Luckily for me an sgmate text messaged me telling me of this or I would have never seen it
I got it though! -
haha, nice thought! lol
Quote:I'm getting two vibes off that image.
"I'm gonna hug the **** outta you!"
"CAREBEAR STARE!"
Quote:I still want to know why a BCU is such a menace to States. Either he forgot to slot his Alpha, or someone in the art department reaaaalllllllyy must hate Jack.
And I agree; if anything at least a "Vicki" would look cooler like she's about to slice him up or something. -
Hahaha, awesome shirt Turg!
I totally agree too...I haven't really been in a trial that attempts Love a Challenge. I've now been getting iXP for my Mind/Emp. Controller and trying to get him up and all 'incarnated' out and stuff so that he can be one of the 3 or so Emps/"healers" to help out in getting the Loves a Challenge badge.
The worst part, for me being an Emp., is when someone is Disintegrating and then the Freeze Time happens....can't heal 'em -
Very nice! Thanks for the info!

Hooray, I finally got the Avoids the Green Stuff badge tonight on EI.
Only took the league (about 4-8 of us that were steady league-mates) about 1 week to get it (1-2 attempts per night) heh....we get so close but then someone gets hit by it....now we got it!
Now for Loves a Challengeheh
-
If only we had new powersets to play with to make new toons..... >_>
-
Quote:That's the thing; sure it's available to all but that doesn't mean everyone has the powers. If someone else has taken powers to be fast, why would you not also have to take those powers to be fast? How is that any different to taking healing powers so you can heal or attack powers so you can attack?
My complaint is that the SYSTEM ITSELF is (attempting to) accommodate players who do not have fast characters by slowing down those that do. DESPITE the painfully obvious fact that absolutely ANYONE can be fast because the speed powers are available to every archetype.
On any FPS, everyone starts out with the same gear (unless you're cheating), there are more powerful weapons, health packs, etc...to get and available to all. All you have to do is get to x spot before the other person and wa-la you have it. No one has super speed or flight or teleport to get there faster than you do so everyone has an equal chance (of course some people may not know the maps and where things are but...that comes with experience).
What I'm saying, and I've said it before when i13 was coming out, I think that the i13 changes were for the most part unnecessary. i13 also introduced the dual build system/ability. I thought that with the dual builds that it was a good 'compromise' for pvp builds. You could have a pve build and then change into your pvp build and go on.
If everyone (no matter what build), when they entered a pvp zone, automatically got Super Speed, Super Jump or any other "required" power then I wouldn't have an issue with most of it (I still don't like run and gun just for run and gun's sake).
Obviously that's not happening any time soon but...that's where I'm going.
Quote:I know the idea of any type of PVP having a barrier for entry is a bad one as it excludes new players. But any competitive game will have a "best gun" or "best car". You can't complain that Jedi Knights keep beating you when you refuse to use anything but the hand blaster because you're "RPing as Greedo". ...
Pfft, Greedo shot first! -
Quote:If two players WANT to stand and fight they're still able to do that.
But what about the players who enjoy fast paced combat? Why should they be slowed down to accommodate you? Especially when you are more than capable of taking powers to match their speed?
So to join in on PvP I have to make/take powers that I usually wouldn't just so that I can join in? Isn't that why you don't like what I said? Why do I have to accommodate you (or others)?
Anyways....
Look, there needs to be more than just 'pvp'....there needs to be an objective in pvp beyond just killing someone. Capture the flag, king of the hill, SOMETHING.
If I want to pvp, I'll play the latest fps (which btw I loved doing; quake, twf, unreal, etc...)...I didn't mind team deathmatches but I loved capture the flag/defending a base/etc...I'm a sniper at heart so I like defending.
I know the devs tried to do something like this in RV but...there are no real rewards for taking over RV...double xp in the zone for 1-5 mins? meh...
And just so you know, I'm not arguing against taking away Heal Decay or Travel Suppression....Travel Suppression should be gone wholesale (in pve too) I think. -
Quote:It wouldn't make it more fun for me. Every time I've done PvP in the past, easily the biggest problem that outright ruined my experience has been travel powers as used by myself and other players. Nothing sucks more than getting the upper hand on a difficult opponent, only for him to fire up Super Jump and disappear over the hill.
^^ So much this.
I hate kiting-pvp (which from what I have seen (even before i13) and still now) seems to be what CoH is/was about. *attack, run away* Stand and fight! I love the monkey cage arena map -
Quote:Redside isn't dead, it is full of blueside players visiting, briefly, for the badges.
hehe, I chuckled at this because it's true!
When GR launched, the FIRST time I ran a St. Martial SF (Ice Mistral SF) was because of my main (EI) needing the badge. I was never on (or had the time) to run an IM SF before that! Sad too because it was a very neat/cool SF!
Oh and the Renault SF was new to me too...I thought I had done that one before but I was thinking of the SG comp. SF one. EI had to do the Renault SF and again, a neat SF -
Quote:I agree with this...I believe Energizing_Ion is saying that completion of the trial should not be a requirement for this badge. Given the other badges (Synchronized and Not on My Watch) do not only award on a successful completion of their respective trials, neither should Bunker Buster.
It wasn't what I was saying in a way though...I said we all thought we had the doors down within 3 seconds of each other AND we beat the trial/AM down....but no badge.heh
No worries though, we finally got the Bunker Buster badge just now
Now all EI needs is the Avoids the Green Stuff and Loves a Challenge badges -
Quote:One thing that I really wasn't expecting that isn't terribly clear in the badge description is that Bunker Buster gets awarded at the very end of the trial. So if you destroy the bunkers but fail to beat Antimatter (which happened to my group last night), no delicious badgeyness.
Yeah I (our league) knew about that and I do find it strange...doesn't badges like Synchronized and Not on My Watch get awarded to you immediately? I can't remember now. -
Quote:That is the thing. Midnight dodger attempts still aren't common on some servers. And if they are, they generally have people getting multiple nukes from Warburg, and shivans from Bloody Bay still.
I'd agree; the only way I got that Midnight Dodger badge was that almost everyone had warburg nukes and shivans/lore pets/etc...nuked the poor AV to death.
Oh and, ran 3 Keyes tonight....the last time we got soooo close to getting the Bunker Buster badge but....I guess we didn't cause no badge
Edit: No other badges eitherThen again we only had 1 empath at the most during the 3 runs...

