So while I was playing a night or two ago someone asked, "what's the difference between the t3 and t4 Lore pets?"
At first I thought that was an easy answer...but then I looked at the descriptions for each (if you have a t3 boss + support or the t3 lt + support vs the t4 options) and I couldn't tell the difference to be honest.
In fact, on the one toon I was on at the time, she has the Vanguard Lore pets; both middle t3 pets crafted (have the boss + support pet slotted atm). I was looking at that t3 vs the t4 boss + support pet option. The only difference I saw was that the t4 lasted 3 mins. (forgot exact numbers) but the t3 ones lasted 5 mins. (so in this case, the t3 is better because they last longer?).
Same HP, same attacks, same damage from the attacks (that I saw) and of course they both give the Incarnate Level Shift bonus so....
What's the difference? -
I had (am still having) a weird issue with youtube. I just get a black screen and if I right-click in the black screen/video it just says 'movie not loading'.
After some looking around, it looks like a youtube thing; if I make it "https" instead of just "http" it worksEmbedded videos work fine too but not direct links to youtube videos....strange; just started to happen to me a day or two ago I think.

haha, okay so I realized I was off a day. I thought today was Wednesday and wondered why there was a patch....then...came to realize...ooh today is Thursday which is normally a patch/maintenance day!

So....I don't see them in the announcement section....what's been changed on live?

Hooray "new" powersets

Quote:If the joke were extended to Praetoria, the best twist on it would be to have "Drunken Girl" (as in, BLIND drunk) hitting (quite futilely) on a "male" Clockwork. Her speech is slurred and has plenty of innuendos about "his stamina" and other thinly veiled references to "his" performance potential (which are funny because "he" isn't flesh, he's literally a Bot). The Clockwork simply responds with stereotypical decline phrases rendered in Clock Speak, like ... CLK.WRK=!INTR.STD ... and so on.
Extra bonus points to the Devs if they can make the "unfortunate couple" circulate around Studio 55 (with her "chasing" after "him").
Extra special bonus points for occasionally throwing in a "Metronome Response" rendered out in full conversational syntax (turning her down, of course) ... which surprises the Drunken Girl enough that there's an almost immediate extra "hit on" attempt, which promptly gets shot down in classic Clock Speak.
Now THAT would be a worthwhile project for a newbie Dev to cut their teeth on.
What?! And no reference to a "fully functional robot"?! (Data from Star Trek)

Quote:Right on, Strato. People are treating trials like TFs, and that's not how they're intended to work....
I'll just put my 2 inf. in here....
If you (we) could join a queue for a trial WHILE doing other things like TFs/SFs, missions, anything really and then when the min. (or max) joined the queue it'd just say, "hey you still want to do this?" Then I'd use the LFG queue.
The turnstile/LFG (TUT) could be expanded to do so much more; ie, show much more. Who is in the queue, what AT, what lvl, what powersets/etc...that way I know if I see all tankers I can bring my debuffing toon or vice-versa.
To be honest, I've only used the LFG queue once to get into a BAF; the other times it's much easier to just be in RWZ (or wherever) and join the league.
I think that until the LFG has more updates and the ability to do what I said above, not very many will use the LFG at all. -
Quote:Incarnate Trial: Keyes Island Reactor
- Anti Matter is getting stuck in walls and platforms
- This is fixed on the current Training Room build.
- The achievement badge Avoids the Green Stuff will fail to be awarded if any pets are hit by Obliteration Beam during the trial. This is not as designed; pets should not count towards this badges criteria and we are currently working on a fix.
Team Up Teleporter
- Open Leagues have up to a 5 minute wait before the Incarnate Trial will start.
- A fix for this is in progress. The wait period to increase the size of the league will be lowered to 90 seconds.
- Players can not invite others to league or teams while in an Incarnate Trial.
- A fix for this is in progress.
Thank you! Love shortening the timer for the TUT/LFG. - Anti Matter is getting stuck in walls and platforms

