  1. Interesting...I liked the first one well enough...so....if there's more fight scenes...I'm good!
  2. When I was looking for him with my main; we had about 8-16 people looking for him.

Someone finally found him just a tad NW of the Thorn Isle...he was in the water probably about 50-100 yards from the island/shore.

Setting up a macro/bind helps too.

But I do agree in some way, with the "woes"....especially with a new patch like this is coming. I have tested/played with all the new and shiny stuff I wanted to in beta...so now there's nothing "new" there to test. I log on to the live servers...and all I have are lvl 50s...and no one to do itrials with (I play in the AM when not a lot of people are on)....so...I just log out...since there is no fast/easy way to get incarnate components.

So now I'm at the "eeh...just waiting for new powersets/the patch to hit live so I can make a new toon(s)." stage of CoH.

I think my fastest non-pl'ed lvl 50 was my Bane Spider VEAT toon when the VEATs were new. He got to 50 in 70 hours (usually had an 8-man VEAT team going)...we went through missions so easily with all the +Def/+tohit/etc...

I might have a toon that went faster than that (again, without pl'ing) but can't remember.

Edit: Oh and I just looked at one of my toons (lvl 50 Fire/Earth Dom.) and he got to 50 in 127 hours (according to my info. dialog description)...he was mainly solo too.

There are relatively few -DEF and -RES powers in comparison. Most of your -DEF comes from the Mk-VI Victorias.

Personally, I think this is why Regen feels gimped in comparison on the higher end iTrials.

Yep, I remember doing a mission with my sgmate (he was playing his Spines/DA Scrapper and I was on a newly lvl bumped KM/Willpower (or regen forgot which) scrapper).

The mission had all praetorian clockwork in them...all that -regen killed me so fast it wasn't funny. Killed my friend's scrapper pretty easily too (when he normally doesn't die too much/very fast).
  7. The 'funny' thing to do is start up a trial (BAF/Lambda) and get a good league together showing everyone that the league can take out BAF/Lambda with ease....

Then after a BAF say, "okay who wants to do Keyes?"

Watch them scatter and say, "g2g"

I've even seen where I was in a trial (not the leader) and someone mentioned "keyes" and people were like, "no!!! I hate keyes!"

    Sad really

    Spirit Tree

I wouldn't mind a buff of some sort for both Spirit Tree and the trap's Triage Beacon power.

Maybe a small Heal over Time would be nice if you're standing next to the power (in the radius of it) and if you're not next to it, then you just get some +regen instead.

Hmm, strange...I would have thought the Incarnate powers/proc would act like any other proc in the power. Maybe it's been changed since I've played my TA/A

    *goes to test*

    Fixed that for you

I love my Mind/Emp Controller...puts all AVs to sleep (in STF)
  11. Energizing_Ion

    Burnout

I didn't think I'd get Burnout on many toons (not enough power choices/slots for them! )...

With that said, I might just take it on my Mind/Emp. Controller.

    Mass Confuse, Burnout, Mass Confuse

Ta-da all those adds in iTrials are now on our side

And the -end/recovery part of Burnout wouldn't be an issue with him because of RA

Edit: In fact, Burnout would be nice for 'buffers'...2 people could have AB on them at the same time (or 3...my mind/emp can have AB on 2 people for just a few seconds; especially with help of outside rchg boosts).
  12. From what I understand (and have tested with other similar powers) any debuff proc causes aggro.

When lvl'ing up my TA/A defender, I had the chance for tohit debuff proc in Flashing (Blinding?) Arrow. It always caused mobs to aggro on to me even though the power itself shouldn't cause aggro.

I mentioned this once while on a team and a person said, "you have a proc in it?" I did and then took it out next respec and never had an issue again.

So for my Mind/Emp. Controller; he has 0 interface powers made/crafted because...no point...he was made to put AVs to sleep (for STF/etc)...so...yeah...it kind of stinks

Edit: Which is somewhat silly because if you use an AoE sleep power (or any sleep power) and then debuff them with powers like Fulcrum Shift, Siphon Speed, etc....they don't 'wake up' from it....something with the proc that makes them aggro on to you.

