  1. But now Facebook says it's on the PM for 0 points! What to believe?!

  3. Facebook Friday suggests that Titan Weapons are on the Training Room for testing, is that the case?

Disagree. More team-up teleporter, please. It's a good system and I am glad it's being used going forward.
  5. Titan weapons now on training room, as reported by Facebook Friday comments. It it true? Who knows, I am at work
  6. I think you're mixing me and Aneko up. I was the one who said that using reactives and kincombats makes me a sad panda. I said that because those sets are typically used for typed defense bonuses, not positional like SR uses. I certainly didn't mean to imply that using IO sets was a mistake, and if that's how I came across that was entirely my error in communication and I apologize. My own SR characters use IOs extensively, just not those particular sets.

That said, the fact that you planned you build without Mids is really quite the accomplishment and no joke; I would never have the patience to do that so hats off to you. I will happily send you a PM with a build using other sets, and yes I will ensure that you don't need Mids to see it

Sorry about the miscommunication, it's gotten both of us on edge and life's too short for that.

edit: here is my El Cheapo MA/SR build, from a character I no longer play. Cost was real low and the build treated me fine (I quit playing it because I can't stand the EC animation ). This build has overcapped defenses, 77.5% global recharge, net 3.73 end recovery, and can EC every ~5 seconds/DT every ~6 seconds. Lots of room for improvement but I was unwilling to throw money at a cahracter I didn't enjoy. The overcapped defenses are an artefact from when I didn't understand how DDR worked and thought that Cims would trash me; turns out that just doesn't happen with SR

  9. A new GPU is going to help you a lot more than another 4 GB of RAM. A Radeon 6850 or a GeForce 460 will be a big ol' upgrade for you without breaking the $200 psychological barrier that I know some folks have about upgrades. Dunno if it will make another three years but I guarantee you will get more longevity from a graphics upgrade than a RAM upgrade.

Not confirmed. However, there are titan weapons in the Halloween event screenshots on the promo page, so...

I have often wondered why some people will be standing beside me at the university, firing off Aim or Build Up at regular intervals, while they are presumably crafting. I have often thought "nobody would be foolish enough to auto Build Up... would they?"
  15. I cannot express in words how much I look forward to hitting someone with a giant sword that has a number of smaller swords stuck through it. And the train crossing sign? The essence of awesome.

Agreed 100% on all counts. Sound effects need less WHIFF and more CRUNCH. The set itself is freaking awesome.

    Tanking!

All this is my own opinion and doesn't represent the gospel or anything. When I say "tank" I mean the person who is actively trying to keep the enemy's attention, not the Tanker archetype. I have learned that there are a great number of ATs that can tank.
    • Good tanks have high situational awareness. They watch other players' health bars and they keep an eye out for unexpected visitors to an established fracas.
    • Good tanks like being first in, but not necessarily last out. It's better to be working up some aggro on the next spawn than to hang around beating on that last MOG'd Paragon Protector.
    • Along the same lines, good tanks don't leave their team in the lurch. If the current brawl is still dangerous, hang around until the team has it in hand.
    • Good tanks leave their ego at home. So that scrapper charged ahead to the next spawn while the current one is still hale and hearty? Let her have it, she will probably be fine and if she dies, she won't blame you. The plants/fire dom is tearing up spawns all on his own? Great, leaves you able to wrangle the stuff that the rest of the team is working on.
    • Good tanks don't need all the aggro. They just need the aggro that the rest of the team can't handle.
    • Good tanks use the all tools they have. As an Energy Aura brute, you have a good taunt aura and your attacks have Poke-Voke, so spread the love and hit the baddies you want on you. Don't just beat on the toughest target to the exclusion of the others. Taunt is a fine tool and very useful, but it's certainly not necessary.
    • Good tanks know they can't save everyone from their own stupidity. Sometimes letting one idiot die to keep the rest of the gang safe is the best option.

Dark Armor is tentacle-free! Try some today! It's Dark Melee that gets all tentacular on you, with Midnight Grasp.

edit: devil dingo, if you don't have the Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regeneration and can't afford it, PM me your global here and I will email you one soon as I get home for lunch or after work. It's seriously the greatest investment any DA user can make, and will be a gamechanger. If you already have one, carry on down that awesome road.

It does seem weird that on my Dark Armor scrapper, his highest resist is... Psi. I agree that Negative Resist should be higher and could probably be capped, like Energy Resist is on Electric and Fire Resist is on Fire.
  22. I've noticed a lot more players. Many new players, many returning players. I am glad for it.
