Oh man that explains a lot about why I was sucking so much wind on the trials I went on last night. I can't log in to do it, but I hope someone /bugged this in game.

Well now. I ran with a PUG'd group on my first trial, a Lambda trial. We failed. Contributing factors were an idiot leader who insisted on using broadcast because he didn't understand how to add league chat to a tab, people not smart enough to check to see if they had any acid in their temp powers (and refusing to do so when asked/told how to do it), and general lack of guidance. Only a couple people in the league had run it before. My initial impressions were not good, because I didn't understand how the trial worked and it sure seemed like Marauder had a lot of friends.
Second trial was a BAF, with people generally known to be good players from a certain mechafeline global. Went great. We allowed two prisoners to escape and didn't care. Only trouble we had was people forgetting to deal with the adds on the final Siege + Nightstar fight. Still finished successfully and had fun. Big factors were our leader explaining things beforehand, everyone putting their egos aside and taking direction, and the teams staying together.
Last one of the night was another Lambda with people from the same global. We wiped out all the portals in short order, because everyone was clever enough to look for the acid in their temp power list. Then it was on to the adds, which were cleared really fast because we stuck together. We then dealt with Marauder's jumping about for a short while, and then he died. The end, we won. Major points for the leader explaining everything in advance, for people doing as asked, and for being methodical about clearing adds then engaging Marauder.
I think these things are going to get a lot easier when everyone and their dog has the new Incarnate slots populated. As it is they are not that tough, but they do punish those who are unwilling to organize. -
Quote:This, along with a name wipe for accounts inactive over three months.Inactive (for > 1 month) Trial account name wipe. Maybe send out an email blast to give 12-18 hours warning with an invitation to upgrade...or else!
Quote:I'd make TFs launchable by a soloer. If it proved to be too much to do in a single day, I'd just lower the requirements to 2 persons to start any TF - that one should be just a matter of changing a few number entries, I suppose.
My personal one: make it so you can email someone by clicking their name and selecting a menu option. -
All I want from the leader is to tell me what the team is doing before I get invited, and to set the mish in a timely manner. Anything else is gravy. You wanna tell me a plan, or poll the team on what to do next, fine, but as long as you have something for me to do 95% of the time, I am happy.
When I'm leading, I tell people that team splits are fine as long as you can handle yourself, your aggro is your problem, and that if you die, don't cry. I figure they can glean from those statements that if they need support or feel squishy, they can stick with the team. I've never had a complaint.
This game is easy, simple and straightforward. People really don't need to be told much. -

I much prefer the lower level WSTs, if only because the bonus XP is delicious.

Love mine, he's my main badger and rather tough to kill. Built him for s/l defense and never looked back.

Quote:Wow, you are not very knowledgeable about how CoX works at all.In the CoH engine there is only One Single Knock Effect
There is no existing mechanic that separates the knock-effects outside of the effect magnitude scaling.
This is why when you slot knockdown powers with knock-increase, stuff goes flying.
Now, should the game be updated to support 3 different states of Knock effect? Oh Hells Yes it should. That would fix a lot of the problems players have with powers causing knockback that are supposed to only cause KnockUp or KnockDown. -
OP I think what you want is Steelclaw's spreadsheets

I'm happy with whatever we get, because I am happy with the game today, was happy with it this time last year, and will no doubt be happy with it this time next year.

This thread is like the twilight zone for me. I have never heard anything but "hell yes more VEATs!" when the possibility of having a VEAT join comes up.

Heh, I love it when johnny-come-latelys decide they know exactly what's needed to "fix" our game. Isn't amazing how CoX has done just fine for seven years, until (lucky us!) slainsteel joined up a few months ago and let us know how badly it's really going?

My first MM was a mercs, and I didn't regret it until I saw how much better every single other primary is. Still, it's a mastermind, so you are gonna be fine.

Quote:This is gonna blow your mind: some people are patient marketeers who also play the game actively. The problem is that the people who are not in a hurry to sell are not active toons. The patient ones are marketeer toons that only log on for a few minutes a day to change their auction settings
Quote:Except most of the time when you see 200 bidders, they are not 200 separate bidders. That's one player using 2 or 3 toons to set up a bulk bid. -
Anything that makes the game more interesting is OK by me, I love the super stunners! First time I ran across one I was caught by surprise and he killed me after my toggles dropped
Now that's a good mob, gotta kill him twice and his rez debuffs you some!

Virtue LFG Alpha has been replaced by Virtue LFG Beta. Please leave Alpha and join Beta, or, if you're new, please join Virtue LFG Beta and be welcome! Also, if anyone knows who has mod powers on the original Virtue LFG, please PM myself or Quinch.

Quote:Not a troll here but I have run with you twice on the STF. Both were master attempts and both times you were on a stone tank. Both times you refused to leave and re-enter on a bad pull because you didn't believe that GW had a hold that could hit through granite, so you stuck around and got killed. Both times you claimed that it had never happened before, even though I was there for one of the previous times it happened.I don't believe that I claimed we're pro's 'because' we speed TF's; I just made the claim that we are.
What confuses me is, what exactly makes trolls so sure that we aren't? Have any of them actually run with us?
I'm sure you've gotten better at the game by now, because you really didn't have anywhere to go but up. Hey, free bump to your thread! -

I fortune everyone on the team that doesn't have one. Sometimes people cry on the forums that they don't like being buffed but I have never had it happen in game.
