    The Done Club

My main (EI) just dinged 1236 too tonight!

He finally got the Loves a Challenge badge (as well as the Master of KIR badge)! 2 great KIR runs back-to-back to get the badges (1st run I was on my mind/emp troller helping out then swapped to my main badger and got it ).

And congrats Zombie_Man, you and I are tied with 1236

    Until i21!
  2. I'm not 100% sure I'll be there; I have a friend's wedding rehearsal to go to in the morning; should definitely be done by then but...just "in case"...if I'm not there then I'll wait until next weekend (this Sun. is the wedding so I think I'll be there that night )....

I'll try to post here...but if I'm online I'd like to try the 1st run for 8 or 9pm EDT this coming Saturday.

    Edit:

I'm sure most of the people that will read this know how to do it (get the badges) but...in case it helps:

I liked the queue method too. I didn't have any issues and it was definitely faster than waiting 20 mins to get 23 out of 24 and about to hit the queue when "wait...friend is coming."
  4. Welcome back

No new info. here but just wanted to say, "I use Mids too" Sometimes it's "fun" to level up a toon in Mids and IO him out....never actually carry that over to the actual game because...well I don't have billions of inf. to buy purples/recipes that would work for every toon that I make
  5. Yeah I'm not "too worried" about who brings what....I think we would need at least 2-3 Empaths (have another 1 or so Thermal/Pain to help out/etc)....but that should do it.

Then just need 1 person to be able to taunt AM near the regen. stations so that the freeze time power doesn't last as long.

    Edit:

This topic is mainly trying to figure out what night (Sat. or Sun.) would work best for others without stepping on anyone else's toes with scheduling issues. If Sun. night works best then so be it...if it is, then I most likely can't do it this Sunday night...going to be at a friend's wedding and not sure how long the reception is going to be.
  6. I'll try to be there as much as I can...doubtful though with my work schedule.

As I said above, it is not just about the badges, though that is bad enough. It is also about the deterministic method for getting Incarnate Components, if the badges are too hard to get, then the deterministic way to get around the random reward table might as well not exist.

I didn't say it should be the answer (the dev's answer at least). It'd be an "answer" (workaround) for us though that play on either low pop. servers or just have a hard time finding people smart/fast enough to know what to do and when to do it.

I definitely agree that the badges could have been different for the Keyes trial and hopefully badges like these "won't happen again".....
  8. Either I've missed the Keyes trials forming (possible now that I'm back to night-shift work ) or they just haven't formed lately (I think I saw that Wulfrich has been afk for a bit...maybe that's why).

I'd like to try to get a schedule going; every Sat. night at x time EDT we'll try for the Loves a Challenge badge (and other badges but mainly the Loves a Challenge badge).

I know I have my Mind/Emp. Controller ready to go to help out and I know there was 1-3 others that had some type of "healing" toon. Obviously I want the badge on my main EI but...if I can help get the badge on other toons then I can hopefully get it on EI when they help me out.

So since Sat. nights (possibly Sunday nights) are the best nights for me....what time works for others?

8pm EDT, 9pm EDT every Sat. night?

    Edit:

P.S. I'll take anyone that wants to come; as long as they aren't sabotaging things on purpose.

And this badge is the one that requires no one dying during the AM fight and not blowing up any of the 4 (12) regen. terminals.

We had a couple of people make lame excuses and quit but if anything that made it easier

Still I look forward to trying again

Hmm, yes there is a timer for the whole thing. I'm kind of surprised a little bit, the 3rd reactor has the longest time (I think 28 or 30 minutes to do it).

Keep at it and you'll get the hang of it!

Yeah I never received a splash screen message either for the 87 month badge and when I heard others using the /vault command I was upset...."where's my badge?!" I thought

I then tried the /vault command and it worked...."oh.." *goes to check most recent category in badges....* "oh, it's right there..."
  12. For badges like these; I think the free server transfer when i21/freedom launches will be a good thing. Us badgers could transfer to a specific server (VIP one?), get the badges, then go home.
  13. Hmmm, let's see:

I like Ghost Widow, Mako and Scirocco's looks/costumes. I also like Praetorian Nightstar's costume.

