Okay so I just re-watched parts of the mmorpg video.
Black Swan's battle:
Started: ~29:36
Ended: ~34:47
Total time: ~5 mins+
Tyrant's Battle:
Started: ~36:00
Ended: ~40:17
Total time: ~4 mins.
So...Black Swan is better/more powerful than Tyrant -
Quote:How do you know the option in the character creator has been blocked to make Praetorian toons? The point is that once I23 hits live, you can't, ever, make a new Praetorian character because the whole of Praetoria is no longer there
If it is disabled/blocked then you're correct (but can RP around it too)...if that option is still there; you can still RP a toon from Praet. -
-
Quote:Following the story, if we understand it right, Cole destroyed the entirety of the Praetoria as a planet, killed every single living being in it in order to gain its power and become a well unto himself. There is nothing else left, no survivors, no continuation. Everyone's dead, Dave. And then he dies, Praetoria becomes a dead world full of ruins to perhaps only salvage from, nothing more.
So that 1 nuke killed the Praet. Hamidon? If so, why didn't he do that before (after the fences were up)?
Why can't you RP that your toon was in the bubble that Dominatrix/AB put up before the nuke?
If all else fails, "it's magic that I survived!" ta-da! -
Quote:I have no idea if you're crazy or not, but if it was a mistake, it was a frequently repeated mistake: mmorpg.com's narrator kept saying that beta was going to open up to everyone "in a couple of days."
Yeah I heard that as well....so maybe we can haz i23 beta by Thursday/Friday?
I have Friday off so...I'm available -
Quote:...
Black Swan seems to have more hit points than Hamidon, or else those portals of hers were buffing her a LOT. Seriously, it took longer to spank her down than it did fully-powered Tyrant.
...
You noticed that too? heh...
Yeah Black Swan's portals must give her +regen cause it took "forever" for them to take her down.....booooring
I miss the days of "old" Keyes iTrials when there was more than 1 thing to do/watch out for when fighting the final AV. -
Quote:They just removed an entire RP concept from the players, want to RP as a Preatorian post I23? Too bad everyone's dead.
So it's that binary to you?
Why can't your toon be a Praetorian that escaped before he nuked Nova Praetoria?
Or how do you (we) know that people in Neutropolis or Imperial City aren't still alive and are able to escape?
Sheesh; I don't usually care about story but bam, made two ways for you to RP still
Edit:
The only way the devs can stop people from RP'ing a toon that just came from Praetoria post i23 is to disable Praetorian toons all together; which I'm guessing isn't going to happen. -
Looks like a "tank-n-spank"....we'll see if that holds true.

Best and worst part about the new iTrial:
More dogs in it...
I say it's the best because we get to beat up/defeat the dog(s)!muwahahahah! Cat lovers win!
-
Quote:Two words: Dev Hackery.
... Or, it is too short, and the devs buff it during beta, which starts later THIS WEEK, might I add.
Meh, still looks a "tank-n-spank"....which isn't bad per se....
Although I don't care for the "run to wherever Chimera feels like tp'ing to!" part of the itrial...
But then again, it may mean Incandescence is more useful -
Okay so after the mmorpg showing of the new itrial...
That new iTrial seems...really short.....
*shrugs*
Can't wait to look at it myself though -
Quote:No doubt. It contains 3 costume sets, so no matter what I will be happy with the issue.
Are you sure?
I mean, what if the new costume sets look like...uh...I don't know..make you look like something horrible?
Or what if the costume sets look great on everyone BUT you (maybe the devs code it so that they'd be trollin' ya?)?
-
What are you, a Zombie Plumber?!
Edit:
Oh and I'll add my 2 inf. and say, "IF this is all that's in i23, then I, too, feel that this is more 22.5 than a whole issue's worth of content."
*shrugs*
Which is fine if there are events planned for the CoH Anniversary, a "July blockbuster" event, etc...which from what I've seen there is....just saying is all -
Quote:I learned this today as well (I'm used to Google having the "cache" link next to the actual link....guess they got away from that).Been trying that, but I can't get Google to give be a cache'd version, so it just keeps sending me to the 404 page.
Type in:
cache:URL
into the search box....so just copy the URL that isn't working and put cache: in front of it in the google search box...ta-da -

Quote:Oooh...okay thanksThe livestream is announced on the front page of MMORPG.com but it doesn't have any specifics beyond, "The trio will be running through some new content in City of Heroes to show off the awesomeness." I took that to mean they'd be playing through some I22 content, but on the Ustream they said the I23 trial.
I don't usually go to mmorpg.com so...I'll check it out if I can -

Quote:That's true for most MMOs, but this game has always given us epic Taskforces to cover those awesome, huge events. STF/LRSF, LGTF, ITF, even the Apex and Tin Mage, which started the whole war. League-worthy raids were reserved for either a humongous monster or taking your army of supers to face down an army of Rikti in the middle of their home base. Trials are nice for those events that actually warrant nothing but combat, but a Taskforce is far more efficient at telling a story. I just, personally, feel the big ending to this conflict deserves at least that.
I can understand what you're saying but also just was never expecting an 8 man "ending" to the whole Praetorian issue(s).
I've said it before, one person can make the difference in a trial.
I've been in 8 man tfs/sfs and felt like, "I could leave and it wouldn't be an issue/no one would notice." -

Okay that link doesn't work
Did anyone copy-paste all the info.?(haven't read all posts yet...will skim now!)

Quote:I watched about 15 minutes of Napoleon Dynamite before turning it off because I couldn't take any more. And I don't mean that in a good way. I love stupid movies. One of my all-time favorites is Airplane!. (The exclamation point is part of its title, like the game show Jeopardy!.) Count UHF up there, too. I even moderately liked movies like Clerks. But Napoleon Dynamite was so boring and unfunny I just couldn't stand it. I have a friend who thinks it's hilarious. He thinks I don't "get it." I do get it, it's just as funny to me as an old knock knock joke. (It's not.)
I'm with you on ND 100%.
I think I watched about 5-10 minutes and was like, "wow....this is bad....I want my 5-10 minutes of my life back."
The problem is that the main char. ND, reminds me (and my best friend) of another friend of ours because he seems to stretch the truth (nice way of saying it) a lot....just like ND.
Ugh... -
I'm not saying but...I'm just saying...
That if Staffs were released today; they wouldn't have had to do maintenance tomorrow.
Need moar staff!

Mmm... EB xp. Even faster than taking a Cyclops/Minotaur down since he doesn't have that annoying "godmode" power...
