I hope it's Street Justice too!
I just got my Time Manip./Beam Rifle Def. up to lvl 27 this morning (perfect for lvl 30 common IOs)!
Time for a faster solo'ing toon...give meh StJ! -
I heard they were going to release it tomorrow but then they saw your post and now we can't have it!
Thanks for nothing EvilGeko....this is why we can't have nice things!

Quote:Nope, Beta Ray Bill was introduced during Walt Simonson's first Thor story. He's an alien who's been radically altered and enhanced to be the protector of his people. He also seems to be the influence for Allen the Alien from Invincible, if you're familiar with him.
Ah okay, I'm not familiar but will look him up! -
Ah okay thanks all for the explanations
I didn't know about Cap. and Beta being able to pick up the Mjolnir (side note, isn't Beta just Thor but in the "ultimate" universe or something? Just remember Beta being in the X-Men/Marvel 2 game on the Wii years ago). -
Okay thanks again
I should have mentioned in my first post that I knew he was vulnerable to telepaths but ah well.
The Hulk is the only one that's lifted the Mjolnir right (other than Thor)? -
Hmm, thanks you two
I wasn't sure about the whole "one-shot" thing so that makes sense. -
Hello there...
So I watched X-Men First Class w/ my brother a day or two ago (first time for him; second for me). And even in the 90s X-Men cartoon I liked the Hellfire Club/Shaw.
My question (or questions) is this...
If Shaw fought someone like...The Hulk...who would win?
I would have to go with Shaw since he can 'absorb' punches/etc, how could the Hulk hurt him? I guess the only thing I can think of is that after so long, The Hulk gets so strong from being angry (that he can't hurt Shaw/etc) that he could hurt Shaw.
Either that or Hulk could throw him out into outer space/etc...
Which by reading the wikipedia article on Shaw is how most dealt with Shaw (just removing him from the fight but not actually fighting him)...or by freezing him (since that's not a "direct" attack).
But then I think of the 90's cartoon where the Dark Phoenix beats up everyone and Shaw runs away; granted in this case, I don't quite remember how things panned out; but I think Shaw didn't really ever fight/get hit from the Phoenix, but rather it was too many X-Men vs just him/etc and with the Phoenix going crazy he just wanted to leave.
So a "god"-like being like the Phoenix/etc could defeat Shaw I presume but...could anyone else (like The Hulk)?

Quote:...If we are to believe that Terra Nova represents Earth's last chance for survival the Powers That Be would not risk the operation to a single dude and a squad of soldiers. *shrugs*
*conspiracy theory*
Unless that dude is the "government"...like a shadow government ruled by 'fear' that "they" will come. And the squad of soldiers is the best of the best with him that he trusts.
Of course he leaves at least one or two peeps back on the 'real Earth' that he trusts as well as a precautionary measure.

Quote:Yeah, after seeing a bunch of photos with various characters wearing them, I started to lean towards that conclusions. There was even a wallpaper released that has The Doctor wearing one.
Yeah maybe with only one eye seeing the Silence they can't control you...but if you see them with two eyes, then you do get controlled by them!
This is why you never see them controlling pirates! -

