Glad to have you! Please consider joining Virtue's global channels; they are listed in a sticky up top of this forum. A quick rundown:
- Virtue LFG Alpha - for teaming
- Virtuebadges09 - for badges
- Virtue TFs 2010 - for strike forces/task forces
- VirtueUnited - for whatever.
-
Thank god for that, because they are keeping me rich.

Quote:I can't speak for anyone else, but I make all my inf jerk hacking (dupin).Hey, this thread just gave me a question...
Where does all this money come from? People are making tens of millions playing the market, yes... But those tens of millions are coming from other players, and the consignment house takes a cut.
For this to happen, those tens of millions have to be less than the total that people are bringing in through some other means. What are those other means? Where is the inf really coming from? -
Glad you seem to be enjoying your time on Virtue!

I leave shadowfall/steamy mist on at the market because frankly most of your costumes are terrible and making them transparent is an improvement
No, I actually don't leave them running. I both do and do not understand the whole "powers off at the market" thing. Yeah, it's pointless to be running it, but if your computer can't handle someone running a stealth toggle at the market, how can you possibly handle, y'know, a fight in an actual mission? I turn them off just because of the possibility that it might actually cause a problem for some folks, but I suspect the main concern is that people really like to get angry about any damn fool thing they can. -

Everybody is going to be using the same market come GR/i18. They're being merged.

Your discs will be fine. He can also install fresh using the updater. Either way is going to require a significant chunk of data to be downloaded and installed.

Hello and welcome. Here's a link to the best source of City of Heroes/Villains info out there. Enjoy yourself!

You've just not noticed SM criticals. It hasn't been not critting just for you for five years.

My scrapper is a one-person wrecking crew with no regard for spawn sizes or hurt feelings. How should I change my playstyle to accommodate a team, knowing that sticking with the team is a waste of my abilities, the team's abilities, or both? I'd far rather see self-sufficient characters acting as such.
I agree that it's no fun when someone rushes off to solo the end boss while everyone else is still en route to the mission door, but I don't see a problem with someone trying to take on something the group hasn't gotten around to yet. The worst thing that happens is the would-be lone wolf dies, and even then it's only a problem if they whine about it or it ruins a master's run. Regarding teamies chasing lone wolves: If you follow someone obviously hellbent on taking on an eight-man spawn alone, you deserve what you get, be it glorious victory or shameful and embarrassing defeat.

Virtue's great. It's the best server ever! Its residents often suffer from what appears to be a ((speech impediment)) but after awhile you won't even notice. For maximum Virtue enjoyment, I recommend joining the following channels. . .
- Virtue LFG Alpha - for anything involving a team
- Virtuebadges09 - for anything involving a badge
- Virtue TFs 2010 - for anything involving a task or strike force
- VirtueUnited - for anything involving anything (PM a mod to be unsilenced in here)
Enjoy quality teaming and good times: Enjoy Virtue! -
The one thing that changed the game for me was joining some global channels on my server. I met tons of people, found that a lot was going on that never hits broadcast or local, and found myself a LOT more active than I ever was. I can't recommend joining your server's active global channels enough for keeping the game fun and exciting.

I love the Shard and its task forces, but I wish they would get revamped too, maybe make them cross-faction, and less like a series of radio missions. I try to run the Shard TFs on all my characters but it can be a struggle to fill teams.
-
Only problem I've ever had with Stalkers on my teams have nothing to do with the AT and everything to do with the person playing the character. Much like every other AT.

My mistake, I thought the discussion was about adding more data to the market interface. I agree that anything like a 60 day limit on items being held should be right there in front of you, probably best displayed right beside your item as a countdown timer.

I play my emp as a buffer who can heal (but probably has better things to do with her animation time). I mean, really, the auras, the fort, the AB, plenty of stuff there. I'd rather be blasting than acting like everyone's green bar is my responsibility. That said, my empath does have the Empath badge, so it's not like I ignore green bars.
I just assume that everyone on the team is a grownup who can take care of him or herself, including using insps and whatever. So you got hit a little, thanks for the endurance reduction, man, now eat a purple or something, I'm not gonna drop my bow and run across the room to bring you from 85% to 100% health. If you start getting hit a lot, cool, that means you are kicking *** and taking names, so I will start giving you Fort instead of the worthless regen scrapper who keeps on AFKing midfight, or maybe I will AB you. What I won't do is follow the tank around, give him all the buffs ever, and mindlessly stare at the team window hoping someone gets hurt so I can validate my AT choice by overhealing you so you never have to touch your precious green candies.
edit: Empathy played badly is my personal pet peeve, and teams that think they know better than me how to play my Empath are right up there too. Sorry 'bout the rant, I realize nobody was advocating bad empin' up in here. -
I try not to let my Mids' playing interfere with my CoX playing
Figuring out builds on Mids is far more fun than forcing myself to actually follow said builds, so I do whatever looks fun in game and respec out the mistaken choices later if necessary.

Quote:I'll ask, but I'll also clam up and accept it was my error the second someone shows me something that I ought to have read but didn't out of laziness or haste. It's hard to argue with your point that responsibility is important, but I'm going to try to anyway just because it's not so black and white. Do YOU read all terms of service agreements for all services, all websites, all contracts, all products, all of everything you do? Do you fully understand what each and every one of them says? When you get nailed by a fee, a charge, or a consequence that you didn't understand, don't you feel justified in asking for a refund, an extension, or some leniency?
Quote:I'm NOT saying that's how it is in the game, but the question we should ask is have we done enough to make it clear what will happen? Because the wrong answer is to just say "it was written SOMEWHERE and therefore it's your fault". Ever read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?
Really if the information is easily available and someone chooses not to use it or even read it, that's their problem and they deserve not an ounce of sympathy for the problems that arise.
