Seeing the same issues with Blaster damages and +hp, and no it's not in PvP mode.
Thanks for the hard work Mids team!!! This is the one piece of software I absolutely need to have fun with CoX -

Quote:I'm confused. In the first paragraph, you say that villains have a number of systemic disadvantages compared to heroes. In the second paragraph, you say that all-villain AT teams are going to destroy heroside content. Which one is it?I simply dont trust whatever solution they come up with. Unless its something stupidly retarded like infinite merits for a short time I dont see anything that they could come up with that will make folks stay on redside with the market being the way it is. The problem with the whole thing has been since day 1, devs hate villains. Yes I said it devs hate villains. Everything about CoV is gear in such a way that it gives the heroes too many advantages, from the suck tasktict patron powers, to the piss poor AT mods that villains get, to pathatic merit amounts, its just unfair overall. Villains always get less merits per arc or tf than heroes despite the difficulty being harder and things being more frustrating. They really need to get rid of the whole merits over time metric because it simply doesnt work for balance.
True enough villains can do stuff alot faster but from what I find is that most villain players are more competent than most hero players. Villains are used to dealing with harder situations which is why they can complete the stuff so fast. What I do see happening is the following, since the devs will never allow the heroes to be at a disadvantage they will have to change the merit metric to something else. When all these villains switch sides they will most likely do certain TFs and arcs at such blazing speeds its going to cut all the merit rewards by like 1/2. Just imagine an all stalker manticore TF where you no longer have to wait on mogged pps to de-mog, instead they are killed in the first 10 seconds of the fight well before they mog. Imagine the Statesman TF with a perma-mind dom. Or an all stalker team shattering the previous speed record on a KHTF. Or all brute team totally destroying Citadel or Sister Psyche TFs. And dont get me started on what masterminds would accomplish.
edit: and what does this have to do with the BM? -

It's not really RP or themed but ever since I saw how cool Mako's patron powers looked it became hard to think up reasons not to take them

Your ability to cherry-pick an IO that is currently available redside and not blue does not negate the real problems the red market has.

Oh nice I had no idea that there was a preview out. I will have to grab them and test (on my wife's machine bwahahaha).

Yep, running the 10.3 drivers.
I think something's up somewhere because when I start the game, it shuts off Aero effects and goes right to basic, but when I go into display properties it shows Aero as being enabled. When I exit the game, Aero re-enables itself. So to recap, Aero theme enabled, starting CoX disables the Aero effects but does not change the theme, and closing CoX re-enables Aero effects.
It's an issue with both my machine and my wife's, both running 10.3 drivers, both running 5xxx series cards, both using dual monitors. This issue has persisted through a reformat and a full reinstall of CoX so I have basically accepted it, but I sure would love a fix. I have tried running maximized windowed mode but it's just not for me. -
I have the same issue and using an Aero theme didn't fix it. I've worked around it by using ctrl alt del to pull up process monitor and thus regain control. I wish I knew why the aero theme fix didn't work for me

Well OP you are definitely doing something wrong. I form all my teams from Virtue LFG Alpha, VU2010, Virtuebadges09, and Virtue TFs 2010, and none of my teams ever fail to form or fill after say ten minutes. If you are just saying "38 Dom LFT" then yeah, it's unlikely you are gonna find much, no matter how many channels you say it in. If you replace that with "L38 paper team LFM, PST for invite" and follow up with a judicious /search and a few /tells then you are gonna fill out a team fast. I've never been teamless for more than five minutes, except when I wanted to be, and I have no connections other than being a member of a few global channels.
Honestly the best advice you are gonna get is to form your own teams. People seem to be afraid to run a team and I don't know why. It's easy and fun and you get to dictate how the team runs.I have run into more than a few players who want to team but aren't willing to start a team, and those folks are getting what they deserve when they don't team. It's such a tiny burden, taking the lead, and if someone is too lazy to even do that then they don't deserve a team anyway.
If you are waiting around to get on a team, then yeah, I expect you are gonna wait a long while. If you actively make your own team, there is no waiting because there are plenty of other people who want a team too. -
Been kicked for asking the tank why he didn't have mez protection at L24, and for using Seeds of Confusion on my troller in a Posi TF (stop stealin XP!). I'd never kick anyone from a team unless they were making things less fun.