I'm a bit tired at the moment getting home from work but...that's the only ones that I remember liking at this time.
  14. Yeah CoT get nasty around the 20s/30s. All Spectrals (minion and Lt. class) and their stupid -tohit pbaoe...and of course the Ruin Mages...ugh..painful. Then you upgrade to Earth Thorn Casters.

Sure one isn't too bad but I HATED the Earth Thorn Casters when playing my MM...quicksand plus stalagmites nearly killed my pets

    Edit:

Then you move to the 40s/lvl 50. Air Thorn Casters and Fire Thorn Casters....*yawn*

Keyes is a good test of people who will look at something like that and yell Challenge Accepted! And those who aren't. As I'm often saying, and often have said, nothing worth having in life is easy to get. The bigger the challenge the better the prize. I say, bring on the Keyes Trials!

I think there may be two things that people 'hate' about the Keyes trial:

1.) The auto-hit pulse (lots of dying usually; or at least "Lots" compared to any other iTrial)

2.) Feeling overwhelmed at what to do. Lots of things to know/do and what not to do....so many warning pop-ups that it's hard to keep up with it all.

But I do agree somewhat that there aren't a whole lot of debuffers/buffers/"healers" toons that are good at doing those things. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good people here at Liberty but there does seem to be lack of good Empaths/Thermals/Pain Dom. as well as other "buffing" ATs.

I've said it before to some friends/people online...I "love" playing an Empath (or "healers" in other MMOs); but only "love" playing them when there is actual healing needed...if nothing is happening/the team is so awesome it doesn't need healing a whole lot then...yeah..I'm just another buff-bot...do not want.

But in the Keyes trial (really in any of them that I've been on lately), healing is "fun" to me. Keeping the main tanker/taunter alive is hard by itself! Timing when to use Heal Other, Absorb Pain, Healing Aura, my Rebirth Destiny heal...Regen. Aura...all good stuff...oh and I have to keep myself healed too!

I've died a few times from the auto-hit pulse cause I had AP on me and couldn't heal myself...Regen. Aura and the Rebirth Destiny powers are really nice when healing is needed since the +regen still heals me even with AP on me

    Anyways...

Don't get me wrong I was able to test the Keyes trial out and at least knew what to expect for the most part....but on the other hand...it is somewhat of a mentality.

Go in to try something new, have fun. As long as everyone in the league knows that you as a leader don't have any experience in it and everyone is fine with that....go for it! Never know what may happen.

But it's not a huge deal...I know some people don't like to lead period so...*shrugs*

It is "funny" when there's a league that's doing well and sweeping Lambdas, BAFs with ease and the first mention of, "anyone want to do a Keyes?" and bam, all-of-a-sudden everyone has to leave

Was a bit off-topic, not trying to derail anything so...

I'm glad for anyone leading trials; but especially as more and more people are getting used to Keyes. I know the auto-hit pulse and the "lots of deaths" may get to some but...we'll keep at it!

Just like the movie had the plane heading to America, the same happened in the comics, but Bucky was with Cap when trying to stop it. In the comics the plane exploded, killing Bucky, Cap fell into the ice.

So obviously a huge Cap fan, saw both made for TV cap films of the lated 70's early 80's as well as the 1st Cap movie from the 90's, LOVED this movie!
Hit just about every note a cap fan could hope for
The Jim Hammond/orignal torch easter eggg was especially funny given the Mr Evans also played Johnny Storm
And Bucky did die, the term 'bucky dead' was aroundin comics for along time. It was only in the last 4 years or so that he was brought back. so from 44 [or 63 depending on your viewpoint] till 2009 or so is a long time to be dead in the comics world

Back in the Captain America Comics of the 40's and 50's from Timely/Atlas (Marvel's previous incarnations as a company), the book always had Steve Rogers as Captain America. Both he and Bucky survived the war and would eventually fight the communists. The original Bucky, James Barnes, was shot and wounded too badly to continue as Bucky as I recall. Fred Davis becomes the next Bucky until he was shot in the leg and had a permenant limp afterwards. Cap's next partner was then a woman, whose character name escapes me.

