    Adamastor Ritual

It is a recipe in the Invention category.

It drops from any mob I think (possibly mobs above lvl 20?)...

Basically it takes 250 influence to craft I think and it gives you a temp power that you can use to "summon" the GM Adamastor.

He'll be spawned near the "old" Talos/DA entrance/exit (in Talos, bottom right hand corner).

Only 1 GM of Adamastor can be out/summoned at once....

If you use the power and the GM is already out, it shouldn't erase the power.

    Edit:

Dang it DSL, you beat me

    Just kidding

I think the max # of people for the iTrial is 16 so...if you don't get in the first round I can run it again

Yes there was one mission at the end of each of the hero/villain story content that said, "go join a DD trial and win!" (basically)

If you had that mission and completed the DD itrial; you got a badge....they removed that badge/mission.

The DD itrial is like any other itrial; just join up via lfg/league

Correct; you do NOT need to do all of the arcs to do the new DD iTrial.
  6. I'll be up for whatever...only 2 toons that aren't lvl 50 so far. My lvl 39 Time/BR Def. and my lvl 25 Ice/TW Tanker (Villain though).

I'm not sure if I want to make a new toon even with Dark control/affinity/assault sets...none of those sets really appeal to me.

If Staff Fighting comes out before Double XP weekend though.... ^_^

Level shifts are not an indicator of expertise. They are an indicator that that incarnate has been in a lot of itrials - nothing more, nothing less.

Notice I didn't say good = +3s...or at least I wasn't trying to say that...

Meant to say +3s are helpful since mobs are lvl 54+2/+3.

I would "love" to see an all lvl 50 (no incarnate shifts) full league try to do the DD itrial. To be honest, I think it can be done but...I don't know. If I remember correctly there's no time limit (for final phase at least) so if you can get by the SoM phase, then you could win possibly.

Even with the best of my friends/teammates at +0, I think it'd be very hard to do the DD trial because of the lvl difference of mobs.

In beta I was on a team of 8 that tried to do the itrial by ourselves (8 is the min. needed to start). We had 6 that were +3 and 1 that was +1 or 2 and the other was just lvl 50.

We got to the SoM part but died/failed due to time restraints. We couldn't out-damage the SoM's regen.

Although we finally started to wittle him down but by the time we failed/timer ran out we had the SoM down to like 25 or 40/100 (forgot now).

So somewhat like the MoM trial, sure +0s, +1s are welcome (and I usually invite anyone), that lvl difference is huge when there is time involved (like the last phases of MoM).

    Edit:

Yes I know what you are saying/implying, but I would have thought you would know that I can/will invite anyone regardless of lvl shifts.
  8. Hello!

So Issue 22 is being released tomorrow and with that comes the new DD iTrial.

    Strategy:

    Tank-n-spank

No seriously, it's really easy (as long as most of the league is +2 or +3 since mobs are lvl 54+2 and +3). Nothing complicated. Hardest thing is at the end when fighting DD, there are little glowing green blobs in the room that get summoned every now and then.

They are called Lifegiving Essences...defeat them before DD "sucks them up" and heals herself...beyond that, nothing hard, no tricks.

    Quick summary:

Phase 1: Make your way to each of the 4 "spires" and defeat the spires. Mobs have to be cleared away/defeated from the spires then the spires can be blown up.

Badge: Defeat all 4 spires within 1 min. of each other. Nothing too hard here, could just have the league take down all mobs and then split up and defeat spires...

Phase 2: Free the captured heroes. It says in the trial description that certain heroes give certain buffs to both the Sentinel of Mot and DD (key for certain badges) but the runs in beta that I've been a part of, never saw a huge buff so...just free 4 heroes.

Phase 3: Defeat Sentinel of Mot. Nothing hard, again tank-n-spank. There are some special attacks that the SoM does but...to be honest, no idea what they do beyond some minor damage, there is no "haha, you dieded in one hit" attack that he does.

The SoM does summon ambushes to him but...again, if most of the league is +3 and with enough buff/debuff/etc...everything is pretty smooth.

Phase 4: Go inside of Mot and withstand 3 mins of ambushes. Self-explanatory.

Phase 5: Defeat DD. Again this is where defeating the Lifegiving Essences comes in handy/becomes key. Also when people die here it gives DD (and the other 2 heroes that are with her still) a buff (to what I'm not sure...I forgot ).

The Essences don't attack, they look like green hami mitos...but a bit smaller. I think a total of like 6 spawn throughout the room.

You can defeat the 2 heroes that are with DD to make things easier or just kill DD and get a badge for keeping the other 2 heroes 'alive'.

So after work tomorrow; I'll be leading at least 1 run of the new itrial; who wants in? I'll be starting it around 10:40/10:45pm EST (unless I get off work early for some reason).

    Edit:

Oh and on a "good" team (with mostly +3s) the new itrial takes about 20-30 mins. It gives pretty good iXP and with it being a fast run, could be done just as fast/easily as a Lam/BAF I think.

Bear Nuts Comic. Pretty funny story about a group of bears inna zoo.

hehe, my friend got me into that comic years and years ago.