Quote:From observation..as Leo put it..its just like the Hami blooms, 75%, 50%, 25%.
Although I will say, it has some kind of Leeway. I have seen him freeze time at 90%, 70%, 30%. So the timing of it all is some kind of factor. I will say it helps immensely to have someone make a bind that says to watch out for when the beam hits, and have that person monitor both AM's health and the Obliteration timer, and regulate to some degree, the damage being done so no one gets "caught" in the beam at an AM time freeze.
...
Hmm, okay I know I've seen him freeze time at different intervals too...maybe it's on a timer once you start attacking him (but always at 75% if he gets to that point if the time doesn't expire beforehand).
I like the idea of someone watching everything during AM's fight. I think this is a trial where you need the leader (or whomever) to be dedicated to giving out instructions/warning peeps instead of fighting/gathering temps, etc....or at least dedicated until people know what to do for the most part.
By the way, how many Empaths/Thermals/etc...did you have in the league for this Mo run? -
I'd like to say that it'd be nice to have the ability to start the TFs with 4 people instead of 8. It is somewhat difficult getting 8 people for it.
On the other hand I do like getting 10 threads for 'em now. I would like to see a few things done to the TFs as well:
1.) Remove the -4 lvl penalty if the toon doesn't have the alpha slot.
or
2.) Allow the Destiny/Lore lvl shifts to be applied to the TFs
3.) Let the TFs give an empy a day.
I seriously doubt # 3 will happen because the TFs I've been on (even recently), both Apex and Tin Mage take about 30 minutes to complete.
30 min = 1 empy. merit? Doesn't seem right when a Lambda/BAF/KIR take at least an hour (incl. the wait time to build the team/league up). -

Quote:I can give my thought about why it's hard to get the Bunker Buster badge (harder than people would think)....
We also tried for bunker buster but didn't get it. It's hard to pin down exactly why with so much chaos, but I think we were a little slow on the last door of the last bunker.
I think mainly because people have died from either the mobs from the first bunker or the auto-hit beam. Takes, let's say, 30 seconds to get back to the league and the next bunker whereas the people who didn't die just go to the next bunker and start working on the doors.
I think it might help for the leader to say, "one bunker at a time, wait for my signal" type of thing. That way everyone is back from the hospital (if any) and can go to work.
I know that's what happened when the league I was on last night that I was leading. Only 12 people and I think we had the first bunker down; then people died (incl. me; stupid exploding doors!) and by the time I got back the people were blowing up the 2nd bunker's doors.
Quote:...
All in all, it was painful but a good learning experience. I think the other badges should be easier than A A M. I don't recommend going after all of the badges in one run.
...
Edit:
The only badge I see "requiring" a stacked team is the Loves a Challenge one. Way too easy just to die from Disintegration without dedicated empaths/pains/thermals/etc... -
I think I read this in the badges forum too but, AM seems to do his "Time Freezes" at slightly higher intervals than 75%, 50%, 25%. Last night when I was leading a KIR, he did his first one at 80% (78% at the lowest possibly).
So maybe, 80, 60, 20%? Just fyi -
Quote:I'll try to be there. I've got a noon EST megaraid on LOTRO I've been roped into to help my husband. Hopefully we'll be done by then.
Isn't there a clause in the weddings that says, "can only play CoH and can't be roped in to playing LOTRO, WoW or any other game"? -
Happy Anniversary to a great SG!