Just leave it alone. Any change is unlikely to result in real performance improvement. The reason no interface is provided is because Windows knows better than you, I or Joe Blow on some tweaker forum how to schedule CPU time, and as you've probably found on the net, there are people out there who think that if Notepad isn't maxing out their quad-core i7 CPU then there must be something wrong.
Regarding your specific observations, you only have four cores in your CPU. The other four "logical cores" don't really exist outside of hyperthreading. So, if four cores are running balls-out at 80-90%, everything is hunky-dory. COH doesn't really scale up to lots of cores that well so there's no reason to concern yourself. -
At last, the best patron joins us on the boards. Looking forward to enjoying the fruits of your labour!

Gonna be rolling ds/dark. I've never played a /dark MM and I find pain to be utter trash to play. Second choice would be Thermal, it looks fun.

I certainly don't want to have to control what attacks my pets use and when they use them. I would love the ability to tell my pets "don't get out of Supremacy range no matter what!" and/or "go there and attack from there, hold position, don't chase runners." Basically I wish that defensive posture meant no buggering off.

^^^ trounced by the speedy Zombie man!
I believe your understanding is wrong. Drops are calculated based on the mob killed and not anything to do with the character played. You might be thinking of the fact that purples can only be slotted by L50 characters.
A purple can drop to anyone, but the mob must be capable of dropping a purple. For example, I can run an ITF at L50 and invite my L43 friend. If a mob generates a purple when killed, my L43 friend has the same chance of getting it as I do, even though he is not 50. If he had run the ITF, nobody would get any purples, because the mobs would spawn at or about L43, and therefore be incapable of dropping purples. -
Traps is awesome solo and also on teams. Put another way, traps in teams will suck exactly as much as you do. Just don't be "that guy" who demands time to set up and drag enemies to your forest of death around a corner. Take the alpha with Seekers. Jump in and use PGT. Lay out Acid Mortar. Throw down a proc-filled caltrops field. Skip Time Bomb (do this solo too). Traps doesn't need to be played slow, and can keep up with the fastest teams.
If things are dead before you get to use your traps, that means the team is doing well. The team would probably not be doing any better if you had a different set. -
Just wanted to say that if you are shield charging into a mob, you are very likely Doing It Wrong™. AAO buffs your damage, so run in, BU and shield charge right under your own feet. I open fights by running into a spawn, BU, SC, WS, then cleanup on whatever is left alive.
Not sure what this
Quote:is about. Broadsword and Shield Defense are great at soloing, can handle an aggro cap's worth of mobs, and can operate without any support in most situations. Shields is great and Broadsword is too. Don't be frightened off.If you want a Scrapper with High Survivability that is very good at solo play or if you are a Scrapper player that likes to herd, operate at a distance from the team, or roam the battle field, then I would reccomend that you select a different mitigation set.
edit: forgot to mention that Grant Cover provides a good chunk of enhanceable defense debuff resistance, and is worth taking for that reason alone. My bs/sd scrap has and runs all the toggles in the set at all times, plus some others. You will be glad you have GC when you are fighting those damned Romans. -
This sticky posted at the top of this forum should clear this up for the majority of you folks.

So this explains how I got the 57 month reward last week and the 60 month reward last night

I'm interested in hearing what, if any, marketing is done for CoX. I subscribe to multiple gaming mags, go to EB Games (Canadian here!) regularly, visit a regular rotation of gaming websites, and talk to other gamers at my work, and CoX is a nonentity. No posters, mag ads, web ads, or discussion. It has no presence. It's kind of a cliche here but is there actually any marketing at all going on? I realize that as an older game it's harder to get money to market it, but it surely mustn't be impossible. On the other hand, I also realize that you can't just throw money at every damn fool idea the intern comes up with because you actually do want to turn advertising dollars in purchases and subscriptions.
Will we be seeing a big rampup of advertising et cetera for Going Rogue? It's getting pretty close.
It kinda bothers me that I play this great game and it's been around longer than WoW (I think) and yet nobody has ever heard of it except people who already play it. Maybe it's because I am Canadian and live in a remote community that I don't see anything? Gonna feel pretty silly if a huge dogpile of people comes in with cellphone pics of CoX billboards on their subway or something.
Finally, loosen the gag on the other rednames so they can let slip some more information for us -

Come on. You can muster up more nerdrage than this.