Quote:I personally would do it where the more you do something you get better at it, or based on story lines.
Others have said this but I do agree with the above for the most part.
Back at my first job; my boss and I used to play AC2 (okay my boss didn't have much time to play an MMO and was a little "oh new shiny game" distraction syndrome...but...) and we talked about how you/we could do things differently.
One was the 'obvious', "the more you use x the better at it you are."
I like that; however, if I want to change from an archer, let's say, to a melee fighter...well now my gear (what I can hold/use) for melee is pathetic compared to my bow/ranged gear...so now I can't survive long enough to get xp for/in "melee" and get a better sword/dagger/etc...
Unless I wanted to go down to "low lvl/newbie" zones and then...well, that's no fun either.
I haven't read all the posts here but it will be interesting to see future MMOs and how they handle it.
Maybe have every mob be like an "event mob" in CoH...where they are always the same lvl as you are; no matter if you are lvl 20 or 50. That way, as someone mentioned before, no matter what, 2 stabs of a dagger (wrench) or 2 arrows/gun shots can kill a mob. But the higher you go/the more you use melee (or range) the better at it you get.
Edit:
I also think that future MMOs "need" to have wholesale respecs that can be done anywhere and anytime for free (or at least very, very cheaply).
Again, I'll talk about a certain FPS "MMO" that went out of business a few years ago...loved the game; there were levels like normal MMOs and with each level you got a certain amount of points to spend on skills/powers. I think there were 3 "classes" per each "AT"...if you were a ranged toon, you could be a "sniper", "engineer" or...uh...something else (forgot :P).
I liked being a sniper but if I wanted to be an engineer (pet/support class) then I'd have to start over (I think there was a way to respec toons but to be honest I don't remember).
Being able to respec 'on the fly' would be so nice in certain games....but...we'll see -

Somethings though I am not digging... the manufactured teenage angst. The fact that they just (SPOILERS) HAD to focus on a family that NEEDED to break the population control law for the entire planet (they don't tie tubes in the future / vasectomies if its that much a "extinction level" legality?) Ofcourse I suppose they needed to have the third child as the "awww isn't she cute and adventurous" factor. I'm hoping they focus on high adventure and not high drama and learned from V "the emo angstastic teen drama subplot DESTROYS good sci-fi"
I just watched some of the pilot on hulu.com (only up to the first commercial break; right after all are on Terra Nova and they bring their 3rd kid from the bag)...but I totally agree...
Why is the "Good guy" a "bad guy" (breaking the law/etc)? Meh...wasn't really interested from the previews that I saw (fake dinosaurs doesn't make me want to see it) so....won't be watching this one... -
Yes that should work (or something similar)...but if you do use a macro like that, just be ware that sometimes you may select a dead mob that isn't near the other mobs.

