Otherwise what else is a person suppose to think?

Just jumping into this conversation again, but I would say to the devs, "get rid of the Bug Hunter badge."

I can see their intent with it (hey, submit a big enough bug/enough bugs and you can show it off if you want to!) but...as others have said numerous times, it just seems like you get it at the "whim" of a dev.

I remember reading an article (post?) from Positron (I think it was him ) that said, "yeah we (I?) have given it to some that originally we weren't going to give it to but they asked for it, and then other times when they asked for it after submitted x bug they didn't get it because they asked for it."

    o_O

Maybe I'm totally wrong (the article/post was a good 3-4 years ago I think; and if I'm wrong then I apologize (once I get the Bug Hunter badge that is )) but...just seems like you have to be friends with the devs to get it.

Just not the best thing I think for the whole community. Either that or set an actual counter.

After x amount of bugs submitted (and they actually have to be bugs so that someone can't just type in /bug ahhaahah 50 times and get the badge) you get the badge.

Yes typo bugs/errors aren't "game breaking" like some of the other exploits that have been patched but they are still bugs/something that needs fixed (not saying all my /bugs are typo reports though ).

    Edit:

And I've been in quite a few closed betas but no Bug Hunter badge yet

The notion of interaction has rapidly declined over the last 18 months or so. We're funnelled down a tunnel.
    I never understood this argument.

Throughout this whole game we have never had a choice (no MMO offers you a real choice as far as I know).

I can't start a story arc, let's say the A Hero's Hero one, and at the end, go up to Tyrant and say, "I want in...I'll join you!, let's kill Statesman!"

We have never had a choice; we always were "following a story."

    Quote:
Even when offered "choice" it's generally the option between "Knock him out" or "Break his neck" - both of which are pretty ridiculous....

At least we have a choice now on how to deal with certain mobs/enemies in the game in the story

I really like the choices that we get.

In the new villain arc(s), one of the missions you see a helpless mob on the ground; you click on him and you have a choice to let him die or save him. If you save him, wow!, he helps you out in a later mission!

I <3 that! Definitely needs more of stuff like that I think.

  5. My boss said he didn't like the movie at all (or at least not as much as he thought he would have).

He's a big action guy (loves Fast & the Furious type of movies which I don't care for) and he said that this newest MI does not have a lot of action in it.

He said there was 1 or 2 fights with the "good girl" against another enemy, then there was the stunt of Tom Cruise on that tall building but that was it he said.

Oh and he said Tom had one fight scene (maybe 2) himself.

Truth or is that about it?

Not that I was going to see MI:GP but wouldn't mind seeing it from netflix/etc....

Yeah my boss at work watched the movie before I did and said he enjoyed it more than the 1st movie because it was more of an "action movie" compared to the 1st (and he's a very action oriented person ).

He tried not to spoil anything for me but said it wasn't as much of a "wonder how he did x, who did y" type of mystery...it was more of a, "I'm doing x, stop me if you can!" type of movie.

Which I agree with to a point, there was still some mystery/solving to do but not as much as the 1st one I think.

    Still a great movie....casting, etc...

RDJ definitely can carry a role...Jude Law works well with RDJ in these movies.

Even at tier 9 MVP my monthly allotment of points doesn't make me feel like I can buy much, and when I do, I think I've been ripped off. I just bought the New Year's Pack, but it doesn't say what to type to use the emotes, without that bit of information it's rather useless.

I unfortunately feel like the VIP membership doesn't have much value, since they want us to buy most things anyway. Probably cheaper to just switch to a free account. . .

They are in the announcement thread: ;fireworkbloow ;fireworkrocket and ;fireworksparkle

I do agree that there is no "you bought this, this is how you use it, or where they can be found at."

And I just lost a lot of points today....

I bought the New Year's Pack, then bought TW...an sgmate talked me into buying TW....so...now I'm down to like 300 or 400 points
  8. So I just watched this with my dad today and we both agreed it was a great movie.

I think just as good or better than the first one.

Only two minor quibbles I had with this one....

Read below if you want to read my quibbles (SPOILERS below!)

    SPOILERS BELOW!!!

I was surprised that they killed off Sherlock's "love interest" (forgot her name )...I thought Sherlock would have saved her somehow.

And then they never showed Sherlock or Holmes getting the "2nd in command" guy (the hired gun/sniper guy).

    *shrugs*

    Very minor but they're there
  9. Only thing that I disagreed with is the Slow Combat.

Maybe up to lvl 10 or 14...but after that, I don't see it...especially now with inherent Stamina.

I hate WoW's combat...click on a spell...watch it "activate" for 5 seconds and hope it goes off before you get hit and get "interrupted."

To me, it'd be liking using CoH's snipe powers/activation for every power....ugh

Avengers (have some reservations about it, but it's the Avengers!)
The Dark Knight Rises (reservations about Bane, but Nolan has done great so far)
The Hobbit (goosebumps from the song in the trailer)
    Brave (looks great)

    ....

I'll have to say "this" to the above.

I have some small hesitations about the Avengers and TDKR but...overall I want to see 'em.

