Yeah this only started when I changed my drivers accidentally via Steam, which apparently has a facility to update the ol' Radeonandonandon drivers. I have no idea what version I am running now!
Also, I just logged in and checked and I no longer get the blocks of black on the screen.

I get the same thing in character select with a 5850, and just like psydar, it's only if i return to it. Not too worried.

Yep yep. And i dont think it ever ends up affecting how you act. Its much more "meh, better than not having the scaling res" than something that truly defines the set considering it is a hell of a lot better to have your health full and 0 res than to have 45% res and only 10% of your HP.

The fact that the 3 auto powers scale your defense higher as your health is lower means that you have to think a bit differently than other brute sets, and have to be comfortable working while at a risk, since filling your health = getting hit more often.

My SR brute was softcapped by 40 and is nigh unkillable. I don't have aid self but I am DM/SR so Siphon Life keeps me upright. It has a taunt aura but if you intend to hold aggro you are gonna want Taunt proper.

I like brute SR because of the much-improved order you obtain powers. Exemping my SR brute doesn't bother me much; exemping my SR scraps doesn't happen much. The extra hitpoints don't seem to make much difference to me, but it must help at least somewhat.

Well now, welcome to Masterminding! For bots, I would go with Dark or Traps. They are both all-round awesome and only have one stinker each (Black Hole and Detonator). Force field is safe as houses, but it will bore you to tears and things just die faster when they are Tar Patched or Acid Mortared

Just want to point out that Dispersion Bubble doesn't protect against sleep. Otherwise some interesting ideas, although I don't necessarily think changes are needed.

I know I will celebrate if my soldiers lose Brawl. They have no business punching people. I am sorry. Yeah, I do know brawl may increase dps a bit but at what cost? Them running into the mobs and dying way faster? Sometimes it's not just about dying faster. With Soldiers' cone attacks being very narrow, I need them to stand "far" so their cones cover more targets. I don't want them to move forward at all. -
