Oh I see, start giving away freebies when I'm going to have my jaw surgery tomorrow (won't be able to login tom/Friday)!
This is a slap in the face! And with my (upcoming) jaw surgery it really hurts!
Oh, I mean...this sounds possibly cool -
Quote:I let out a big laugh in the theater once I saw the guy was, in fact, playing Galaga.....I was the only one. I'm glad that I'm not alone!
In the theater I was at; when that scene happened (showing him actually playing Galaga) there were quite a few of us that laughed (my friends, brother and myself at the very least). -

Quote:
Hehe, my brother introduced me to those HISHE movies...some of them are pretty good -
Quote:Agreed. That was the moment where I "bought" the character.
I don't pony up for movies in the theater very often. Wife and I will be going to see this one a second time, though. Maybe try it in 3D, even.
I pity whatever director has to follow Joss in the franchise.
I'll just say that I didn't find 3D to be that great for The Avengers.
Then again I'm not a fan of 3D in general....so take it for what it's worth. -
Quote:Seeing as how I don't really remember it I'd say: "not me" to both A and BI don't know if it's so much to "slip one past the censors," though it did fit that role, as to add some... how can I put it... archaic-ness to Loki somewhat like Thor has.
Besides, how many people (a) heard it correctly and (b) knew what it meant? -

Quote:I don't know. I think if he wanted this done right he would've done it himself. This way someone else gets smacked down if it goes wrong, and Thanos allowed the possibility for it to go wrong by sending lesser beings when really there's reason why he shouldn't have been able to swoop down there and take the Cube himself.
Come on now...any "super awesome" villainous being never goes down to do the "Lowly" thing of a "Fedex" mission when he has lackeys/minions to command!
Now that he knows Earth/humans are a threat, now he'll think about coming down to "smack 'em around" -
It'll be interesting to see what happens if and when they do another Avengers movie.
Especially if they add new characters to the 'roster'. Some may think, "hey she isn't an Avenger because she wasn't in the first movie!" Some may not know/think that the Avengers isn't a static team but more of a rolling roster of choices.
*shrugs* -
Quote:But...where's Kaylee? In the engineering room of the heli-carrier?!Adam Baldwin as some grizzled SHIELD agent (a'la Casey/Jayne), cleaning a weapon and griping about how it sucks to be SHIELD, talking about traveling the world, meeting interesting people and then killing them...then concluding that he LOVES working for SHIELD.

Quote:Actually, since 54% of the world's population (and *much* higher in the US) today follow a monotheistic faith wherein their one 'God' is perfectly transcendent and omnipotent, there'd be a whole lot of people who could respond as Cap did.
What's unrealistic is for the lack of faith and religious practices being portrayed in movies and comic books (Nightcrawler notwithstanding). Eighty percent of the population in the US practices a religion, and over 90% consider themselves 'spiritual'; so why so little in pop media?
Now, *how* Cap responded may sound corny and old fashioned. ...
I enjoyed that line that Cap. said, thought it was a great touch -

Quote:And there it is.
The devs do this for the same reason they terb off badgers with pvp zones.
.
hehe nice thought. I mean, badgers get upset from new day job badges and pvp badges, people who are all about (SG) Bases are upset because bases haven't been touched in 'forever'; pvp'ers are upset because....well, who knows...I mean, "lulz pvp amirite?"(<3)
So how can they nudge/poke and prod RP'ers? Not touching AE is a bit too subtle...admin channel spam is the perfect passive-aggressive technique!
Edit:
As far as the actual topic; I agree that admin channel spam should be reserved for the following:
1.) (physical) Server events: ie, server rebooting, going down for maintenance, etc...
2.) In-game event beginning and possibly the end of the event. Just say, "hey x event will be happening over here at y time. And then at the end of the event just say, "Event over, thanks everyone!"
That's about it I think...now do I get upset at the chat spam? Usually no because I don't see it all that much (hooray Low-pop server?) but I can see the OP's point.

Another one I was disappointed to see was the Super Mario Bros. 3 show. Even as a kid, I knew the Super Mario Bros Super Show was awful, but I had such fond memories of SMB3. I turned it on for my niece and nephew after talking it up for hours and...well...we just turned it off after 2 episodes.
haha, I remember that show. I used to like it too
*yes I even liked the SMB real life action movie too* *no I won't watch it again*

Beast Machines: great CGI, a bit too much hocus pocus mysticism for a TF show though. That kind of hurt the overall story, imo
TF: RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Bayformers Trilogy = W.W.N.S.O.T
WE WILL NOT SPEAK OF THIS
Beast Machines is in the "WE WILL NOT SPEAK OF THIS" category for me
I just hated the whole "you have to be at one with yourself to transform."
Really? REALLY?!? I'm a robot! grr... -
hehe nice!
One of the friends that I saw the Avengers with Sat. night is a much bigger DC fan so we were talking afterwards and he's like, "so when are they making a JL movie?"
Poor guy...I sure hope DC makes a good JL movie like this Avengers one but...I just don't see it happening when they just keep rebooting franchises AGAIN.... -
Quote:Actually, I think her later comment to Hawk pretty much gives away that it worked -completely- as intended. But she has an amazing poker face and got what she wanted. But it's very clear that his words struck her, she's just not one to crumple and cry about it.
Yeah I got that as well; it was well done.
And I was curious how he'd give screen time to all 6 Avengers (especially in the beginning)...and now we know
He just turned one into a 'bad guy' so that he can have time at the same time 'heroes' were getting screen time -
-
Okay just got back from seeing it in 3D with my brother and 2 friends.
GREAT movie!
Joss Whedon has done it again. Only bad thing was that Coulson died but...oh well.
Thought everything was well done.
Quote:Aside from all the other things mentioned in this thread, another thing I really liked about this movie was how blessedly free it was from the constant slow-motion/fast-motion/slow-motion leaping around that has come to characterize most movie fight choreography since the rise of the wire-fu movie as an American cultural phenomenon.....
And YES to this!
There was only 1 or 2 minor parts where Thor and Loki were fighting and I couldn't make out what was happening.
I thought Ruffalo did a great job as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
I did miss the 2nd end credit scene though!Guess I'll have to hopefully see it with my dad tomorrow (err...in 12 hours or so)
Edit:
Oh and at the end Tony did mention "Shawarma" around the corner/block (?).....what was he talking about? I was lost about that.... -
Well, I'll be up for almost anything starting around the 13th or 14th.
2-2.5 weeks of gaming time! wooo -
I saw the new trailer for the new Spider-Man movie and I must say it has me more interested than the previous one (oh no, you found my weakness! small sharp knives!
) I do have a question or two about it I guess.
I remember watching the 90s Spider-Man cartoons but don't really remember anything about Peter Parker's mom-and-dad. Were his parents so pivotal in something?
Thinking about it now, I can maybe, kind-of-sort-of remember an episode or two where his father was a scientist and was reported as a double agent and was working for the USSR; Spidey goes to Russia to find the truth and I think that's where he finds out that it was false and his father was a triple-agent (working for the US government but acting like he was working for the USSR)?
Right, wrong?
Does his parents matter that much to his story? -
mmm, I'll wait for TV release; didn't care for the first one too much.