The Hobbit is (should be) awesome...and Brave...well it's Pixar and Pixar can do no wrong (except for "Jumping the shark" by making Cars 2 ).

  13. So I watched it with my dad last night and we both enjoyed it.

Sure it was a bit 'light' but all-in-all I liked it

I did LOL a few times.

Also liked the bit at the end with Rory, Amy and the Doctor.

    Be careful out there.

Dang, I'm getting old...or she's taken down the stuff; I was curious if I could do the same but I was not...heh..

    Edit:

Oh and I'd have to agree, to a point, with PleaseRecycle. I'm usually always at the default "not seeking" but...usually I will team with almost anyone. So a nice random tell won't always be shot down.

I think if "everyone" (or at least more people) used that flag system you might have a point Forbin...but I'm guessing most don't even know it exists; let alone touch it.

    I could be wrong though
  15. While we can agree to disagree on the awesomeness of StJ; love the set myself.

    Staff looks just as awesome.

Right now I have like 1,330 points...only thing I buy are powersets and the occasional costume piece/set (or aura).

I am with you in some regards as far as powersets go though...I bought Beam Rifle but...after it (and still am a bit) I have a bit of buyer's remorse...just don't care for BR that much.

That's why I'm not buying TW either...sure I'd like the set but...don't want to pay 800 points for it...maybe when it goes on sale or something.

Only thing I'm constantly waiting to go on sale is the extra enhancement slot storage increases. I thought I would have bought them as soon as Freedom launched but...yikes...not at those prices.

    Edit:

Maybe there needs to be some sort of "trial period."

Where you can try something (let's say the extra enhancement slot storage) and after x days (a month?) it stops being active and you either have to pay for it or live without it.

That way it would possibly entice people to try things and then once they get "hooked"...well, cha-ching, money for Paragon

Cause like you said (and I agree with somewhat), us long time vets have been used to playing this game with only 10 enhancement slots...if somehow we had 20 or 30 slots and then suddenly that trial period ended...wow...now we want to buy it because we're used to having 20 or 30 slots. *shrugs*

Either that, or make a very special badge called "Idiot", displayed in size 70 font, that cannot be unequipped.

I would suggest that you don't do that....because....

Though I guess badgers would still try and get it, so that may actually be a horrible idea.

    Oh you covered that already....

    Never mind, move along!

*yes I would do that to get the badges....mmm shiny badges*
  17. Now I haven't been online at nights (mainly due to work/rl stuff) but I will agree with what Ukase/FCM have said already.

The lvl 50 TFs/SFs are the ones that give you the components needed to craft the powers/abilities in the Alpha slot.

That means, ITFs, LGTFs, STF, LRSF, Khan and Barracuda (as well as the MSRs in RWZ) all give a specific component.

So if you can get an ITF going, try the others; never know

    Edit:

Oh and congrats on the 50!

Also you can look at this site below:

    http://goingrogue.na.cityofheroes.co...lpha-slot.html

At the bottom of the page it shows what TF/SF gives which component (as well as the alpha slot itself)....although it's old since it still has only the first 4 Alpha abilities/powers there but you get the idea.

    This one guy...

He sent the tell asking if he could join my team, with an invite appearing as soon as I got the tell. I declined the invite and told them I wasn't on a team.
They sent another invite and replied with "U could be with me."

I declined the invite and explained that I appreciated the offer but wasn't really doing much, had laundry going etc.

10 minutes later I get another invite popup and tell from them. I'm guessing they either didn't realize they'd already talked to me (going down the list) or were trolling.

I replied with "Still soloing "
They send yet another invite and at this piont I just accept it. I'm a bit more frustrated than I should be so I don't say anything in Team. I was in the process of upgrading enhancements so I just kept doing what I was doing. A few minutes later he appears in the shop. I compliment him on his concept and notice that he has the 3yr vet badge. I again suggest that he look for a real team as I wasn't interested in inviting anyone and give him a brb so I could check on laundry.

I got distacted by a phone call and didn't return to the game for 10 minutes or so.
    When I did...
He'd invited a full team, then proceeded to set a mission and run like normal. This is when things got trollish.

After seeing the full team window my eyes widened a bit and then I hear the tell chime. It's one of the team members chiding me for holding them up.

I scroll up and read the chatlines from the team. One of the team members asks me if I'm coming. Without reply obviously. Then the leader, the guy that begged to join me, says lets just go. I keep reading.
After a few minutes of what I assume is mission sweeping on their part another member inquires about my status. At this point you'd expect the leader to clue his new team in and kick me. Instead he goes on a tirade about griefers like me ruining the game for everyone. That I spammed the stuffing out of him for an invite and then pull a stunt like this. I've heard the tell chime 2 more times while reading...
Looking over the tells, one is from a random team member calling me something I can't print here. The other is from the leader.

It simply reads... "So, ready to team yet?"

    >.<

Oy! Every since then, I send a single reply that I'm soloing and then ignore every subsequent request. Some people get their jollies anyway they can.

    Haha, wow...that's pretty epic...

Me, I'd be the one copying and pasting the "conversation" between the two of us back to the whole team for the lulz of it.

    Mmmm... lulz.
