If you haven't tried it, don't hate. It's actually quite enjoyable since it's active mitigation.

aside from that, jump kick instead of combat jumping? Not worth it. CJ is practically 3 free defense. Sting of the wasp is < gambler's cut, and if you build for some defense, then you can drop DA for flashing steel as well.

My point is that, regardless of that being enough regen to tank hami or not, it's not that high overall. You say you're "specing" for it, so I assume you mean you're building yourself for regen and recharge bonuses.
With that in mind, even with outside buffs to cap your recharge, 400% of 650 seconds is still giving you over a minute of downtime. One entire minute is a long *** time in Hami land, I suppose you would have switched out primary tanks by that point, anyway.

If you actually knew me you would know about the high horse that I don't sit atop. There is a multitude of people who understand this game much better than I (Sarrate, Des, FMP, Masque, to name a local few).

Instant healing isn't perma, bro. And RttC doesn't work that well in a Hami raid.
I don't care if you're a regen or wp, that number won't always be there, and honestly it's not that good anyway.

Unless you're a stone brute, at which point I call shenanigans.
  7. Why you started another thread is beyond me. Here's what I threw together, if you don't care about purples.

  8. Primary: I'd drop ripper. lunge and impale will suffice.
    Secondary: fine
Pools: Weave, eh... if you build for defense, go for it. otherwise you will be fine with tough.
Ancillary: this is the kicker. If you can get 2 free powers, dark mastery for night fall rocks. If you have three, you can get fire blast and fireball (the generally preferred method).

Playstyle wise you're just gonna fire your fat cone(s) (or fireball), then spine burst after jumping in, with your auras shredding anyone remaining. Lunge for closer enemies you missed, impale and fire blast (if you get it) for the farther ones. You shouldn't have to move around too much.

If you had 3 open powers you could even get tenebrous tentacles. With a purple set, you could also throw in the +hold proc, adding to your survivability. Although, according to mids, it does more damage than night fall... which is stupid.
A ragnarok +KD in throw spines would also add more minor mitigation.
You may even want to consider hasten/SS for your travel (with hurdle) instead of SJ. You wouldn't be able to slot a kismet (loss of combat jumping), but generally it helps speed farming runs up. (totally personal preference).

Personally, I'd go with dark mastery for the two extra cones. Petrifying gaze can take a 4 set of basilisks gaze for 7.5% recharge, so it's not totally wasted. This requires that you drop ripper and weave, and take lightning reflexes last (slotless power). so tenebrous tentacles can have full slots.

The accolades and perma-DP(hasten+55% rech) (plus one +hp set bonus from anywhere) = hp cap. If you're going for +hp set bonuses... don't. It's just silly.

Castle fixed the Mitos to have only 10 mez protection (but something like 50% resistance), so it's still doable with only one controller or dom, it's just harder (and safer) to bring two. Curse you castle for making us bring scrub ATs!

But yeah, that fix still hasn't made it through to us yet :/ probably won't for a while, either.

As I said, "soft" doesn't mean anything in resistance land. "Hard"-cap for defense is 225(ish?), but effectively "cap" (soft) is 45. There's no general need to be higher, that's why it's called softcap (It's a practical cap). With resistance, there is only the cap, and everything under it. So flagging it as "soft" is a misleading representation of the term.
You are indeed correct about fire resistance, but your terminology is a bit wonky :P

The badge existed (Posi had it on test). So there was obviously the floating rumor about it, but as far as I know didn't go live. If this is legit, then we may as well wait until the patch goes through (which it hasn't).

Mitos are going down to mag -10 hold. Which one dom/troller can do fairly easily. They are always going to be harder than they were (permaheld), obviously. So no more scrapper-soloing Hamidon :[

easily softcap? You honestly can't know what you're talking about. FA has no defense, and resistance doesn't softcap. You're capped, or you're not (most often, not).

    Defensive as in secondary.
just because a set is defensive, doesn't mean it gives defense. These terms are completely different. Defense is not taking damage, resistance is lowering damage taken. Defensive sets can do either or both (among other things).

I vote katana as well. The animations of BS are a bit longer, and if you need a quick click, you just might not get that chance.

  21. awaken has a mag 5 stun, resilience passes that (5.01) at lvl 47. So, yeah that should do.
The resistance increase will decrease the duration as well, sometimes it seemed to work almost instantly, where other times it would take a while.