After Marvel Comics got started, they did a story with Johnny Storm as the Torch that had a foe of his masquerading as Captain America who was exposed as a phony. At the end of the story was a caption box that asked fans if they wanted Captain America back in action. The answer was a resounding: YES. Thus comes Avengers #4, the Submariner at the time was a villain, or at least a bit deranged, and came across some Eskimos worshipping a frozen man. He drives them off and hurls the frozen person into the sea where the ice block drifted to warmer waters and began to thaw and melt. The Avengers are in their submarine searching for Submariner when they see a figure floating in the waters and pull him aboard. Beneath the torn military uniform he wore was the costume and shield of Captain America. He wakes up, a bit confused, has a brief skirmish with the Avengers until he calms down and tells the story of his last mission in the war, which was about an experimental plane being stolen by the enemy and how it was booby trapped and Bucky was killed in the explosion and Cap fell into the icy waters. This story was a major retcon from Cap's history in Captain America Comics, and part of the retcon was that Bucky was killed due to Stan Lee having an "anti sidekick philosophy" at the time.

The retcon is expanded in later years and it's shown that the Spirit of 76 and Fred Davis were asked to take over as Cap and Bucky by the President so that the public and military wouldn't be demoralized by the knowledge that Cap was gone. Spirit of 76 was killed pretty quick and Jeff Mace aka the Patriot becomes the 3rd Captain America with Fred as Bucky. Fred gets wounded and Cap gets a new partner for a time until he retires as Cap. In later years the Patriot would perish from cancer. The Cap of the 1950's, the "Commie smasher" Cap, was a man who idolized Captain America and wanted to be him to the point that he wrote essays on Cap and found an old Nazi storage area that contained a book that had the formula to the super soldier serum in it. He has himself alerted to look and sound like Rogers and the deal was that the govt would deploy him in Korea but that war ended before he was ready. He then becomes a teacher and meets another Cap fan, Jack Monroe. They decide to be the new Cap and Bucky and take the serum and fight the commies. The serum drove them nuts and they were captured and put in suspended animation. Jack eventually gets better and becomes Nomad. The other Cap would be brainwashed into becoming an enemy of Cap and be supposedly killed until he was recently brought back in the comics for a time. Last I heard was that he was killed again but of course there is always a door open for a return.

For years Bucky was on the officially unofficial DO NOT RESURRECT list until Ed Brubaker brought him back as the Winter Soldier. He is eventually rescued from that, takes over as Cap when Steve was "dead", and continued as Cap after Steve returned and was recently killed in the current FEAR ITSELF mega event. He had a hole punched through his chest so I'm not sure how they will undo that to bring him back, but of course this was also done to get Rogers back as Cap for the movie.

    And now I'm confused...

    But thanks for the info.

    Yes thanks Wulf

There seems to be about...3-4 people that want to "lead" a Keyes...Wulf, myself and one or two others I can't think of

I really need to make my own macros up so that I can start leading badge runs for Keyes.

Speaking of which; all this week (25th-29th) I'm doing the day-shift at work so..I'll hopefully be able to do some runs at night
  21. Thanks Doughboy!

And speaking of Bucky....I didn't think he died...again, not a comic person but...I thought Bucky was always Cap's sidekick...or is it one of those things where "Bucky" dies but the next sidekick of Cap's is named Bucky too?
  22. Just got back from the movie...

It would have been better if I wasn't sitting in the 2nd to front row....was looking up at the screen the whole time....painful and annoying...thanks brother that's always late to movies! (grr )

I thought the movie was pretty good; wasn't totally blow me away awesome but it wasn't bad.

I don't care for how they started the movie....but that's just me, I don't like movies that start out at the "end" of the movie and then go back to do the movie. But that fact was mitigated by how they ended it....so it wasn't that bad.

I would agree...it was kind of "dull" in a way I guess...there was action in it but...it was kind of glossed over I think...*shrugs*

Overall, I really liked the teaser trailer for the Avengers movie next year! Although in that trailer I didn't see Hulk in it....did I miss him or just not shown?

So for this year's (superhero-based) movie releases....I'd rate them like so:

    1.) X-Men First Class
    2.) Cap. America
3.) Thor or Green Lantern (both about the same to me; maybe a slight edge to Thor)

P.S. Oh, and what was that cube that the Red Skull had? Was it one of those "cosmic cubes" that was shown in the teaser after the Thor movie?