Have the tanker/brute/whoever's got aggro move antimatter as close as possible to the appropriate point, and his flight time to the regen point is short enough that you have to get *really* unlucky on the timing of the Obliteration Beam/Time Freeze to be unable to avoid the beam.

Having someone watch the timers and hit a 'STOP hitting AM, beam coming!' bind 4-5 seconds before the beam's due also helps to make sure people aren't rooted by animations when it comes time to move.
    ...

Yeah, it's possible. In the runs I've been a part of the tanker (the leader of the league) usually has a few macros set up, one to say "5 seconds until oblit. beam, stop attacking!" and the other, "oblit. beam fire, keep moving around" (paraphrasing).

He also does the macro of "stop attacking AM" when he gets close to the 75, 50 and 25% HP meter so that we can time his freezes in between oblit. beams.

Yes, this is much easier with only 12 or 14 or so people instead of 24...but that goes with anything, it's easier to coordinate 8 people than it is 12, and so on and so forth.

There was a couple of times where when we were going for the Loves a Challenge badge where someone was being disintegrated right when AM froze time....yeah...scary stuff but luckily AM's usually right next to the regen. stations so the freeze time doesn't last long and we were able to save the disintegrating person and get the badge
  16. They are a bit better but...still don't particularly care for the new look.

After about a half hour of this we finally found out that they were on voice chat with a friend and had all of their in-game chat minimized as to not get distracted.

I can almost guarantee there were 7 facepalms at that moment.
    haha, wow.... ;facepalm indeed!

And yes, getting people to follow instructions is a pain.

Even in Lambdas when I lead one, I say "leave 3 or so portals/doors open so that we can get the extra astral merit." Sure enough...only 1 door ever stays open...and sometimes none...

The worst part is sometimes by the time I type out "leave 3 or so doors open" that text bubble actually stays up DURING the cutscene...so EVERYONE sees it....still...0 or 1 doors stay open

That's not much longer than a Lambda, and the Lambda isn't much longer than a BAF.

Have you considered setting up training runs, led by people know either are experienced with the trial mechanics, or honestly just know how to read a Wiki page? I'll be hosting one for Freedom this week in Praetoria (the geography is identical to the trial, including the bunker doors). It's a great way for people to learn the run in a non-panic environment, so they're not slowing everyone down by asking constantly, "OMW WHAT DO I DO NOW WHY AM I HURT OMG OMG OMG".

If you're on Freedom, watch the forum, that invite will go up probably tonight. It's about time players broke out of their comfort zone. This is your opportunity.
I haven't read all of the posts here but... ^^^ This so much.

The Keyes trials I have run with lots of 'new' people before we even queue up I go through step-by-step of what to do. This in and of itself takes about 10 minutes. I, of course, explain what to do in the trial itself but it helps to give an overview of what to do once inside.

Also, as far as I know, the cutscene is not "start once zoned in"...you have to run/fly to a certain point and then it starts....which I'm guessing most people who zone in first do while waiting for the others...just like BAF.

The biggest thing about the whole trial is to have 1 person COMMUNICATE what to do/where to go/etc. The one or two times where I was leading it, I was mainly telling people what to do and not actually doing the tasks. I was saying, "done on 1st floor, to the 2nd floor" and "get this terminal here" etc, etc....

It's sad that people won't do the trial; just did it twice last night with a group of 12 or so people and got the Loves a Challenge badge...once with my mind/emp troller and once with my main (kin/rad def)...that was fun. Healing people, working together, etc...

BAF and Lambda are 'way too easy' now...especially Lambda. As long as you have a few buffs/debuffs, BAF is easy as well.

Sorry for any repeat information if others have said what I said already.

But you bring a good point about this upcoming weekend....well, I'll be open to any attempts for badges in general so...if there is interest I'll help out if I can!