Quote:heh wow. When we got the badge, we brought Anti-Matter down to 250HP. A slight breeze would have killed him. The health bar said "0" for the entire last reactor.
We got him down to 9/100, then we said "k stop!" 8/100, "STOP!", 7/100, "KILL THOSE PETS!" heh
Then the main tanker noticed he had a chance for psi. dmg proc and I think it was him (not sure) that got him down to 3/100...switched out tankers and all was well heh....
He definitely goes down fast -
The KIR can be fun just like the other trials. I think people get frustrated too easily/fast.
Everything is hard until people know what to do/how to do it. STF was too hard, now it's easy. ITF was too hard, now it's easy, Lambda and BAF was too hard, now it's easy. And it goes on...hopefully KIR will get "easy" too for everyone
Edit:
As far as getting the badges; I was just in a 12 person league (min. required) and we got the Anti-Anti-Matter badge. We tried for the Bunker Buster as well as Avoids the Green Stuff but....those didn't happen heh
It can be done (we didn't exclude any AT)...it helps to just be on the same page but also be aware of yourself (if I'm being disintegrated at the last fight, I need to let others know/etc...).
I still remember the first time I did a KIR in beta; I had no idea what I was doing but following people/league-mates around but...wow...it felt "epic"/fun. It was a challenge and we almost beat AM (we lost due to the timer at the final phase) but still was fun. It's better now because there didn't use to be any markers for which reactor is which/where it was....that was fun, "go to reactor Genesis"...."uh, which one is that?" -
Quote:It was indeed a perfect run no players were held just the pets. GM's are looking into it...but we are still trying with no pets...just in case.
Ugh, hopefully you'll get the badge....no pets?!
But I was in a nice small league (12 peeps) and got the Anti-Anti-Matter badge. It was hard in the way that it was more of a nail-biter and worrying about hitting him by accident. We had him down to 3/100 and then said 'no aoes'
I even moved my 2 AoE attacks out of my power tray just in case. -
Quote:I love the 5 minutes, but it absolutely needs a visual timer. 5 minutes is not a long time, but it feels MUCH longer when I have no idea how much has passed.
I don't know...usually when I have a league ready to go...5 minutes and sometimes people are way too ADD and want to do it NAO! We are used to it heh
But if there was a timer for everyone to see then it wouldn't be so bad.
One or two things...
1.) If possible, change it so that if I have the max. needed for a trial (24 for BAF or KIR) already in my league and it's an "Open" league, and I join the queue for either BAF or KIR, please start it "Now". Doesn't make any sense to have to wait 5 minutes when you have the max you can have already.
2.) Again, if possible, if I have, let's say, 20 people ready for a KIR/BAF and we join the queue knowing it takes 5 mins, someone will inevitable quit and/or want to join; if there was a way to invite them to the league while we are waiting that'd be great.
Edit: Maybe this is why open leagues have the opportunity (get ?) an extra Astral Merit...have to wait 5 minutesjk

Quote:My Stalker ran two BAFs last night, and if I'm remembering correctly those two runs got him 9% percent of the way toward unlocking Judgment. I do remember squinting at my Judgment slot and wondering what the heck I was doing wrong, I actually went and made sure I had Alpha unlocked on that toon.
Which I did. And this nerf sucks.
So instead of doing say, ten runs of the same trial now we're going to have run then 25 times or whatever for each slot. Like we were not already running these damn things enough! Yay for overkill.
BAFs for me (even before this patch) only ever got me about 15% at the MOST. Usually anywhere from 3 to 10% is where I got from 1 BAF...so no change that I see heh.
Edit: Yes Peterpeter, I use (save up) my threads for comps. only...never have used them for iXP (except in beta)...but some do just that. -
11% for a Lambda? Was this a small league/team or a "speed" run of Lambda?
I usually get 20-30% (usually 30% for Interface) per run on a Lambda...then again we always clear all mobs (except in sabotage phase)/guns/etc... -

Quote:Five minutes seems a long time - I have a couple of suggestions:
- Display the timer. Right now, people don't know why the trial isn't starting.
- At the least, put a message up saying it's going to wait for more players.
- Set the "auto start" threshold to something less than the maximum size. (maybe 75% of the maximum trial size?)
- Just make a shorter delay. Five minutes is a very long time.
So that's why I've been having issues launching a KIR trial with EI...
I totally agree with what Synchrotron said. If you won't make the 5 min. timer shorter, please at least show a countdown.
Also, if possible, let us invite people once the league joins a queue.
For example, I'm setting up a league in RWZ and get 18 people to join me (19 total) for a KIR (or a BAF whichever), now knowing that there is a 5 min. timer, I go ahead and join the KIR (or BAF) queue. Of course within those 5 mins. someone will inevitably come/log in and want in and since we have a spot open, I want to invite them in. As of now, as far as I can recall, I can't do this until I leave the queue.
I guess I could tell them to join the KIR (or BAF) queue but....*shrugs*
I'd say shorten the timer to 1 min. AND show the timer countdown.
