I know your shift key works, because you capitalized "I" in your post. Why not try using it elsewhere too?

When would I need Taunt, exactly? I'm balls-deep in the mob, Punchvoking and holding aggro with my taunt aura. Runner? Meh, someone else will grab it, I got all these guys right here. Blaster pulls a boss off me? He'll kill it mighty fast, and if not, live and learn, Blaster buddy! Shield scrapper pulls aggro from me? She's tough enough to handle it until either it's dead or I pull it back. Brute beats me to the spawn and grabs aggro first? Good on him, he needs the fury and anything that lives more than ten seconds will be on me by then.

Taunt's fine for what it is, but I don't need it to be an awesome tank. Tankers have so many tools to pull aggro, my animation time is better used attacking than waving my hands and making silly grunting noises. The fact you think Taunt is needed to be a good tank tells me that it's you who doesn't know much about tanking.
  3. I'd like to see clothing with more folds. Something that adds weight to the fabric. Doesn't have to be dynamic, but stuff like the bustle-looking thing for females from the Steam punk pack.
  4. Huh. That's what I assumed the thread was about, and that's the problem I've never noticed across five max-level trappers. I'll have to keep an eye out when I play them, see if I notice it happening.

Well, it ain't the "make everyone love you if you were a dev" thread, after all.

Maybe you are already doing this but just in case you aren't...

Shift+ leftclick to teleport to the mouse pointer, or at least as close to it as you can get given range limits and obstructions.
  7. Maybe i'm confused, then. The problem is the FFG getting knocked back? I do slot -kb IOs in my trappers, so it's not usually me getting knocked back.
  8. This is a problem that I am sure exists but I have never, ever noticed in 250+ levels of trapping.
  9. Oh boy, oh boy.
    • Convert all KB into KD. Allow players to slot KB enhancements to convert KD back into KB. Add significant damage to KB effects so that knocking enemies into walls and such actually causes damage.
    • Alter the defense and resistance cap system. Nobody would be able to reach soft- or hard-caps without external buffs. Non-melee ATs would selfcap at 20% defense/30% resist. Scrappers/stalkers would selfcap at 30% defense/50% resist, brutes would selfcap at 35% defense/60% resist, and tankers would selfcap at 40% defense/75% resist. This would include all IO set bonuses and self-inspiration use.
    • Cap all defense related IO set bonuses at 5% to any value.
    • Cap all global recharge at +75%. This would include IO set bonuses, Hasten and all other sources.
    • Add a 50% chance for friendly fire to all AoEs. Player characters in a detrimental AoE effect would have a 50% chance of suffering the effect themselves.
    • Create failure conditions for all task/strike forces. Oh, you let Dr. Todd die? Moonfire TF failed. Add a 20 hour cooldown for rerunning a failed TF.
    • Eliminate all external buff/debuff stacking. Weaker effects shall be overwritten by stronger effects.
    • Disallow the creation of characters with names in all caps or all lowercase.
There's so much more, but one has to stop somewhere.
  10. If it makes you feel any better I have never noticed that issue on any of my tankers and I have never heard of it before. I am pretty sure that if there was actually a tohit problem for tanks then some of our resident math geniuses would have picked up on it a long time ago.

    Not necessarily.

This is pretty much right. Relatively simple to softcap, and you gain more benefit from AAO. Also, due to the oddball way Shield Charge works, Scrappers get a lot more mileage out of it than Brutes. Also, War Mace is amazing on scrappers. Just incredible.
  12. I just built a system and went SB. The performance and overclocking et cetera worked out that I felt fine with the SB and saved myself thirty bucks (and got a bigger SSD, heh).

Basically whichever way you go you will be doing awesome and I guarantee you that if you had two systems SB and IB side by each, you could never tell the difference in how fast they played games and suchlike. Also coming from a PII? You are going to be blown away, my friend. I came from a Q6600 and the difference was mindboggling.

Came here to post/ask about this.

Also a big HELL YEAH to the team transport power.

    d
The devs have told us in the past that once the loading bar appears on the screen, it's all our computer that determines the speed at which we load in. I don't have the post handy, but I definitely remember it being from someone with a red name.
  15. Your thread title is flawed, OP! I do play defenders

What do I love about defenders?
    • Knowing that any team I join on my defender will be a great team because it has at least one well-played defender on it.
    • Ggetting tells when I log in asking if I want to log in on one of my fenders and join a mish team in progress.
    • Taking a team that is struggling and making things easy.
    • Taking a good team and making it great.
    • Taking a great team and making it into the stuff legends are made of.
My current favourite defender, a time/fire, solos most DA arcs at +4/x8, dropping down to "only" +3/x8 for the real tough enemy groups. Can other characters do that? Of course, but I make it look good.
  16. Very rarely seen the queue. I see the Retrieving Character List thing every single time I log in, and like the OP, sometimes it takes up to a minute. Sixty seconds! What's up with that? It is my internet connection? I've got a good connection, not great but 50 megabits down/2.5 up, and my ping times are good.

My static team already runs 1:45 Doc Qs. I can't imagine what this will do to our times. Definitely a must-purchase, as soon as work's finished.
  18. At the prices they were asking for those things? Hell no.

There is no single IO set that buffs accuracy, damage and defense, if that's what you mean. Take Werner's advice and frankenslot the living bejeebers out of it. I personally treat it as an attack first and a def buff second, but I still slot for defense as much as I can squeeze in.
  20. Mine's in Blaze. Procs 9 times out of 10 it seems. I love it.

  25. This is kind of a turd sandwich. Ditch the whole "based on modified recharge" thing. It's leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