But then both him and I got sick of it because he just kept drawing it out (the whole relationship, not a relationship, gee I don't know who I like more, I like her, but I don't, but now I do...)...ugh...can only take so much of that. I haven't looked at it for like 3-4 years....

    But for me:

xkcd as others have already posted

As you say, we already have the prequels, we already know these characters. In fact I believe they recognized that an Avengers movie *couldn't* be made without all these prequels, specifically because we needed to get over the "origin of" parts of all the characters because it would slow things down too much.

The trailer alone shows a confrontation between Loki and Stark, and Loki and Fury, and I think its going to be Loki that becomes the linchpin for the plot: it will ultimately be each of those characters having to face Loki, not just a big shootout.

"How desperate you are that you that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?" That suggests to me that Loki has by then become familiar in some way with all of the Avengers. Fury is the one that brings them together, Loki will be the one that tries to rip them apart. That dynamic seems exactly up Whedon's alley.

Couldn't agree more! I really enjoyed Serenity/Firefly and with all of those "characters" he still made each one an individual.

Not quite the same as a super-hero movie but still, I like what Arcana suggested about Loki "visiting" each of the Avengers trying to tear them apart...

Which of course brings them together in some way

    Edit:

Thinking about it, it may go something like this:

Loki makes a deal with x army/other evil dude and they all attack Earth. This of course shows Fury that even SHIELD by itself can't overcome the enemy threat. So he calls in all the supers.

Once Loki knows this, he then goes to each 'super' individually and sees why they were chosen/to "fight it out" with them as a "you aren't even good enough to try to stop me" but then of course somehow they beat him (in whatever fashion that may come in as).

Then they all rally together and beat all the armies of the other bad guy/smack Loki down.

Kind of like the episode of Teen Titans when the "real Teen Titans" were gone and the "Titans East" were subbing in for the "real" Teen Titans and Control Freak sets up "tests" of his own for each of the "Titans East" and then at the end he realizes, "oh they are actually good super-heroes too!"

*just with a bit more KABLLOOOEY! action in it *

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii... but I haven't even turned it on since beating Skyward Sword, and prior to that, New Super Mario Bros (when it first launched in 2009).

As for not liking "multiplayer," I generally don't like competitive multiplayer games either, but I have a great time playing co-op games on Xbox Live with my friends. I certainly don't want to jump on a Halo deathmatch with a bunch of trash-talking preteens, either.

Oh I play "kiddie" games and what not but...unfortunately it seems like most developers are just developing "gimmicky" games for the wii instead of games that may or may not use the "gimmicks" of motion control.

I just remember being "sold" on the Wii when Reggie Fils-Anime (?) was speaking and touting that the Wii will ship with a new Mario, Zelda, Metroid and a new title called H.A.M.M.E.R.

The Hammer game looked sweet, everything else looked good...pre-ordered the Wii (yes, yes, don't believe in marketing but...they did their job and sold me on it ) and "oh, oops, schedule delays...we couldn't ship out anything we promised on...except a Gamecube remake of Zelda!"

And I don't particularly like buying Wii (console in general) games...I buy them, beat the single player and then never touch them again (for the most part). For example, I bought New Super Paper Mario Bros (? whatever it was called, the newest paper mario one).

Was it a fun game?! Yep! Did I finish it in like 16 hours and then never touch it again? Yes. After I beat it (no I didn't get 100% completion rate but I don't care about that since it doesn't really "unlock" anything new...not counting "playing as Luigi!") I just returned it to Gamestop for like 5 bucks

The only game(s) I usually buy would be the Madden NFL franchise games but to be honest, I stopped buying them with Madden '09 (08?)...

I figured it was the last "real" game when the EA devs actually tried to make the Wii graphics look good but now the new Madden games are all cartoony....blech. Not even trying anymore EA? Fine, no money from me. Plus the amount of bugs in the game (even in 09) that weren't fixed from 08 was ridiculous.

    Sorry now I'm ranting a bit...I'll stop

Sorry just having fun at my expense...I think I'm "done" with consoles...no friends to play games with locally (my friends are all married and/or have kids in addition to that...or just don't play games like I do) and usually don't care for multiplayer online..."party games" is what is left of the Wii it seems...

Haven't purchased a Wii game since the Metroid trilogy combo pack (and that technically wasn't a new game )....still haven't finished Metroid 2 yet either...

    Kinetic powers?

    Yes and no.

There is Telekinesis in the Mind Control (Controller and Dominator primary) which holds the foe (and any foes around them) and literally repels/pushes them back.

Kinetic wise, there is the Kinetics power set as a Defender primary and, I'm biased here since my main is a Kin/Rad Def, but it's awesome There's no "moving things with my brain/powers" but it's mainly just a great debuff/buff set.

There's also Kinetic Melee (for Scrappers, Tankers, Brutes and Stalkers)...but that set is an all punchy-type set...

    Edit:

You may also like the Gravity control power set (Controller and Dominator primary). The single target hold has the animation that you're levitating/holding the enemy in the air.

If you're talking about you, yourself as a toon, levitating, there's always Hover in the power pools.

Wasn't Melissa already at the helm once already for a while? Welcome back to the wheel!

i'm now imagining City of Heroes as a wheeled battleship rolling across the Northwestern prairies making pirate sorties before returning to its lair in the Northern wastes.
