So I am not crazy! At least about the slot thing
I totally suspect it is my PC somehow with the lag. My partner just tried it and wasn't able to reproduce the lag thing. -
Quote:Well there are two issues with enhancements. First and more tiresome is that when placing an enhancement, the progress of clicking down through the set type to the particular set to the particular IO is laggy. I am using a Radeon 5850 card with 11.9 Catalyst package. My PC is a Q6600 with 8 GB RAM. A friend with a Geforce card says he doesn't have this problem so maybe it is just me or a driver issue or whatever.@Emberly: Destiny issue was reported already on the Titan forums, thanks for your input. Cannot reproduce your issues with enhancements. Further details?
The other one is that when I open a saved build and shift-click a slot (to remove it), I cannot re-assign that slot to any power until I enter Dynamic mode (as opposed to Level-Up mode). It's only happening on this one saved build. Here is the data chunk for the build that is doing this:

Reporting that I can't see any Destiny powers other than Barrier Invocation, and that placing enhancements is very laggy, and that when I remove an enhancement after all enhancements are placed, I have to switch to Dynamic mode to re-place the enhancement.
edit: also reporting thanks a lot for the fast update and all your hard work. -
Quote:THis has been my experience as well. I am pleasantly surprised by how well the TAoE Spinning Strike works.I have no trouble hitting enemies with it. In fact it can be even better at it by virtue of being able to "aim" the attack in the many circumstances where the enemies aren't perfectly circling you for whatever reason. I've even observed that if the enemies are as tightly packed around you as you say, hitting an enemy in front of you can still hit someone behind you.
It also synergizes with a cone better, since you have to have enemies clumped in an area in one spot rather than all around you if you have any plans of actually using a cone attack to its potential. I've never been a fan of "wade in, wade out" for traditional PBAoE + cone sets. -

Quote:What powers in Super Strength don't work with Super Jump?Looking at performance; it hinges completely on Rage, has one of the worst melee powers in the game and 2 of it's 9 powers flat out do not function with one of the most popular (and conceptually appropriate for super strength) travel powers.
.
Your other points are going to have to be taken as opinion I guess because Super Strength's animations just scream SUPER to me. Street Justice's animations are fancy and I love them but if I try to imagine Superman or the Thing in a brawl they don't look like StJ in my head. -
Well, the thing about WP is that it already has a ton of regen, so adding more is less effective than just adding defense. Adding +hp has the effect of increasing effective regen, so that's often a better solution. Quick Recovery and Stamina with a Performance Shifter proc in each plus a couple slots with 50 EndMod IOs will give you plenty of end. Check PMs, I will send you a really basic 50 build with a decent budget and some good defense/recharge bonuses.

I would love it if the devs made NPCs/hostages/allies as good (ha!) at following me around as my mastermind pets are. Those lovable buffoons never lose me, but if I rescue a hostage and get more than ten feet away I might as well not exist.
-
I agree that the sound effects need more WHACK and less WHIFF. Regarding Heavy Blow's animation: isn't it a fast elbow to the face, at least from one arm?
-
If I win, can my grand prize be that Posi gives War Witch a haircut with the flowbee?

I don't find that Spinning Strike hits fewer mobs than Lotus Drops, simply by dint of the fact that the player occupies a good chunk of space in the Lotus Drops AoE, whereas by targeting a mob in the middle ranks,Spinning Strike's AoE can be filled completely with enemies.

