If some stranger walked up to me and my friends and tried to interrupt or engage themselves in our private conversation, ignoring them would be among the more polite options. Where do you live that strangers routinely try to worm their way into private conversations?

This trial really doesn't suck and that makes me super happy. Thanks for your hard work.

Quote:What would you do if, in real life, you were engaged in conversation with a group of friends and some random stranger just shoved in and started chattering at you? There were peeps hanging in Atlas, obviously RPing. I come up, saying things in character. Never even an acknowledgement that i was there. Am I missing something? I figure they were RPing in Atlas because they wanted to RP w/ new characters. Do you need a decoder ring? I was also in broadcast (New character looking for RP SG). Did i just get unlucky, or is this a common experience amongst peeps trying to get in with an RP group?

J_B, I must admit, I admire your ability to drag any and all topics back to some variation of "super strength should be the strongest of all possible powersets" or "tankers should not only be the toughest AT, but also the most damaging".
-
I sell them like the vendor trash they are.

On my huge model character, the inner colour of the think tank (no brain) is projecting beyond the top of the glass dome. In this picture, the green is the fluid filling the jar. Note how it projects above the glass dome.

Hrm. I ran it 18 times yesterday, all on different characters, and didn't have the team disband once.

It's a good set.
Reasons to buy it:- You like fun
- You enjoy cool animations
- You don't have a stick up your *** about MAXIMUM AOE DPS ATTACK CHAIN TARGET CAP RADIUS UGUU~~~
Reasons not to buy it:- You're one of those people who think that every new set should be better in every way than every set before it
- You're one of those people who is going to ragepost about how sets that cost money should be better than every set that is free
-
It's down to personal fun/preference. Toss a coin if you gotta, either will be awesome.
-
Unsellable. Might be unmailable.
-
I'd be fine if every single future TF/Trial/Sf/Etc was exclusively through the TUT.
-
Most folks I talk to skip Initial Strike, if they are skipping anything in the set.
-
I am willing to be paid to win, but I must warn you all that my rates are not reasonable.

Prioritize Smashing/Lethal defense, not Energy/Negative. Why? Because 70% of the attacks in the game have a smashing or lethal component, and few are straight-up energy or negative. You get much more mileage out of S/L defense than E/N defense. If you did nothing else but put Kinetic Combats in your ST attacks and Reactive Armors in your resist-based powers, you would be well on the way. Look to Weave/CJ and maybe a Steadfast unique to bolster your defense numbers. If you don't have and can't afford a Steadfast unique, PM me your global here and I will mail you one free.
Once you've gotten a decent amount of S/L defense (32.5% is a good start, because a small purple will softcap you) then it's time to aim at other things. Defensively for Willpower, that means +HP. You may also want to look at +rech for your attacks. Really though, if all you did for IO slotting was boost S/L defense, you would have one tough mother who isn't to be trifled with. You have a naturally high regen rate, and you have decent resists to back things up.
People get this weird idea about Willpower: "It has an S/L resist shield, so I don't want/need S/L defense; I should shore up the Energy/Negative hole." This is wrongheaded. You can build for E/N defense and still have a tough WP character, but only because WP is a tough set. Building for S/L defense makes an already-tough WP character into a tiny god. -

Why is traps awesome? Well now.
- Traps has FFG, which meshes well with the significant defense that the protbots grant you and the other pets. It also gives you status protection, and who doesn't like status protection?
- Traps has Seeker Drones, which do -dmg, -tohit, and stun, and can be used to soak an alpha. Once they pop, the enemies are debuffed and the debuffs mesh well with the bubbles from protbots.
- Traps has Acid Mortar, which is awesome. It can be made perma with ease and at the higher end you can count on having two out at any time. You want those burn patches to be ticking for big numbers all the time, right? Right.
- Traps has PGT which does a massive -regen along with a great AoE hold. Stuff getting a little hairy? Drop PGT and watch the enemies start choking. Bonus when you make Statesman vomit up his breakfast!
- Traps has Triage Beacon, which when combined with all its other tricks can totally serve as all the healing you will generally need solo. Protbots will keep their buddies topped up as well.
Now that said, there is nothing wrong with other sets. Thermal is great, heals and debuffs? Hell yeah. Dark? You'd be crazy to turn your nose up at dark. Time? Farsight alone is worth the price of admission! Trick arrow? ...never mind. I find that when I play other secondaries, I miss Traps. On my /thermal, I miss the defense and the seeker drones. On my /FF, I miss debuffs. On my /dark, I miss status protection. On my /time... well, actually my /time is pretty awesome, but I still miss Traps. So in conclusion, traps is just awesome but really, the "best" secondary for bots is the one that you enjoy most and make work best for you. -
With you 100% on this. I wish shields were a cosmetic item only, and that you could use the powerset without the shield or use the shield with a different powerset.

Yeah, the Facebook poster just clarified that TW is on the market, which I hear tell is down.
edit: I just saw Freitag post a thread about Titan Weapons in the training room forum, but it's gone now. I swear I saw it, I am not crazy!
