You still can't tell them what to do anymore than they can tell you. Whether you're going with multiple choice or not.

Either you get the freedom to say what you want on here, when and where you want to (within forum rules), and so do they, or neither does. You choose to ignore such simple concepts at your own peril.

The peril of looking like an utter **** of a hypocrite that is.
  2. Wrong answer.

It can't be said often enough: If you say something in a public or semi-public forum you have to deal with people's reactions.

If you don't want to deal with it, don't post. If you want to keep posting, learn to live with the fallout. If you absolutely cannot handle someone being offended by your routine, I suggest you start mass ignoring people.

Also, you're a [censored] hypocrite. You telling whomever stepped on your genitals to back off is exactly the same thing as them telling you to stop posting retarded fluff, or whatever they did. It's their 15 USD a month, and if they pay them they get the same rights you claim for yourself.
  3. Ever since I can remember.

They might have several spawn points though. Last time I saw them they were near Drea the Hook.
  4. Eh. It's as it's always been. Just with more fruit. Give it a while and you'll get vinegar as the community turns on itself with teeth bared, as it usually does.

  6. Can't help with the former as I don't have any characters in the appropriate range, but both Brutes and Corruptors start out strong and never really let off.

What's 'fun' for you depends a bit on whether you like living on the edge or prefer a bit more safety.

I really enjoy my Sonic/Kinetics Corruptor. He almost has it all. Great single target damage for soloing or killing key enemies on teams, a suite of amazingly useful Buffs and DeBuffs, infinite End past Transference (I so love Stamina-less builds)... the only thing Kin lacks is a solid defence for soloing. Which, incidentally, Sonic provides with a reliable cone Sleep. It makes for very easy cruising solo, and you retain the ability to single-handedly double a team's efficiency.

Fire/Cold is at the other end of the spectrum. Your Primary is pure offence, and tons of it. It falls to Cold to give you a bit of defence, but it won't be much since you'll draw aggro sooner or later with all the AOEs you're throwing out. Still, again you can gain infinite End. In fact, you can mitigate the drawbacks of Nuking enemies if you hit enough targets with Heat Loss. Just use it BEFORE the Nuke, not after. How cool is that? Oh, and you're also well-equipped to DeBuff mobs of chaff or single Hero-class enemies to the point where they're as dangerous as a kitten playing with duct tape.

On Brutes, you can hardly go wrong. What to pick depends on playstyle and concept, really. You will however want to pick something that caters to your strengths. Stone Melee's big damage numbers on the intermediary attacks are fun, but you have a harder time building Fury than Dark Melee for example. Energy Melee is rather pointless and has the ugliest animation of any melee set in a key power. Unfortunately, Super Strength has the second ugliest animation of any melee set in a key power, and is probably the pound for pound best melee set out there right now.

Just as a vague question, which of you people would be comfortable having say, me speaking for you?

    Right?

    Right?

Okay, now consider the difficulty involved.

Well, I would. Though I'd constantly [censored] that you're being too nice to people.

You don't get to post when you're in the oubliette.

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, here we go with the sissy stuff again. An oubliette is just a dark moist hole. Not like you'd have to force me in there. Unless it's tiny. Taking away my lighters would be much worse.

I'd strongly advise against Mind/Empathy if you ever intend to solo. While Mind isn't the worst soloing set, Empathy probably is (mind you, I know people who leverage it well solo but that's with very specialized builds).

    [/ QUOTE ]

My main is an Emp/Energy, and she spent an awful lot of her trip to 50 solo. Along the way I learned a lot about using knockback to my advantage (they can't shoot you if they are flying through the air or flat on their backs) and using IO sets to add boosts to my powers. But I'll admit it would be rough for someone new to the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That and well. For yourself, Empathy in particular really just amounts to one Heal, one Regen Buff and one Recovery Buff. Rad and TA conversely have nine Powers which will help you. Storm has eight, Kinetics has seven, Sonic has six and so on. Of course you'll still have another Set to rely on, but you'll have that no matter your Buff/DeBuff Set.
  9. I have a Sonic/Kin Corr and he's plain lovely. Siren Song is really all that for a solo Kin. Sleep the group, pick a guy to Stun and ST to death in a few hits. Rinse, repeat.