Well I just saw the movie with my brother (an early b-day gift from him
).
I'll just say I'm glad I didn't pay to watch the movie...
It was an okay movie but...wow were there a lot of skipping going around..."the autobots are captured"...really, when did that happen?! "autobots attack!" Really, when did they get free?
Don't care for the blond girl either...looks way too fake/vapid....
I'd agree that Megatron was kind 'meh' in this movie too...I don't remember how he was left from the tf2 movie....*shrugs*
Edit:
Oh and was Bay trying to add in 'blood' to the robots? I saw quite a bit of red liquid 'blood' when arms/what not got cut off....red oil? really? -
As others have posted and said before, I'll post again...
The queue won't be used a whole lot (by many) until the following happens (I think at least):
1.) You can do everything you can do normally (missions, tailor, etc) WHILE in the queue waiting.
and
2.) You can see how many people are in the queue already.
2a.) Also see what ATs/powersets/name of person/etc who is in the queue. -
Yeah I'm not sure I can do a regen. toon anyways...the last time I tried I just didn't care for the 'always dead' thing going for it. Granted this was in the lower/teen levels and I just didn't like that I had 0 def or res. to anything and didn't like the clicky nature of healing myself.
However, with IOs and what not now...build for def. and maybe that's not a huge deal...
Oh and I was somewhat joking about me joining a team on a set date/time. Lately things have been going on in rl and don't have a steady time to play coh...my mom had knee surgery (total knee replacement) and so helping take care of her outweighs CoH (granted my dad is here/off of work for now but...he'll be going back to work soon). -

Yep, I still have the original "The Conduit" for the Wii to finish and Metroid Prime 2 (from the Metroid Prime trilogy collection edition for the Wii) to beat as well
-
-
Hmm, depending on the other powersets (Titan Weapons and the other un-announced powerset)...I may wait to make a TW/Regen. Brute...hmm...choices...
-
Ah thank you both
I thought the t3 support pets were untouchable as well (in fact, I thought all support pets no matter what tier lvl they were at were untouchable).
