  2. I use MSE on my PCs and find it works great, alongside a healthy dose of user education, flashblock/noscript and general paranoia Oh, and never installing Acrobat.

This makes no sense. I'm interested to know how you came to this conclusion.

I'm really glad you feel this way. Retaining the old, ugly options is a mistake. New players see the character creator before they see the shiny new Ultramode world; it's important that they not be turned off by ugly models.

    edit:

As of your post, it's 144 for option 1, 63 for option 2. Looks like the playerbase at large jives with Noble Savage's position.

As of this post the count is 134 for option 1 and 59 for option 2, give or take a couple for each side that I might have double counted or whatever.

I haven't tried the last one yet, but the other three blow away your accumulated tips. Which seems to me to be broken, at least for going to Pocket D. Leaving Pocket D to either side I can see blowing away your tips for the other side, but not going there, nor exiting to the same side you earned the tips on.
That's a pretty trivial price to pay to get that badge. You're kinda grasping at straws here to find a problem. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, greys can't earn the non-native beacons for their SG anyway.

edit: the hero who ported you there can presumably take the ten seconds needed to walk back out and port you out again.

Bottom line, avoiding menu work is preferable and brings us back to Options 1 and 2.
Knowing this, I would definitely say option 1. Far rather see improved costume quality than time spent keeping the old and ugly pieces in some semblance of order.
  8. Love to see "right click >> ignore this badge progress" or some such so it doesn't clutter my display. While we're at it how about a way to go about sorting the lists alphabetically or whatever?
  9. I really like the kinetic melee sounds, and the electrical control sounds are decent too. Maybe your experience is subjective, and we don't need to pillory the sound people because tastes vary.
  10. All my scraps have the same theme: Yakety Sax. Come to think of it, all my characters have that song as their theme.
  11. It's cause they have some common sense! You're a scrapper fer Chrissakes, they know what you have planned for them!
  12. If you're going to be random rolling, you are always going to be better off using HAM/VAMs than straight merits. Selling the dross will pay for the 20M per merit to convert.
  13. I don't know what the attack will be, but I am betting it will be paired with a dose of Fiery Embrace for maximum goodness.
  14. I'd farm alignment tips. In fact, I am doing so on a L30 character.

    Taking charge?

In praetoria, teaming is way easy, but once I got onto the isles, things seem a bit sparse.

Well, I'm already kind of decided on the whole taking charge idea, so what are the biggest pitfalls and dangers of being a team leader?
Yes you should start teams. It's easy, fun and works every time. Join your server's global channels to make it easier. The biggest pitfalls and dangers for team leaders are basically letting people get bored. Have a mish set, talk in team, keep people informed of what's going on. Don't hold up the team to find the perfect mix of ATs or anything; the game plays just fine with any old mix of competent (or not) players. Don't let the team idle at the mish door or inside the entrance waiting for everyone to get ready. A rule I follow is that if over half the team is ready to start the mission, we start and the rest can catch up. Make sure everyone knows what the team is gonna be doing; it sucks joining a team that you think is running papers and it turns out they are gonna start a SF or something. Oh and start easy and ramp up the diff as you go, nothing sucks worse than joining someone's team set for +4/x8 and the team wipes and suddenly everyone has to leave for SG stuff or dinner or whatever

    Enjoy!

Yeah, you have no idea what the game is about or how it's changed since you quit in 2004. I can't wait for your Mission Architect review!

    Detonator

It's a crap power with costs that people often don't consider. It costs the end to activate, plus the end to summon the pet you exploded, plus the end to rebuff that pet. In addition, it inherits the slotting of the pet, so slotting detonator with damage does nothing. It's not as bad as Repair or Poison trap from the poison secondary but it's right up there for things not to take on a MM.

Every tip you run expires in 20 hours. It's not cross-character, so if you've filled up your tip-o-meter for Captain Awesomesauce, feel free to switch to The Mighty Spatula and erun some on him, too.

    Upgrade fail?

Verify that your MB is sending the correct voltage to your RAM, I had a similar issue when I upgraded my memory and it did exactly what you describe when I was unintentionally undervolting the memory.
  22. I like teaming with anyone. Bad teammates are always bad because of the player, not the AT. Some ATs and powersets attract more bad players but that's to be expected.

You're not losing those slots. You will still be able to slot the inherent versions of the fitness powers.
