  1. As Des said, SGs now are more for optional means of transportation between zones, or if it's a personal base, personal storage places. Especially now with the increase to channel limits, I know I'm sitting on something near 10 channels as is, mind you, not all of them are regularly active (VBS or VC =/= VB/VB09).
That's the point, if you want someone to play with, you have channels now, which hold more people, in more places (they're global, not just blue/red side). You will almost always get better results from channels over SGs.

The only scenario where you wouldn't would be a case like the original NightShift. The SG that was made for those who played at the ****** hours of the day, when mostly everyone was gone.

Also, global channels, I find, are best used in separate tabs than your general chat tab. If you're trying to read through the clutter of multiple chat windows simultaneously, I could totally agree with you that they're cumbersome. Since you can separate them, however, that excuse doesn't really count. Here's how I setup my HUD:

The general global channels are in the top left corner, VB/VB09, and VF below. The more private channels are down in the middle. That's for the SG (bro and I), and those I regularly game with. I keep all channels separate from the general chat tab, to avoid clutter.
  2. honestly, though. Every time you make a new toon the default colors are the horridly default pink or cyan or green. Those terribly bright and obnoxious colors that we (excluding DC) rarely use for anything. *shudder*
  3. Ele has a costume that looks *kinda* like eochai (pumpkin head, brown leafy body, etc).
I purposefully changed into that costume before the mission, then switched after I knew he had spawned, just so I could fight that retarded-looking version of me :P

Your jacket and pants aren't using your secondary color. Judging by the picture, it looks like your characters initial color scheme involved that pink upon creation. You didn't need to change the secondary color of your pants/jacket, because they don't actually change anything. So when they used your colors and inverted them (which they did), the pink that was unused came to life, and the brown went away.

All your pieces are perfectly inverted color-wise. As far as I can see, anyway.

    Attack Chains

toon 1: BU, throw spines, jump in mob, spine burst, sit still and let the toggles finish them off, impale whoever isn't dead or dying.

toon 2: BU, thunder strike (or chain induction, or even both), shield charge (or lightning rod), fireball. You can alternate the tele-nukes if you're going fast enough (it's overkill to use both in the same mob unless you're rocking +4x8, which isn't very efficient for scrapper farming).

Depending on what you're fighting and at what level, they should melt with relative ease.
  7. I never look into Shamsters links... until now. I'm glad I broke that habit. That was freakin hilarious

I think 120 or 240 days is plenty of time for the boot. It also should be clearly posted in the MOTD so there won't be any excuses for people not knowing ahead of time (general public and OPs). We don't want corrupt OPs sneaking in the middle of the night and taking everyones' stars away and booting everyone now, do we? <.<

right... minimum of 7 days. You wouldn't want the channel to kick people in 1 to 6 days, would you? That would be retarded. I think the anger is coming from stupidity, personally.
  10. I'd put impervium armor 4 sets in your (personal) armors, for one. Those help endurance quite a bit. I just build one out, only thing I fully 6 slotted with one set was animated stone and heat loss.

In fossilize I love a 4 set of basilisks with both lockdown and devastation procs (for more hold), stone cages, stalagmites, and volcanic gasses are rockin purple sets.
Stone cages has a posi damage proc in it, and volcanic gasses has a 50 rech IO to get its duration down. I slot earthquake with tohit-debuff, since you have so much -def everywhere else (5 set of dampened spirits). Sleet is the fun one: 3 rech IOs, and 3 procs, it has plenty to choose from. I picked shield breaker, lady grey, and achille's heel.

Infrigidate took 1 accuracy IO, and 3 procs (two damage and 1 -res proc).

I obviously don't know your exact build, so this is all relative, but generally, you want procs in your commonly fired powers, yeah.
  11. to save the time from ever having to do that ever again.

You should fix your other problems first. It doesn't look like you paid a lot of attention to which IOs you were grabbing while slotting. Integration, for example, has a heal/rech rather than the heal/end, no reason for that. Stamina (and QR) have SOs, rather than IOs, and stamina also has an end/acc rather than the +end proc. Silly mistakes.

You didn't slot MoG like Umbral suggested: +7.5rech LotG, def/rech LotG, 2 lvl 50 rech IOs is the best way to go.
Combat jumping is still overslotted, and why would you two slot health but one slot fast healing? FH has a higher base, thus gains more from identical slotting, you're gimping yourself by doing that.

Dull pain: I'd switch the heal/end for the end/rech, if you have at least 1 hp set bonus and the HP accolades, (and turn them on), then it'll still put you at hp cap, but you'll get more rech out of it (6 second difference).

As far as your attacks go, look more into Touch of Death rather than Mako, that way you'll get more Melee defense (the important one) instead of range. It's common to shoot for 30%ish Melee, 20%ish ranged and AoE.

Also, make sure your mids shows the correct defense values for the BotZ set bonuses,

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=217553

Fury posted here describing how to fix those values.

Last thing, you're overcapped on the rule of 5 set bounses. Between your three obliteration sets and three doctored wound sets, you're getting 6 +5% rech bonuses, but only 5 count. So you need to change something around to fix that. (Also, your +3% damage from mako and obliteration is also suffering from the same problem.
To fix both, you could simply switch an oblit set to a scirocco (and use the 6th slot somewhere else).

I'm not even gonna touch siphon life. I'm sure someone else has a good frankenslotting example for that one.

Edit: I overlooked FA. you want to slot Gaussians for its 6th set bonus for your defenses. So you need to either pick it sooner, or take one of your lvl 50 slots and put it into FA.

DPE = Damage Per Endurance? If that is the case then I don't really need to worry about DPE on this toon since as she is currently slotted she does not have end problems at all.
First off, that build you copied had the +rech in kick turned on. I hope you actually ignored that in your calculations.

I just ran some numbers through really quickly and it seems as though you would actually run into end problems. First off, you didn't take any of the accolades, which hurts quite a bit. Secondly, mids' still enhances the unique values of regen and recovery, when in game these values aren't (or won't soon) be enhanceable (I think? they are fixing that, right? if it isn't already). That means your recovery will actually be lower than listed in mids'.

Now I don't factor in arcanatime simply because I'm a supernoob, but just off base values, your end consumption from fs/cr/inc (x5)/sc was about .26 end higher than your net end gain (end gain - toggles end cost) I didn't factor in BU which might make your end a little better, being that it's about .1end/s from your build. Overall, your end is slowly dropping. According to my nubbishness.

on the whole LBE -res thing... my vote is "no", it's not worth it. You'd probably be doing more just with your normal attack string.

It's not about billions lost on a single set. To recoup the lost performance, entire builds need to be redesigned. This will require multiple repecs or the loss of enhancement you may have put a lot of effort into acquiring.
This is the only real problem with the situation. It's not that the set is being shattered, it's that we have to manipulate our builds, with multiple respecs, to get back to where we were. That's what hurts. Especially for those of us who only have recipespecs left.

By the way, Castle mentioned "most" of the attacks are the standard melee range. Watch the video and notice the second to last power. It's the only one that actually makes a "form" of energy and projects it forward. I'm guessing that one's got a bit 'o range to it.

You didn't see taunt. That would've slightly ruined the awesomeness if they, halfway through, put the *aawwwhhh (/em taunt1)* animation in the middle of the new stuff...
  21. Luckily, the only two toons this really affected were the two that are still only mostly finished. My shield/fire tank and Ele (katana/regen) are the only ones really using them right now, but neither of them are standing in finalized builds, so this didn't really hurt. It sucks, sure, but it's not horrible. The tank will have a little less hp to fill the hole, and Ele will cry some more until I figure out how to fix him.
