    This.

But I was hoping for some enhancement storage increases on sale this weekend

Ah well, more points to save up I guess.
  2. I'm all for increasing the -max hp debuff on AVs/Monsters/GMs
  3. I haven't had any issues with paragon points (except maybe the first month when everyone had issues)...

But the Paragon Rewards points/tokens I haven't received one of those since Freedom went live.

I had 39 (I think 39) when Freedom went live; I spent 3 on the Celestial Armor Tier 9 VIP stuff; then 1 on the Signature Summon; have 1 token left and still have 1 token left.

I put in a support ticket and they basically said that due to an error in the system, any accounts that were made before CoH went live (4/28/2004) were credited 1 extra token more than they should have...and now that the error is fixed I should be receiving a token next month.

I could copy and paste what they said but...*shrugs*

Basically some error with "old" accounts (that were made before CoH went live; which mine was), it's been fixed and everything should be fine come December.

Defeating critters in Dark Astoria, whether street sweeping or the critters inside DA missions, will give you both Physical and Psychic Incarnate XP, and chances to get threads on each defeat. Completing the one-off Repeatable Missions available in the zone will allow you to gain Threads. Completing the Incarnate Story arcs will allow you to obtain Incarnate Components, Incarnate Merits, or Threads, with some amount of time-gating per reward per arc. Incarnate Story arcs can also be flashbacked via Ouroboros, allowing you to repeat them at your own pace (and allowing you to re-earn rewards after your cooldown on that choice has elapsed).

I hope that this helps shed some light on the great extent to which solo and small team progress through the Incarnate system will be possible in Death Incarnate.
    Sounds good!

Now about that test....turn the clocks forward....it's time to test!

Yeah, I know. But as Electric-Knight said, it's not the same as watching it live.

I haven't watch any of the recorded streams. I just can't do it. No idea why, but the will isn't there. I hope to make an exception for this one, however.

Me want honeyco... ALL THE DETAILS!
As others have said...it's not quite the same as watching it live....notes are faster for me so that I can go play coh faster!
  6. Aww, nice write-up

Reading it (among others) and seeing pics; I'd like to go....but...need some reason beyond "meet the devs"....if only I knew a friend in that area and could hang out with him/her

Have a friend from High School but she lives in San Diego....a bit south of San Fran. heh.
  7. Well next year will most likely be out of the question for me anyways...going to have double-jaw surgery sometime next year (Feb./March?) and have to take at least 14 days off of work for that...so there goes the vacation days I'm saving up

To be honest though, I don't think I'd fly and stay a night (or two) just to go to something like this. Sure it'd be neat to meet the devs (and Zwill/Avatea/etc!) but...it's not like I'd have any important questions besides, "When will we be able to color customize Hasten and/or Super Speed?!"

    *shrugs*
  8. I'll be awaiting VK's notes about this since I'll be at work again heh

I look forward to the powerpoints/info!

I would too, however, I think the devs said that the engine can't support the whole "pull mobs to a certain spot"...they'd love to do it; but as of right now they don't think it can work.

    Edit:

    I could be wrong though...
  10. 2 'big issues' with Gravity the way I see it:

1.) Animation/activation times. You see this with Wormhole, Propel and to some extent the ST and AoE Holds.

2.) Powers are out of sequence. Usually by lvl 18 the Controller primary has one of their main "staples"...either an AoE hold, AoE stun, or something similar to hold them until lvls 26 and 32 when they get their "best" powers. Gravity gets their "best" powers at lvl 26 and 32...lvl 18 is Dimension Shift which...I'd guess, 95% of the user base doesn't take.

My thoughts on 'fixing Gravity' would be:

1.) Reduce the animation/activation times for Propel and Wormhole specifically.

2.) Replace Dimension Shift with some other power. I propose an AoE Lift type of power...but maybe an AoE Propel? I don't know...something.

3.) Depending on what (if any) power is swapped out with Dimension Shift; swap that power with Wormhole. So that Wormhole is taken at lvl 18 and that power is at lvl 26.

Overall Gravity is okay/can be fun but it really doesn't get "controllery" until lvl 32 when you get the Singularity pet. It's a great pet!

    Edit:

Oops, also like Silencer7 said, Gravity doesn't get its ST hold until lvl 4; whereas, other control sets get it at lvl 1/2.

Yeah it all looks good. The "weak MoG" is for your entire team (unless Synapse typed it wrong which is possible)...which is nice. Kind of like Mind Link.

I like Soul Absorption...+hp and +end recovery? yes please!

Perfect for Controllers that are in melee range a lot (like a Kinetics secondary toon would be or Fire Control primary/etc).

    Edit:

I can definitely see the Haunt power being used every other spawn. I mean...I guess it depends on how much HP the pet(s) have. They can die so there's no need to make it a really long rchg power like Phantom Army but don't want it too short to have multiples out.

    Can't wait for beta!

I'll give out the information that was given in the power point here. We talked about 8 of the 9 powers.

