I will get right on playing the ATs that you think I should be playing. I am very sorry for playing the ATs I enjoy most.

Immob Reichsman and taunt from a ways away so he never craps out his megathunder superstun squishykiller. Other than that, don't die! The ones I have been on that failed, it was either a scrapper forgetting that dying does matter for this particular TF or a terrible fire/kin (redundant?) that thought because he could farm AE he could handle anything.

Pretty sure they got a big ol' -regen component in their burny-type powers, which is kind of troublesome for WP.

As an introvert, teaming in MMOs is the perfect social environment for me. I am safe in my own home, I can leave whenever I want, I can ignore attempts to engage me in conversation that I find objectionable, and I don't need to ever justify my choices to anyone. I would bet that the set of people who can't, won't or don't team due to introversion is microscopic, although I can see it being used as a justification when people refuse to respect one's decision not to team.

Some good points, Lightslinger. I know that my partner and I have ceased joining supergroups at all, having replaced their function entirely with one or more global channels. We have a personal SG for each side, with nobody in it except our characters. Storage, teleporters, and crafting is all we use it for.

Sorry to see things worked out this way BDD
PK will be missed.

Just use the door on the boat adjacent. Had the same problem last night and some helpful soul in broadcast (I know, right?!) told us about the door on the boat trick.

Quote:The problem is that it doesn't actually work. Some of the Virtue globals have been set to a 30 day timeout since the timeout command was implemented, with zero people removed. The Channel Timeout command was supposed to fix this. The problem is not all channels use it.
edit: I've petitioned and gotten a direct response saying that the command doesn't work and that the GMs cannot remove inactives from a global channel, even if they are past the channel timeout limit. -
Didn't join any mediocre SGs, so that's a plus.

I can't tell if this thread is trolling poor typists or people who don't think the new TFs are all that hard.

It's fast and hits like a bus loaded with concrete-filled nuns. I love it on my scrapper.

"Pressure?" Bowie/Queen booster pack confirmed for 2011!

Quote:There's four combos, two of which are bad and two of which are good, so I guess they balance each other out. I honestly didn't find the set lacking before I got into the combos, and I have heard tell that the top performers with DB don't use combos, so make of that what you will.So there aren't tons of combos, just a few specific ones where there's a chain that has some extra effect?
It just seems like, if they aren't going to be a balance problem, the power set has to be weaker without them so it isn't overpowered with them, or something like that. -
They just daisy chain attacks to create effect. When you start one, the next power in the chain gets highlighted assuming you have it on a tray. They are no big deal, although they are pretty fun, and you can totally get by without them. I didn't even touch combos until I was of a level to use Sweep and Attack Vitals, because the other combos are worthless. Once you get the two that are good for something, you will like them plenty.
edit: they are nothing like magnets -
This is a long thread with a low signal:noise ratio, and I'm unwilling to trudge through it. What's the argument against getting a temp power or two/popping a bunch of insps/asking one single person to come help with killing clones while you beat on Trapdoor? I get that it's tougher on some ATs/powersets than others, but it also seems to be tougher on some players than others. There's no shame in getting help or adjusting your playstyle. The things that work on ol' Hopkins in the Manticore task force might not work so well against a guy who can split himself into multiples, let alone a hopped-up Bobcat or a Battle Maiden who can summon freaking swords from space or whatever.
edit: Heraclea, I don't see any of that in any of the new content. I don't know where you are seeing it either. It sounds like you are making something up to rail against. -
Bugger spines for a laugh, where is my broadsword brute?

I'm a moderator of one of these channels. The channel timeout command has been set (and reset when it failed to work the first time) and has done nothing. The general consensus, supported by talking with a GM, is that the command does nothing, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be on the radar to fix. Currently the Virtue LFG Alpha channel is set for 30 days, has been for two months, and this has resulted in zero people removed. It's a safe bet that the command doesn't actually work and never has.
As an aside, setting it to a year would unproductive, because the monitoring starts when the command is set, according to the GM I spoke with. He also told me that the command didn't working and he couldn't remove people who should have been removed by it. So, welp. I wish it wasn't so, because it's really frustrating having a channel full of inactives. Might be that the channel changes over, but that's nothing more than an idea in my mind at the moment. -
Also, if you have a resist shield, that applies to the damage first and the remainder is shared amongst you and your pals. You can achieve silly levels of survivability sometimes.