Rad'd -Def will obviously help in the lower levels, but as your build matures (and especially if you pick up Tactics) it becomes a non-issue really. Of course Rad has a tad more useful AOE.

    Sonic, by a [censored] length.

...before 1.3 goes live? Did you see the Land of the Dead stuff?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. 17+ Public Quests and TWO points of RvR in a zone that was promised to be full of RvR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's full of RVR in so far as it's a conditional ORVR Zone. *shrug* I like the concept.

    [ QUOTE ]
Then you can look at what they did to AoEs across the board.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the case of BWs that was seriously sorely needed. Others, not so much, I'll grant you that, and I trust they'll go back with regard to some AOEs. Especially since it seems that Choppa AOE was not hit as badly, but that might just be missing Patch Notes. Wouldn't know as I don't play one.

  15. I still don't get the 'over the top' bit. Sure, it was kinda funny how the guy was trying to get the crowd to make a sound, but YMCA this is not. Did I miss something?

    Over the top, you say...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't get it. Reminds me of Scooter, just with less content and playback. This is over the top.

  18. The usual recommendation's the Dauntless Reverie, but I can't actually tell you if they're recruiting right now. Gimme a few to find the relevant post.

Found it. I got nothing else.
  19. PS.

Also notice how the mere discussion of such a group is already turning into a popularity contest of some sort. Could be an unpopularity contest as well.
  20. <QR>

I think this is a terrible idea.

    1) There's about three players in this game I'd trust with anything. And that's Arcanaville with numbers, BillZ with ATI cards and myself because I know when I'm being deceptive and when not, most of the time anyhow.

    2) Frankly, I can't think of any way to prove or disprove qualification for such a body. Considering that Forbin put on his list the worst forums whiner in the history of CoH and people who in my opinion basically only talk [censored] should be enough evidence of this.

    3) Past projects such as the City Scoop and PERC prove that no matter whom you put into such a group and how carefully you direct them to work on matters, it will piss a good number of people off. Just look at the white-hot reception the PERC people got on Virtue (though the actual thread is probably long gone).

To further illustrate the matter... imagine I was part of that judiciary group.
  21. I don't find it strange on an RP server. Most pen and paper players I know are part of some alternative lifestyle setup, and that's often either accompanied by its own dogma and/or leads to negative experiences with religious people. I know a whole two pen and paper players who are practicing Roman Catholics. Assuming most online RPers come from similar backgrounds, it should make for a comparable statistic.

Conversely, there is an element of scrutiny when playing something related to a major religion. ie. if your character inspired by a major religion is perceived to be satirical or just wrongly portrayed, you should be prepared to take some flack from religious players who feel offended sooner or later. Funnily enough, this is totally okay where fringe religions are concerned. Just look at Marvel pissing all over the norse pantheon in spite of there being a small but healthy following of that belief.

Just saying. There are reasons why there are far more 'alternative lifestyle' Bluesiders than there are 'religuously conservative' ones.

oh ho! another good one, gary numan too!

    are friends electric?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Gary Numan was my first thought. Though I prefer Down in the Park.

However, this is the best thing I can come up with. Closely followed by this, though that's mostly for the ridiculous video. If I'd seen this movie 25 years ago, I'd probably never ever have cared for girls. I'd probably still try to get in John Rhys-Meyer's pants if I ever bumped into him as things stand.

Placebo. Placebo. And of course, Placebo.

    ****. Not you.

    Muse?

Of course, The Smiths. Just hard to find a good version of any of their songs on Youtube (but check out the quiff on Mozzer). This at least is CD quality sound.
  24. I fondly remember that story. Very fondly. I can understand perfectly well. It's a definite moment of comic book magic, right up there with Superman finally kicking the bucket.
  25. How about Absorb Pain at low levels with Heal Other coming in at 8 or so? That'll teach them to do other stuff than heal.
