for Rare and Very Rare components should be increased, and influence/reward merits added to the crafting costs for higher tiers so that people have to play a variety of content to advance.

I would think this wouldn't help at all; in fact it would probably do the opposite.

If something takes 1 month (I'll be generous) for those "Min/maxers" (whatever you want to call 'em) to get the Very Rare on all 4 slots and you think they'll stop after that month which leaves the 'normal people' out to dry after that month. And let's say it will take the 'normal people' 2 months to get the Very Rare on all 4 slots (again being generous).

If you extend that time so that it takes the "min/maxers" now 2 months; I think it would be a multiplication of effort for the "normal people"; so instead of 2 months for them, it's probably now like 4 months. *shrugs*

Obviously I don't know if people will be playing these two trials in 2 months from now but I would say/think that they would be played.

Maybe if/when more of these Trials come out, that the devs could institute a new "Weekly Strike Target" type of thing for Trials...that way it helps people focus on one Trial a week and helps 'normal people' out more...

I know, I for one, wouldn't want an increase to how long it will take to get the Very Rares in the new slots....I barely have much time to play until Saturdays (and then errands come in )...in fact, I can't play right now because of the darn server maintenance

I keed, I keed, okay not too much.

I like Linux and all but Windows it is for me (at least for playing games).

Hmmm, I will have to check to see if my main got the 3 villain respec badges; sure would be nice....(didn't get a pop-up saying BADGE EARNED but...Kheldarn didn't either...so maybe.... ).

I think that's the one you get when you buy the "Good vs Evil" combo pack (back when CoV was still "new'ish" they released a package/box to stores called the GvE edition). I think you can still buy it on the ncsoft store.

You also get the Pocket D tp power.

    PW's war journal

The Empyrean Merits are only rewarded for a successful Trial run...so yes you got 1 for the BAF and 1 for Lambda

    Congrats btw
  10. I wholeheartedly agree that temp flight packs should be usable in these iTrials...kept trying to use mine this morning...luckily I have Inertial Reduction but still....

  12. Hahah, nice stories here

I, too, like the new challenge and can't wait for more I don't have much time (until the weekends) to play the iTrials but still want more power!

I was able to get into a Lambda Trial this morning before work and while I've done a Lambda trial or two on beta, I've never actually beaten it so I wasn't expecting a victory. Heck, the closest I've ever seen Marauder's health go down to was like 43 or 42 out of 100.

So, anyways, we were doing the trial and Arbegla was leading it (or co-leading it with another person; forgot name ) and everything was going smoothly. We got past phase 2 with all 10 acids and all 10 pacif. grenades (got the last grenades in the last few seconds heh).

So we take out 8 of 10 of the portals and we fight Marauder; before I knew it he was getting pummeled. Maybe it was the -regen from everyone (mainly Arbegla's poison trap....mmm...poison trap anyways)....but he was down to like 1/2 health before a few minutes passed it seemed.

We got him down to 12/100 but then we just had too many people die from all the ambushes (still had 2 doors up...not sure what happened/why it happened). After a few suicides, we teamed up and took out the remaining doors (again, I don't remember the pacification grenades or acid grenades respawning outside but THANK YOU for that!).

Kept dying; finally took out most of the Battle Orbs and taking out some of the mobs but by that time Marauder's HP was back to 83/100 or so....and time ran out.

It was fun and I was really surprised, again, how fast/well we were doing

Got 5 threads from it and 23% on my Interface slot
  13. I'll add my 2 inf. in and say "thanks" too I like the Astral merits and, I too, will be hoarding them in case something awesome I want comes out

And yes, I'd like the CoP and Hamidon as well as the Rikti MSR added to the turnstile system if possible.

I think CoP should definitely have Astral merits rewarded like the current iTrials do but...Hamidon? Mmm...not sold on that...it'd be nice but then it might get "farmed" too much....*shrugs* who knows.
  14. First off, I'd like to say "thanks" for this post. It helps to at least know that you guys are working on things.

Secondly, I'd like to say "me too" about one of those bugs (the alpha slot not giving boosts after death). I was on my main (EI Kinetics/Rad. Blast Def.) who has the top tier rchg/healing boost and noticed during a Lambda Trial that I was only healing for 432 HP instead of my 'normal' 503.

I was looking for debuffs/etc...but...didn't see any...but that explains it. 432 is what I used to heal for before the alpha slot bonuses.
  15. The debuff (or 'buff' to the mobs I guess) that I hate is the ACUs getting that chemical burn patch that does huge amounts of -rchg and -spd. Get hit/stand in one of those for 2-5 secs and bam, -300% recharge rate (or more) and it's hard to get out of it because your slowed down.

I think the lowest I've been was like -450% rchg rate heh... Grr...
  16. Yeah this was in beta and unfortunately didn't get fixed as I was hoping it would.

Please devs, allow us to shrink/resize the width of the window!

If anything, maybe have an option to "show tab numbers." So if that is turned on then you see the 1, 2, 3, 4 tab numbers and if you don't have that 'on' then those numbers aren't there (more real estate, can re-size, etc...).

Yeah I knew about the conversion but technically you don't need to get the new merits; it can all be done with threads.
  18. Not totally correct; you get Incarnate Threads from defeating enemies and only need them (well the components too but technically not needed since you can craft the comps. from Incarnate Threads)...so only 1 new form of 'currency' you have to worry about getting.

Astral/Empyrean Merits are good/nice to get but (as far as I can remember) aren't needed to craft an actual ability/power in the new slots.

Edit: Oh and what GreenFlame said; I wanted to say something snarky but...GreenFlame said it better
  19. I haven't seen all the newest loading screens for the zones but some of the ones I have seen are...bland (not all of them).

I'm glad we can get all 6 badges now; I'm sad (not looking forward to) about having to run 3 villain respecs

    issue20 tuesday?

My title at work is "Desktop Support Specialist"...

    I work the afternoon/night shift (1pm to 10pm EST)....which means I most likely won't be able to play w/issue 20 until tom. :/

But the servers are 'up' but still 'in internal testing'
  23. Energizing_Ion

    issue20 tuesday?

I wonder if I'll get to play for a few mins before I go to work today

    lol

Okay so I finally watched it yesterday (Sat.) and, like others, thought it was a good/decent episode.

Anyone think there will be any repercussion on Greer: ie. getting an infection; of course it will be an 'alien' type of infection and he could die but then somehow he gets cured.....*shrugs* could happen and I wouldn't be surprised.

I like Greer about the most in the show so hopefully nothing happens to him.

Also never knew that the one scientist guy (who had to have the surgery), was 'with' that other girl (forgot name).