I know you are speaking tongue-in-cheek, but I would pay good money for a set that was functionally identical to Shield but didn't require me to carry a shield around. I would also pay good money for a set that functioned identically to Invulnerability, but let me carry a shield.
Really I would like it if shields were a costume part that wasn't tied to one power set, I guess. Purely cosmetic, but there it is. -
Much as I love WP and StJ, it sounds like Inv/SS will fit your needs better.
Willpower is a great primary and very tough, but to me, Invulnerability seems tougher. Capped S/L resist, decent other resists, great defense, on-demand +HP/heal, and a great taunt aura; Invulnerability is the whole package. A well-built WP can almost certainly be comparable, though. Invulnerability has its Achilles heel in psi damage, but I find it's not so bad. Street Justice is a lot of fun but when it comes to feeling like a powerhouse, SS beats it hands down. Not just from the AoE and the sheer awesomeness of KO Blow, but the animations and sound effects are more "over the top" than StJ.
Imagine Superman in a fight with someone of his own caliber. Dealing out big hits, and shrugging off the best the other guy can hand out. When the going gets really tough, he calls upon a reserve of strength (Dull Pain) to get him through to victory. That's Super Strength/Invulnerability, baby! -
This... is a bad build. The main reason to slot purples is for the fat recharge bonuses, but you don't have enough slotted. You haven't built for recharge or S/L def, and have massively overbuilt for end recovery. You took Focused Accuracy. Your attacks are mostly four-slotted. From what I see, it looks like you aimed for damage bonuses from your sets, which don't go very far on a brute with the lower base damage mod.
Consider a full, ground-up rebuild. Aim for S/L defense, with +hp or recharge as a secondary goal. Soul Mastery has Gloom and Darkest Night and is a great choice. As a WP, you don't need Superior Conditioning/Physical Perfection. I'm at work and can't run Mids here, but if you want I can PM you a suggested build later in the day. -

Quote:Well now!Does anyone know the numbers for this, which gives you a better recharge towards your powers, quickness or ligtning relfexes?
Can lightning reflexes get hasten to be perma?
Also input your opinon on super reflexes and how it works for you.
I am pretty sure they are clones of each other with a different name. They grant a recharge bonus so they can help you get to permahasten, but they can't get you there alone.
Super reflexes is a pretty nice set. It has some advantages:- Easy to get to softcap using a few sets or some creative power choices/slotting
- Easily capped defense debuff resistance
- Has a neat little scaling resistance mechanic, so that as you lose HP you gain resistance
- Nice little recharge buff and slow resist in Quickness
- Defense is your only reliable trick, you have no reliable source of healing or resists other than pool powers and the scaling resists
- You almost have to take all the powers in the set other than Elude, as they all are needed to achieve your peak performance
- Elude is not that useful once you get to higher level and are built up to softcap
- Nonpositional attacks (mostly psi) will give you fits now and then
It is a perfectly viable secondary and is capable of amazing things, but you should keep in mind that you may want to build in some high regen, get and slot Tough, and/or take Aid Self to bolster your defenses. -
Quote:This really confuzled me for a while. I was playing a buffing character and I kept noticing that somehow I was missing one teammate with my buffs! So, I helpfully kept rebuffing her, trying to figure out how I was consistently failing to hit her. She finally sent me a tell explaining that she was canceling my buffs for her own reasons. Mind=blown! At that point I am sure we were both frustrated and irritated, but that friendly tell fixed things right upYou do have the ability now to manually turn off buffs. Right click on the particular buff icon and hit CANCEL. That'll turn the, say, Ice Shield off. No more buff animation (no more buff either, of course). This doesn't work for stuff like Mystic Fortune or Secondary Mutation, since those are temporary powers.

I would love it if free players could REPLY to tells. Even that would make a huge difference.

The use of the help channel described by the OP sounds like it was lifted directly from Virtue server. I assume other servers use it as a general chat as well. It's to be expected; a zero-effort, serverwide channel is rather appealing to the sort of person who loves hearing his own voice (or seeing his own typing).

Quote:Except at that point these impulse shoppers will have their stipend payment for the previous month, assuming they didn't burn it up on whiskey and whores (or XP boosters and team insps, as the case may beNext month they'll have another excuse and another piece of content to lure in the impulse buyers.
). They may well have spent those points, but that is due to them being impulsive, not Paragon Studios nefariously releasing awesome stuff ten days early. Put another way, impulsive spenders with attractive purchase options will always run themselves bingo on points, regardless of the release schedule of said purchase options.