I'll have to agree with all the others, combining the AT forums into sections wouldn't be easier to follow.
Leave that as-is I say. -
Quote:Well. We know the Doctor was unconscious for a bit in this episode.
We're given to believe that the Cyberman that knocked him out apparently left him there instead of taking him prisoner or killing him. Which given their past history would be a stupid thing to do - the Doctor now knows you're there, he's helpless before you, and you just let him go?
What if he wasn't just left there? What if something happened, and he just ended up there afterward?
-k
I could see something like that happening...maybe the Cybermen created a life-like "Doctor" :P
*shrugs*
But something could have happened...it would make no sense for the Cybermen to just leave the Doctor there.
Edit:
The only thing I really didn't care for too much in this episode was Craig not knowing things...like the Cybermen/etc...
I mean, The Doctor did give him all of the Doctor's info the last time they met....is it a short term memory thing or ? -
Woo, I finally get to comment on a new episode the day of!
Great episode...see, sooo glad Cybermen were just a "filler" episode...ugh...that villain is just so "meh" to me...
I really liked the episode...still have issues with the music/talkingtoofastthatIcan'tunderstandwhatTheDoctor is saying sometimes though...
In the previews for the next/final show...it does seem that there may be a lot of time traveling in it...I think I saw Winston Churchill in it (or was it a diff. fat guy in a tuxedo/suit shooting something?)....dinosaurs...hmmm... -
So finally watched the episode tonight. Good episode; and you just knew that Beckett knew/remembered everything...
It will be interesting to see how things go. -
Quote:Requiring more healing is one thing because there are a wide range of ATs that can bring healing to the league. That's vastly different than requiring more confuse protection, because that's not nearly as prevalent as healing, and the ATs that do have it only provide minor amounts, not nearly enough to mitigate AoH's confuse.
Too often, now, I see people adding "must have Clarion" to their Underground LFM messages. The problem I have with this is carrying more Clarions isn't really a good solution, not only because of the fact that they'd need to be stacked multiple times to be effective (as previously mentioned by Vanden) but also because these current incarnate trials are supposed to be designed for any level 50 who has simply passed the initial incarnate Ouro arc to participate in.
To be honest, I expect later raids to end up having official level and incarnate shift requirements as new pools are unlocked (ie. Uber Next Raid [Must be at least +2 to join]), just because there's no way they're going to be able to keep giving us new extremely super powers without upping the difficulty. However, since they didn't open up any new incarnate pools, and since Underground can unlock everything, the only thing I can take away from it is that it's supposed to be on par with the other three, yet the mechanics aren't. By making this particular mechanic such that Clarion is the perceived solution, it's penalizing newer 50s and lower level incarnates.
TL;DR: AoH's confuse should be able to be acceptably mitigated by stacking AT-based and/or pool based confuse protection rather than needing both of those and Clarion or a tray full of Break Frees. In Keyes, if you fail because of healing, add some more healing ATs. If you fail at AoH's confuse... you can't really add more anti-confuse ATs and expect a better result.
I agree completely that UG should be the last 'open to all' Incarnate trials...the later ones should have a "need to be Incarnate +2/+3 to do this". Like you said it is harder to get confuse protection.
The only thing you can do is stack up on BFs/Emerges/etc...
I will say one the UG trial I was on with my DA/DM tanker, I don't think we had a lot of support (buffs/debuffs) in the league. I know we had a Time Manip. person and 1 Emp. but...beyond that...no idea if we had any other debuffs/buffs.
It was mainly Blasters/melee types....which can be fine for most of the other trials but UG...yeah; I'd say might need some debuffs/buffs
I know that was one of the questions the devs were asking, "is this too difficult for regular lvl 50s with no incarnate powers?" before it was released to the live servers.
Most people thought it was fine but, to be honest, I don't remember if that was before or after the AoH actually got his powers (in beta he had 0 powers or...they just weren't working properly).
As others have said, if you're attacking the AoH from behind, you shouldn't get hit with his AoEs/cones...keeping the taunter alive may be tricky though.
It'd be interesting to see if a full balanced league of "Just been incarnatized" 50s could do the trial or not. -
Quote:Heck if they just added a way to specifically turn off the flashy/fiery effects of both Hasten and Super Speed (via something like Null the Gull) they'd probably satisfy roughly 95% of the people who want "power customization" for power pools
To be honest, I'd go for that. -
Quote:Okay, lemme put my 2 inf in on this one...
Do you guys have a 50 with all the incarnate stuff unlocked?
Let's say, for the sake of this post, you do.
Now, go to the tailor.
Go to the left and start scrolling...
I'll wait.
Do you see all the choices you have for the judgements? For Lore? For Destiny? Now, the coding, as I understand it, for the color customization is done to mimic THAT, but for the APP and PPP sets.
Still with me?
NOW, imagine you have EVERY patron pool...
Not that large an addition, right? Just 4 sets...
But wait, each AT gets different facets of the PPPs. How do you differentiate on the UI?
NOW, add the APPs... Each of them is different for each AT, AND some have access to certain things that others do not. (Pyre and Fire are different, after all).
So, let us go back to that scrolling bar on the left side at the tailor again...
Can you imagine how long it is now?
Admittedly, the pool powers aren't that many and varied, and they work the same for everyone, so... No real excuse for Leaping/Flight/Maneuvers etc...
But, Leviathan/Soul/Mu/Mace/Pyre/Body/etc., etc...
THAT will take some time and apparently there are other things the bosses wanna do first.
Not saying it is right, or fair, or even a good idea, just trying to help some folks wrap their noggins around the undertaking that APP/PPP customization would be.
Pfft; I'm one of those "don't care if it's ugly, as long as it's functional" people....so list all powers available to the toon...I don't care, I just want to change the color of Hasten/Super Speed (or turn off the effects from them)!