Tier 1: Shadowy Binds (Ranged, Moderate DoT(Negative), Foe Immobilize, -To Hit, -Fly)
Tier 2: Dark Grasp (Ranged, Moderate DMG(Negative), Foe Hold, -To Hit)
Tier 3: Living Shadows Ranged (Cone), Minor DoT(Negative), Foe Immobilize, -To Hit, -Fly
Tier 4: Possess (Ranged, Target Confuse)
Tier 5: Fearsome Stare (Ranged (Cone), Foe Fear, -To Hit)
Tier 6: Heart of Darkness (PBAoE, Foe Disorient, -To Hit, Minor DoT(Negative))
Tier 7: Haunt (Foe Targeted, Summon Shades)
Tier 8: Shadow Field (Target (Location AoE), Foe Hold, -To Hit)
Tier 9: ??? (ZOMG! What could it be?)

At the powers panel, we didn't reveal the Tier 9 power. That will be revealed at a later date, so stay tuned. One thing to note, as Tunnel Rat mentioned, the tentacles have been replaced with more of an inky shadowy feel. Some bits of info we gave out:

Possess: This power darkens the target and gives them spooky glowing eyes and makes them confused.
Haunt: This power effectively places a taunt aura on your target and spawns two Shades. These dark entities alternate between a punch attack and a terrorize attack. The Shades will continue to beat on their target until either they are killed or their target is defeated. Once their target is defeated, they will move about attacking other targets at random. Their damage is pretty decent, and this power offers a fair amount of control. They are uncontrollable like all other Controller/Dominator pets.
Is that Confuse just a Single Target Confuse or is it like Seeds of Confusion (a cone/aoe Confuse)?

    Darkness Affinity
This power is a proliferated version of Dark Miasma for Controllers. You're likely thinking "why the name change?" Well, we pulled out Fearsome Stare and Petrifying Gaze because: a) Fearsome Stare really belongs in Darkness Control and b) Petrifying Gaze is pretty redundant when paired with Darkness Control as its effectively a copy of Dark Grasp, but without the damage. I felt this necessitated a name change.

In their places we added Fade and Soul Absorption:

Fade is a short duration, long recharge, high defense boost to your entire team. It's intended to prevent team mates from being defeated when they're low on health. This will hopefully give you enough time to fire off a Twilight Grasp to heal them. Internally, I've heard it compared to "a weaker Moment of Glory for your team". I think that's fairly accurate.

Soul Absorption is a handy power that grants nearby team mates regeneration and recovery for each nearby defeated foe. This can spell a massive boost to regeneration and recovery with enough valid targets. Think Stygian Circle for your whole team, but instead of +hp/+end you get +regen/+recovery.
Sounds really nice Will definitely look forward to playing with it!

    Dark Assault
This power is a mix of Dark Melee and Dark Blast. You've got a fun mix of powers in there. I think Dominators will enjoy the set. It offers a nice mix of damage, control and survivability. It also features a new power called Gather Shadows. This is effectively a combo of Build Up and Power Boost. You lose your +to hit and have reduced effectiveness of the +damage and +effects, but you get both. It's a trade-off to be sure. I look forward to player feedback on this.

As always everything mentioned above is subject to change in beta. I'll be having my eyes glued to the forums when this hits the training room. For those of you who made it to the Pummit, it was great to mingle with you all.

    Regards,
    Synapse
Thanks again Synapse! All of the powersets/powers that you have listed sound like fun!

    Hooray! More powersets!

    Edit:

Man, it'd be sweet to a "take your pick of all powers and make a toon"....I'd take Soul Absorption + Fulcrum Shift = ftw! hahah mmm...+hp/+end
  13. Good luck to you!

The last two runs of the UG that I've led the past 2 Saturdays; we did the UG in basically right at 1 hour (give or take a few mins of waiting/etc). Was quite surprised by the two times actually....and it's not like we were "stacked" either.

    Edit:

Wish I could be there to help ya heh.

    Oooh, thanks for the links/info!

So looking forward to Staff Fighting....was one of the sets I've been waiting for, for a long time

    Kilik ftw!
  19. Thanks to all for the info.

Will be interesting to see how it works out!

    So what you're saying is....

Synapse is your inside source and he was the one that leaked the staff fighting powerset video a month or two ago!

    *I'm done...back to the stalker changes...sorry!*
  23. Heh, no my aunt wouldn't touch games like these...

She's 60 or so years old so the 'hardest' (or most intense) games she plays are the random cubic/bubble-pop type flash games...

She just likes to be "annoying" and ask a lot of questions

And I'm somewhat joking but...not really.

I said it because he started the "how to end LOLstalkers mentality" thread a week (?) ago.

From what I saw there was nothing mentioned about any stalker changes and then that thread...just seems too co-incidental to me

    Not that it matters.
  25. Looks good; I guess EvilGeko does work for the devs (or is just in a super-secret beta!)
